  1. Swansea's in Scotland??
  2. Really? You'd think they'd take the risk, it's not as if it's likely we're going to go back to the bad old days, is it? We're surely going to win more than we lose these days.
  3. I can understand it from the point of view that we can't guarantee the income generated this season will be repeated for each of the next three seasons. But, you would think that although wages stay the same or a small increase, that bonuses would increase substantially.
  4. £200k for Clark but £175k for Hart. Talk about perverse.
  5. Can't see Dingus leaving Motherwell any time soon after the tragic event of last week.
  6. I thought Thistle did do that? Their student village is at the end of my street and i see loads of them going to the match when Thistle are at home.
  7. It's all about life choices buddy. You didn't need to do all that, but you chose to. Hart doesn't have to accept that he isn't being paid what he should - and let's face it, the guy deserves parity with Severin, Smith and Miller - so he's choosing not to. Can't say I blame him.
  8. I THINK these are new quotes from Calderwood... if not, apologies With several other players out of contract at the end of the season, Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood confirmed Barry Nicholson had rejected new terms. However, Calderwood remains positive on the chances of defender Zander Diamond staying at Pittodrie. Calderwood's contract also expires in the summer. Strikers Steve Lovell and Lee Miller, goalkeeper Derek Soutar and defender Richie Byrne are all in the same boat. "We have built up a very good squad in the last few years but every individual has their own choice to make in life," said Calderwood. "We are starting to be a feeder country for bigger countries which is great in one way but I don't know if it's good for Scottish football. "And when they come out of contract, every club has their limits on what they can do." Calderwood, now in his fourth season at Pittodrie, has been offered a new deal but is looking for assurances that he will have money to improve his squad. "It's not clear cut but until I've actually signed a new contract, leaving the club remains a possibility," he added. "I hope it doesn't come to that because I want to stay here, but it is how much others want me to stay that is really going to matter. "We'll see what develops over the next few days. "The coaching staff and I will see how things go on the player front this week, then decide what we plan to do. "If they leave it will be a huge blow, I don't see how we could take four players of that quality in during the transfer window. "We feel we've done well here but it's now a case of seeing how far the directors are willing to take things forward." Diamond, a former Scotland Under-21 international centre-half, will meet with the club later this week to discuss his future.
  9. I wish Hart was staying. Would like Nicholson to stay but not overly fussed, but Chris Clark... Jebus!
  10. EFF EFF ESS. How much for Mikey? How can they turn ANYTHING down for Clark? Fucking incompetent cunts.
  11. I certainly wouldn't be averse to that idea. Only thing is that assistants rarely step up well.
  12. £275k for Hart and Clark, both with only 6 months left on their contract? TAKE IT.
  13. Reckon that means that someone is DEFINATELY leaving for a fee?
  14. Oooof!!! A Scottish one will do for now I think!
  15. Yeah, the ceiling i was talking about is how big a job he could get too. I wasn't meaning he's taken us as far as he can etc. Some people will choose personal glory over cash - Willie Miller and Henrik Larsson being prime examples. You are right in what you say though, that it is just a job to JC, but you kinda hoped that he would have forged some emotional attachment in the last 3 and a half years. of course, the brilliant nights we're talking about are seen as the platform for him to get himself a bigger job (in his eyes). But if he goes, he goes. We'll cope. We've lost better managers than him, and we've lost better players than Nicholson, Hart, Diamond and Clark before and we coped. It's a setback, but not one that we can't recover from.
  16. I think he has. That may be totally wrong and it is just my opinion, but in reality, what are you going to do with - for talks sake - Leicester? European football? No. Cup finals/semi finals a possibility? An extreme long shot. Do you think he'd get anything like the last day of last season anywhere else? Or the Copenhagen game? or taking another team to play Atletico Madrid? Money wise there are loads of clubs who can better us. But, does JC at the end of his career want to look at his bank balance (that wont be unhealthy if he stays with us, let's face it) or be able to say, "this is what I achieved, and I was a massive cause for such brilliant games at Aberdeen"? I certainly know which one I would pick.
  17. But we're not "coining it in" enough not to service the debt. He's been told he's getting £1.4m over three years for the squad, with the possibility of more to come. Maybe he should just dry his eyes and prove that he's good in the transfer market.
  18. Absolutely. I think there are the two extreme camps of "Jimmy is God" and "Jimmy Get Tae Fuck", but I'd imagine that there's a large amount of Dons fans somewhere in between. Most of whom may edge towards the "Jimmy is God" mob. Think you are right in saying that he probably realises that there are whispers of discontent and has probably realised this for a while. He wouldn't be human if that didn't stick in his throat even just a little. Whether those fans are right or wrong is irrelevant to be honest, JC has always thought that his stock was substantial enough to move him on to what he sees as a bigger club. But, I reckon JC has reached his ceiling, looks like he'll find that out after it's too late.
  19. I don't particularly think that it's people wanting him out, per se. I think it's more the fact that a considerable amount of Dandies just wouldn't be that arsed if he left or not for a whole host of reasons.
  20. As I said, Al, it's not as good as Aberdeen!
  21. He's gone, no question about that. He's trying to play a game so that he doesn't look like the bad guy in this. But as GS says, it's Catch 22 as the players wont sign unless he has and vice versa. He knows he can use that as a reason to walk. But he'd be a silly, silly man to walk out on our club. I don't know who he thinks he'll manage next, but I can assure him it won't be as good as Aberdeen.
  22. believe me, it's true. It was even alluded to in the Sunday Herald last week.
