I would say the problem lies more in how things have been done rather than who's the better keeper. But in saying that, Clangers and Soutar is rather like AIDS and Pluracy... I'd rather have neither.

IF this is true, it's a fucking appalling decision by Calderwood and shows him up for the arse that he is. Langfield doesn't want to play for us. Therefore, he shouldn't play for us. I have it on good authority that he's not that far away from losing the dressing room, I don't see how this decision will appease the players.

I hope, with his European experiance at Dungfermilne he is a must, plus we need someone to give the dressing room a laugh. Derek Young is the single reason we never took a lead to Berlin five years ago.

I don't think so, Drew. He was happy enough to play for Wolves for 2 seasons where there was no chance of European football, so that can't be too big a factor at all for him.

Do the group stages not only go up until the end of the year? In the unlikely event that we make it through to the groups, and then qualify from the group, I'm not entirely sure that would even keep him. You have to remember, McNamara has played on a much bigger stage than that.

I have a feeling that one of those three - Hart, Nic and Clark - will leave, and I have a gut feeling that will be Hart. If certain rumours are correct, he's rather peeved at being on less money than certain other players who are clearly not performing as well as oor Mikey. I'd like to see Hart, Nicholson, Lovell, Diamond, Maguire and probably Clark stay and MAYBE Soutar (as a back up keeper) stay... the rest can do one for all I care. However, what I think WILL happen, is that all the dross (Langfield, Byrne, Miller) will jump at the chance to sign new deals as will Maguire, Diamond and Clark, and we'll predictably be left sweating on the deals for Nicholson, Hart and Lovell.

Not really sure why you're putting a figure on the amount of goals Lovell HAS to score to secure a new contract? Especially when Lee Miller has now taken his grand total to 5 in 38 matches. If any of the strikers is undeserving of a contract, it would have to be Miller, particularly as he's our highest paid player.
