  1. He's been utterly brutal for them when he's played this season. At fault for a couple of goals at the weekend. Wouldn't touch him with the proverbial barge pole.
  2. along with Leicester and Preston, according to the BBC Gossip column. Think he'd jump ship to any of them?
  3. Totally understand that, but there will be days that you've been there that will stay on YouTube forever for Dons Fans, think of it that way. Beating the huns for example, or Mackie's goal in Dnipro. It's all our history. Started watching the YouTube link for our "Great Escape" and then all the links around that, and it sets me off every time! The game at Parkhead that's on YouTube, 3-0 Dandies, Charlie Nick's homecoming for them, I fucking love that game (was there with my dad and grandad who died a couple of years later, that was his last dons game) We were awesome. Paul Mason, Brian Grant (even Gerry McNee said he should be playing for scotland after that game, and yet never won a cap.), Jim Bett, Stewart McKimmie, Alex McLeish, Theo Snelders, Peter van de Ven, Hans Gillhaus... and that was a team that never won anything. That still haunts me. But, they were fucking excellent, and if they were our team today they'd sweep the board.
  4. Don't sad face it,Sneckie!! It'll be a cracking achievement. I can't wait for that game. Different times, ye know? by fuck, what a team we were, but yeah, we beat Copenhagen, they'll go down in the history books and good on them. No one's saying they're that standard (cos let's face it, they're far from it) but they have also achieved something so good on them (if they do it !) COME ON YE REDS!!! Get yer wee face smiling!! This is a fucking huge match on Thursday. Enjoy it.
  5. Dingus gets a hat trick but he still says Willie's performance is THE best he's ever seen in Europe. And considering he was 279 years old at the time (Archie, not Willie)... that's saying something...
  6. I had thought about saying that...... but you had to ruin it for everyone, BigAL... whit ye like???
  7. Watch (and more importantly, listen) right til the end.
  8. Duncan Shearer. He could hit a ball, eh? What a player.
  9. Good man!!
  10. EFF EFF ESS! Have a day off, buddy, eh?
  11. What? So now we have to praise our ex players on what they did at other clubs?? I don't fucking think so. Read my post again. I think you have the wrong end of the stick. You possibly have the wrong stick altogether.
  12. Sorry, but what Shearer did for us and what Windass did for us is entirely different. People seem to think Windass was some amazing player. He wasn't. He was a good player. Nothing more. Nothing less. Shearer was the best penalty box striker we'd had since Frankie Mac. I'd say Windass was a cult hero. Shearer? nope. Bona fide hero? absolutely.
  13. Duncan Shearer, Hans Gillhaus, Jim Bett, Charlie Nick are not cult heroes. They're just heroes. A cult hero would be more someone who wasn't really recognised as a hero outwith those who followed the club. Lee Richardson and Doug Rougvie are good shouts, though.
  14. Doesn't have to be this season though, does it? If people (Paul Sturrock, in this case) know what he's capable of, and also know he'll be available for next to nothing, then that may well be good enough for them.
  15. Pretty much, especially as it was announced yesterday that McLeish is getting a fair amount to spend in January - which, incidentally, is likely go on players he has worked with before. So would imagine he'd let him stay with us until the end of the season.
  16. That possibly explains why when I went to put a bet on today at Hills the guy at the counter informed me the Dons' odds had gone from 10/11 (coupon prices) to 8/11.
  17. Who told you that? Going by the quote at the top of this thread, from AFC, he's not playing.
  18. Diamond and Jeff are injured!
  19. Is it just me or does it not say up there that Zander is out?
  20. I see what you've done there!
  21. Copenhagen looked a very useful side away to Loko. I watched that on the aforementioned website. That prick of a captain of Loko's was sent off, and some of the tackles Loko were putting in were awful. One of which was so bad I'm sure the Copenhagen boy must have a broken ankle. But, as good as Copenhagen looked in that game, all their good work was done outside the area.
  22. Not had any problems with viruses or spyware. Only problem for me was that if it's a game which is being broadcast through Sopcast, I couldn't find what channel it was on. Most of the games use the TVU download and that works perfectly.
  23. While I agree that the club should be doing more, you must understand how perplexed they'll be about the numbers in madrid and the relatively low numbers at Pittodrie? However, as you rightly say, it's people's own choices. They could charge a tenner a skull, and people would still moan/sit in the pub/claim it's not entertaining enough etc etc.
  24. And yet 6000+ can go to Madrid. And there is no way that 100% of them were season ticket holders.
  25. We're not talking about a cup final here, or the last game of last season, for example. We're talking about a game in a different country! And big game? Possibly, but it was also a game we were never going to win and it was written off as such when the draw was made. I'd say the other three matches in our group were/are bigger matches for us. So, you just really fancied a wee jaunt to Madrid for a jolly up? Again, fair enough if that's the case... no point in dressing it up as anything else though, is there? I know that, mine certainly doesn't.
