Steven McLean is the ref. Not sure why this joker keeps getting big matches.
-
I really hope that's a smokescreen.

it's goodbye from him...

Remi Garde out the door at Villa... Eric Black taking temporary charge. Good luck with that Eric....

I think with Zidane, for me anyway, we saw someone playing the game with a very distinct style which we maybe hadn't seen before (or certainly not seen a lot of), maybe Michael Laudrup to an extent. I've not read the Guardian piece yet but just noticed it's by David Winner who wrote Brilliant Orange: The Neurotic Genius of Dutch Football, the best football book i've ever read, I would highly recommend it. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/25/johan-cruyff-father-modern-game-dutch Agree about the age thing. The lack of footage etc is also a hindrance when trying to compare players and teams from different eras. The other thing is that everyone has their own idea of what a footballer should be. Sticking with the Dutch theme, pretty much most commentators would say that out of the famous AC Milan Dutch trio van Basten and Gullit were the star turns - and they were exceptional players in their own right, but according to Arrigo Saachi and Franco Baresi, Frank Rijkaard was the best out the three of them. But goals and forward players always dominate these things; I'm not sure that's right but that's a different argument altogether.

Also revealed he was also arrested for having beastality videos on his laptop. All round nice guy, then.

Zidane is the greatest European player of all time for my money. In fact, if i could pay to get into a match to see anyone play at their best, past or present, it would be to watch Zidane. Cruyff is probably the coolest & most iconic player of all time; the number 14, the two stripes on his adidas Holland top as he was sponsored by Puma, passing the penalty to Jesper Olsen (?), having a turn named after him - and not a turn he invented, it just so happened he was the absolute best at it. He also had that classic self belief/arrogance required - Jan Molby said that when he joined Ajax, Cruyff was there in the twilight of his career but Molby hadn't seen him at training all week, then Cruyff strolls into the changing room before the match on the Saturday. Molby nervously introduced himself and Cruyff says; 'I'll give you one bit of advice. When you get the ball, give it to me because I'll be the best player on the park'. The Guardian has a tribute to Cruyff today. Typically, they've used a picture of Robbie Rensenbrink to go with it...

No one think to ask why Mulgrew is still 'in possession' when he has been an integral part of squads who have consistently failed?

I know we're mostly singing from the same hymn sheet on this one, but can anyone give me a legitimate thought/reason for DM starting Shinnie in midfield when he has 3 - not just one, but three - centre midfielders on the bench? He is the one who has rightly been banging on about Shinnie being the best LB in the country, so next match plays him in midfield. Wonderful. Reynolds, Taylor and Brown - god awful. the fact we were even in with a shout of challenging for the title with these imposters in our back line is something of a puzzle. The first goal was almost identical to the Killie goal last week and the second... deary me. Reynolds outmuscled again and Brown makes the boy's decision for him. Simon Church contributes nothing. Absolutely fuck all. He had a few attempts on target... I've patted dogs harder than he hit those shots. Another forward signed by McInnes who is clearly not up to the task. I feel sorry for Jonny Hayes. He really does not deserve to be on the losing side this weekend (as usual), but his team mates let him down. Same goes for Logan. Utterly pointless them looking to their captain for inspiration as well. He passes the buck better than he passes the ball. It has been a long, long time since I've been as down after a Dons result as i was last night. An entirely avoidable outcome.

Oh I know... I've already asked for a vote of confidence from the board...

