  1. The standard in England CAN be pish - Derby, Fulham, Boro and Bolton are fucking gash to watch in the EPL - and the level of entertainment in the Championship is close to zero. But then, I have no interest in watching Scottish Football other than Aberdeen. That is nothing to do with what commentators say about it, but everything to do with the product offending my eyes - maybe give people the benefit of the doubt in that they can make their own minds up about things.
  2. I don't really see how that is manufactured excitement? It's the last 8 of the biggest club competition in Europe, there would be excitement anyway, wouldn't there?
  3. I hardly think you can blame MOTD for the ills of Scottish Football. The fact of the matter is that the product in Scotland is crap, and does not offer value for money. Lower admission prices and perhaps better marketing for the SPL would go a long way, but i think we have to get out of the habit of blaming our shortcomings on the English. Just comes across as Small Country Syndrome. Poor choices made by those at the top of the game are to blame for where the game is now, added to the greed of the clubs.
  4. Maguire off, McNamara on.

  6. That is a very big hun shop!
  7. I went a couple of seasons without missing a match. Don't go very often now due to other commitments, but when you stop going you can see how much madness it is: the financial difficulty it puts you in, the other things you miss out on because of it and probably most tellingly, is that you realise that you were just doing it out of habit and a lot of the time it wasn't that enjoyable at all other than having a laugh and a drink with your mates. The primary reason I stopped going every week is that i stopped looking forward to it, I went because I felt obliged, which is just silly. But then, I was young and never thought I'd see the day that I wouldn't want to go to a match. I look back on it now, and as you say Stonefish, it's mental. (speaking purely for myself here, not anyone else who goes every week)
  8. You go, girlfriend!
  9. I've heard it all now.
  10. So a game between Aberdeen and QotS in 52,000 seater (correct me if that's wrong) isn't going to look stupid even if it was at 3pm? We're not going to take 25,000 for a semi final.. .especially as me and Funster are on holiday at that time (i should add, not together).
  11. Sorry, but that's utter bunkum, as someone used to say. If running around a lot, rather aimlessly at that, makes you the heart and soul of our team, then we're in a bad way and I don't know why Chris Maguire is so derided. For heart and soul, at that time, I give you Mr Russell Anderson.
  12. As I said, Tynecastle was for talks sake. The point being that there wouldn't be a vast number of empty seats, which in turn leads to more embarrassment for Scottish Football, which was part of what BTR was saying.
  13. I was saying that more tongue in cheek than anything DD.
  14. Appreciate the sentiment here completely. But I really think the problem is Hampden, not the kick off time. If it was at Tynecastle (for talks sake) at 12.30, I really don't think there'd be much wrong with that.
  15. ...and still not as good as Steve Lovell.
  16. Do you think that would have ever entered the head of Chris Maguire?
  17. What a card.
  18. I don't think Maguire was injured yesterday, don't recall him being on any of the injury lists in the papers/websites. Duff was definately injured though.
  19. Always thought he was a bit of a headless chicken and his passing was chronic. He was a committed player and you're correct about some of the goals he scored for us, was just never really that keen on him.
  20. Steve Tosh Jamie McQuilken Neil McFarlane John "Steptoe" Stewart All different shades of shit, really. What's the chances of one of them coming back to haunt us?
  21. That would impress them? That's where I've been going wrong all these years...
  22. Don't know about the number of the bus, but you not better getting the train from Central to Mount Florida?
  23. I'm going over to heal Madrid-Aberdeen relations after you lot beat up their police force...
  24. The first one was appalling. The second one i really didn't think there was much in it.
