  1. I'm presuming this is Davie Dodds you're talking about? He went to the huns from us, not United...
  2. How can I put this? Fuck you!
  3. Cheers. Will probably still buy it, but it has been getting mixed reviews.
  4. Any good?
  5. Too right. The very reason I have this nickname on here. The guy was a machine. Granted, a machine that didn't always work and spat the dummy occassionally, but when he was on his game he was awesome. He even helped Darren Young to look a half decent player sometimes...
  6. By the sounds of it though he just wants to be playing every week, and he won't be on a pittance if he does sign for us. Really hope he signs, good player.
  7. D'oh!
  8. I wasn't saying they went anywhere to do better things or otherwise. I was saying they were big name players who he took exception to almost publicly. Fergie bashing? me? i'd hardly think so.
  9. Is that the one that Cooper was in a bar drinking coke and the story got back to Fergie...? Fergie obviously has a dark side to him... look at how he ostricised guys like Black, Leighton, Stam, Beckham and van Nistelrooy throughout his career. Although he didn't necessarily do it through the papers, everyone knew why they weren't playing... the good thing about Taylor's book is that it tells you how the press room reacts to him, how he can manipulate folk as well as giving you the bits that weren't suitable for the papers or the TV.
  10. Was Crick's over a similar timescale, as Taylor's was just over last season and the rather disasterous one before which kind of set up a rather convenient Jekyll/Hyde feeling to it?
  11. Another good book on Fergie is "This is the One - The Uncut Story of a Football Genius", by Daniel Taylor. Like the one Bilbo mentions (which i'll be buying), it's written by a guy who is a ManUtd fan but isn't scared to get stuck into him if needs be. Shows many sides of Fergie in it, and it is a really cracking read.
  12. Is it the one he did when he was at the Dons or the one he released about 10 years ago?
  13. Fuckin scarfers...
  14. All the time? Come on, they don't care about us enough to do it all the time. And Sky certainly bigged up the cup tie versus Celtic. Maybe you just shouldn't really care what they think about our league? Just because they're a bordering country doesn't mean their opinion counts for any more than anyone elses.
  15. It wouldn't matter if she was 6ft 5, ST... All woman goalkeepers are shit. It's apparently in the rules for "Ladies" football.
  16. Great first post! Lee Wilkie is horseshit. I'd rather urinate in my own eyes than watch that cunt play for Aberdeen.
  17. The Police were massive in the States.
  18. Scotland (or the SPL to be more accurate) are as much to blame for Sky dropping our games as anyone else. They effectively priced themselves out of a deal with Sky. It was the SPL's greed that got them dropped by Sky. But once again people in this country want to blame anyone apart from themselves. My subscription to sky is more for La Liga than the EPL. For just over a tenner a month or whatever it is that part of the subscription takes up, do you honestly expect people to give that up just out of some blind loyalty to a product that is vastly over priced (4 games a month = £80+ for tickets alone)? I don't disagree with your sentiment, but instead of all of us continually saying "if people didn't watch the EPL on Sky blah blah blah blah...", maybe if the league or the clubs actually tried to do something constructive to get fans back it would see an upturn in attendances? The obsession in this country with all things English and the chip in the shoulder it then produces holds our sports back as much as anything else. A mate of mine this morning said that there had been talk of Scotland applauding the Croatian side on to the park on Wednesday... had they qualified from a group that didn't include the English would this have been spoken about? I doubt it. And until that attitude changes, we're always going to be held back to a degree.
  19. I'd go for Willo Flood. He's a good player and apparently Levein has said they can't afford Cardiff's £200k asking price. Good replacement for Nicholson if he leaves.
  20. Granted, I did forget about the Brazil 1970 and Holland 1974 re-incarnates
  21. But then, it's three more teams than the SPL can come up with. If you went out your way to avoid the matches cos of the hype, can you not just watch the match but not the build up? or do what i do, watch the match with music on and the volume turned down on the TV? More often than not, you're not going to get a goal fest in these matches cos they are the teams with the best defences, that just has to be accepted. I'd say as far as Scottish football goes, I think it's far more important getting more people through the gates than television coverage at the moment. If the attendances improve, it will have a knock on effect with regards media exposure. However, if you continue to ask for over £20 for a near meaningless game with a club 2nd bottom of the league, you're always going to struggle with attendances.