Sore one today for Red Stars. Quarter Final 2nd leg of the President's Cup, against Brunswick from Falkirk who are in the league above us. They won the first leg 3-2 thanks to a last minute penalty. We had a game plan today which was looking good until Brunswick scored a scrappy goal just after half time. MacIntosh then won a penalty for Red Stars and Stuart Hay dispatched the pen for his first Red Stars goal. The Dons were in the ascendancy after that but a soft free kick was then taken from the wrong place and a moving ball and Brunswick were suddenly 2-1 up. A couple of chances came and went for Red Stars in the last ten minutes and it just wasn't to be. A good battling performance however, back into league action next Sunday. Team: Dunlop; Hay, Smith, R MacDonald, Borisewitz; Evans, Paterson, Shaw, M MacDonald, Murphy (Blackhall); MacIntosh

He did get the opener and credit to him for that, but both he and Considine struggled to handle Josh Magennis. I'm not sure a team chasing a title should be struggling to such an extent with a pretty limited player. Magennis, also to give him his due, was a pest with constant movement, something we lacked up front. Agree about Smith, thought he had some nice touches and he was finding pockets of space well. Also agree about Faubert, looked very tidy indeed.

Another scrappy win but fuck it, we got it. Robson again stuck out like a sore thumb in terms of quality. McLean was also good again and there were wee flashes from both Hayes and McGinn. The two full backs though were superb. Really can't fault either of them for their work ethic, their attitude or their quality. Absolutely top notch and I hate to think where we'd be without them. Negatives: Taylor. Absolute horse. Never found a red jersey all day. Brown. Woeful at their goal, has no command of his area at all. Biggest negative though was the abuse given to McGinn by some fans. Seems it's ok to call him a 'Taig' and a 'Fenian'. We kid on that we're above bigotry and we're trotting shite like that out about our own players? Get to fuck. It is irrelevant that McGinn is the best player we've had since Eoin Jess, let's abuse him because he's a Celtic fan. How we must all hark for the days of Scott Muirhead. I fucking despair.

1-1 at Fir Park now. Both defences and keepers are utterly ding.
-
Dundee Utd currently one up away to M'well, Anier with a cracker. Huns one down to Morton at home.
-
On the upside, Shinnie's yellow has been rescinded.
-
Supposedly only 4 players under 24 and two of them play the same position. Tierney in ahead of Shinnie is laughable and shows the whole thing up for what it is - a massive waste of time. Strachan also mentioned Reynolds as being unlucky not to get called up - he's clearly seen fuck all of us this season because Reynolds has been even worse than he was last season.
-
that's about your best post on here.

Only read the first four or five paragraphs of that. Disgusting. Regardless of what she thought she was doing, or what she wanted, or what Katie fucking Hopkins deems the girl imagined or wanted, Adam Johnson, an adult, had sexual relations with a minor. There is a reason there is a legal age for sexual activity. Whether she is six years or six months short of it equals the same thing - she is a minor and you can't start drawing imaginary lines under the line of legal age. Because if you do, at what point do you stop?

Well, that was mostly brutal. Pretty pedestrian stuff in the first half apart from a great chance for McLean and Jonny Hayes trying to win the league on his own - he was great but it felt as though because his two mates weren't up there with him he felt he had to win it by himself. Storie very unlucky to be hooked - looked as though DM blamed him for the goal but it could have been wound back and found a fault with near enough every Don who had been in the area of the ball. Great strike from Lawless though. Robson though changed it for us. Constantly barking at his team mates and his quality in delivery is second to none in our league. McLean was very good again and Shinnie in the second half in particular an absolute hero. Two centre halves their usual uncertain selfs. Church - lovely header to win it but did nothing, offered nothing in terms of movement to the point that McLean was pushing up on to their backline to get some urgency up there. Jack really has to start driving on and offering something. He passes the buck. He's the captain of a title chasing side. Time to show it. All in... great three points. On to Killie.

It's called the Richard Donald Lower...

Don't like the idea of Bell at all. Wouldn't want us signing him because he's simply not very good and is the main player in the funniest thing I've ever seen on a football pitch - Motherwell's first goal at Fir Park in the play off last year.
-
Danny Rogers offered a new deal from the Dons.

I'd jail him. He should not have even entertained the girl beyond his club duty - giving her a signed shirt or whatever. The fact he did shows he's a danger. As has been said, he digitally penetrated her. It's not about forcing himself on her it's about having sexual relations with a child, which should result in a jail term every single time.
