  1. He's unable to look for a job if he's on gardening leave. We'd also have to pay someone else the managers salary as well as JC's. All seems rather pointless to me.
  2. Perhaps the fans rep on the board could act as more of a go between with supporters and the board of directors? I sent Chris Gavin an email some years ago now when Paterson was in charge, Chris replied to me and while being very courteous he answered none of my questions or concerns. The fans representative isn't representing the fans, as far as I can see.
  3. was it a gamble? At the time we were told that Jeff was a tricky winger, that he'd get us up off our seats in excitement. He's not that type of player. Unless JDV had been feasting in McDonalds every day since we signed him, it certainly looks as though JC had never seen the guy play to know what type of player he was. He's technically a good footballer if a little slow, however, I also think he's another who has never been given a long enough run in the side to allow him to settle in and perform to his best.
  4. Worryingly, there's no mention of him in the article. The Touzani one perplexes me. He's hardly ever played for us, and yet he still got a two year contract last summer. He's come in and shown what he can do this season, and is still left on the bench or nowhere near it, and now he wants to get rid of him.
  5. Just the ten? Nicholson and Miller could easily be added to that as well.
  6. Why do people keep saying "Lovell is not the answer"? Not the answer to what? Nobody thinks he's going to come in and score a barrell load every game while amazingly helping the inept defence to keep the ball out of our goal. The point is surely that he's done enough to be given a start - or rather Mackie and Miller have not done enough to keep their places. The fact Maguire gets on ahead of him and he has no threat about his play at all beggars belief.
  7. I dont think it would matter to JJ!
  8. That'll be us signing Gary Locke then...
  9. All fair points, mate, and likewise, I remember when we were that good too. Results don't effect me for days anymore. The next day i'm forgetting about it already, just at the time I'd never feel like doing a conga, ye know.
  10. VDA14 telling ME to lighten up!?! I'm away for a lie down...
  11. Shouting "Ole" as we're getting royally rogered is a bounce now is it? Everything. Did the conga at the 2000 Cup Final not make you cringe? That was one of the saddest days I've ever had supporting Aberdeen, do you think that having other people say "oh those Aberdeen fans doing the conga, aren't they just great sports?" pleases me in any way, shape or form? It made us look like a two bob bit team, a stupid little club with stupid little fans. I remember going to Pittodrie in the 80's and when St Mirren used to come up their fans often would be in fancy dress. Maybe it's the memory of me thinking "They know they're going to get hammered, so that's why they do it. Thank God the Dons aren't like that", that makes me think this way. As I said before, it was obvious we were going to get skelped last night, I just can't revel in it and I've never found the funny side when the team I love loses. Just not my thing, I'm afraid.
  12. I hear Ryan Esson is looking for a club and he's a good guy to have around the place...
  13. Well, I have known Scotland fans to celebrate in defeat. So, there you go.
  14. I think you're missing the point here. I don't have a problem with singing when losing, I have a problem with certain things being sung when we're losing. I'm not bitter because we "didnae beat Bayern Munich", I never expected anything other than a pumping, but all that "Ole ..." shite is exactly that. Shite. Get some fucking self respect.
  15. Sorry, I've just always had an issue with people celebrating defeat. I never thought we were like that, always thought we left that shite to the Tartan Army.
  16. I know what you mean, he does make some very good saves. But then, he's a professional goalkeeper, he should be making good saves. Unfortunately for him, a goalkeeper is always judged on how many/few mistakes he makes.
  17. yeah, cos i've never done that, eh?
  18. That sort of thing just embarrasses me. Same as the "conga" at the 2000 final. LOSERS.
  19. The frustrating thing for me is I just wonder what we would have done with a goalkeeper in goals, but then I've wondered that all season..... *puts tin hat on*
  20. And? Don't see what the problem is. Do you support the tims and huns in europe? Couldn't give a fuck what he thinks or wants. Get over it.
  21. It's not excitement I'm feeling, it's apprehension. I hope we all enjoy it, just can't see it though. but... COME ON YE REDS!
  22. Same here. So much so, I went out to Hills at lunch and put the colossal amount of £2 on him scoring at any time. 8/1. So the bookies obviously agree too...
  23. Sports Cafe on Sauchiehall St will put it on for you. It's a hole, very expensive and full of wankers, but they'll have it on at least one screen. If they don't, they'll put it on if you ask.
