Good 3 points but a bit frustrating not to score more. Bain had some good saves again, Rooney should have scored in the second half but got his feet all wrong then blazed over and Goodwillie should have done better with a volley. Another decent performance from Considine although he was lucky his miskick in the first half didn't come to more. Don't wish to jinx it, but think St Johnstone may have a decent chance at taking something tomorrow.

Bloody hell. This puts me neither up nor down, I put it out there as a talking point, as believe it or not this board needs a bit more chat on it, ye know?
-
But that's the draw, otherwise why don't we just fix it so that the 'big' teams are always at home?
-
Or, radically, they could just limit the number of spectators in the ground to the ground's actual capacity. I understand why they do it, just think it's a bit of a shame. People banging on about the "magic of the cup"... East Kilbride are at home to Celtic, which will be played at Hamilton's ground so we can milk it for all the cash we can. Aye, magic indeed.
-
It's a senior level cup competition. If you're drawn at home I think you should be expected to fulfil that fixture as it's drawn. Why is it ok, for example, for St Johnstone to play at EK, but not Celtic or Aberdeen?
-
Playing devil's advocate here, but if a club is in a competition where it is a possibility it can not host a game at their home ground, should they be in the competition?
-
Got to be played at New Douglas Park though, what's the reasoning for playing it there? Is it just because of TV?
-
Not sure what he's done to be called that, but i agree he was out his depth. He had been a very good club manager at one point.

if you can get the full documentary then this is an absolute cracker: Although I can't help feel sorry for Taylor when I watch it - he's a decent person, and he confronted racists at Wembley which I don't believe many football managers would have had the balls to do back then. This one is ok, called One Night in Turin, around England at the 1990 WC, great soundtrack to it too. It's based on the very good book All Played Out, some good behind the scenes stuff in both. I think the full film is on YouTube though (the below is just a clip)

Interesting start to the game from us - very fast start, much like the Dundee and Killie away matches before Christmas, in both games the result was a formality after not very long at all. We didn't get the early goals today but the game plan didn't change much when down to 10 men and a goal down. Both full backs sitting very high up the park, almost as secondary wingers. Today was a great 3 points and credit to all concerned, but you need to ask why are we not starting every match in similar fashion? Ok, it may not always come off depending on opposition tactics, but we were sleepwalking last week at Tynecastle, whereas today we were right at it. We need to keep playing at that tempo. Mark Reynolds - what a position he got himself in at the sending off, absolutely terrible - far too close to Taylor and he had no idea where their striker was. I have to say I am rapidly losing faith in Reynolds. He had a stinking season last season and he's not improved on that this season. To me, I think it's looking more and more likely that he needed Anderson next to him. I would imagine playing next to Taylor can't be great as it's always in the back of your mind that he's going to go walkabout or fanny about once too often, but Reynolds looks as though he needs someone holding his hand at the moment and for our senior player in the starting XI to look like that, it really isn't good enough. Credit to Considine though who had a positive game when he came on.

It's only three points though....

He was signed from Walsall.

Will give it a miss then. Not sure if it was the subject matter, the rednecks, the bleak landscapes or all of it together, but it made me want to weep. It was interesting, and obviously a miscarriage of justice/abuse of powers etc, but it felt as though the first episode was 5 hours long.
-
I watched the first episode but not sure I'll be watching anymore, it was extremely grim. Possibly wasn't in the right mind set for it, right enough. Started watching another drama about Escobar. Have watched all of Narcos and then a different series popped up on Netflix. Will give it a go, first episode seemed decent enough.

Thought this thread was going to be about the halcyon days of The Tunnel or The Arches. Disappointed.

This doesn't fill me with confidence. Do we never look abroad for first team players anymore? I really don't think there's value for money in the English lower leagues.

Not been linked with Alan Gow yet?

http://news.stv.tv/west-central/1338780-rangers-wi-fi-providers-bid-to-ring-fence-300000-over-unpaid-bill/ Always nice to see them have their dirty laundry aired in public. -
I was thinking about this yesterday when I heard exactly the sort of thing you're talking about there. It's a default process for news programmes/stations now - we must have a reaction from social media and we must have the reaction from the rich and famous. This was David Bowie though - an artist of great substance, whose work speaks for itself and has done for nigh on half a century, an icon, it would have been nice if they could have missed out the trite and lazy journalism this time.
-
One injury hardly constitutes an emergency, particularly for a club the size of Liverpool surely?
-
Was listening to Cat People this morning - great song. Also listened to Wild is the Wind, Bowie said it was his greatest vocal performance. Well worth a listen for those who have never heard it before.
-
I think it's more the way it's been done. Just a couple of weeks after Klopp has told DM that we can have Ward for the rest of the season he goes back on his word. He doesn't have an injury crisis - the fact is that he's just realised that Bogdan is shite. Seems strange that it's taken him this long. To mess up the plans for another club after you have given them assurances isn't really a grown up thing to do. But it is what it is and we'll just have to get on with it.
-
As would I, but do you think the requisite scouting etc has been done when we were assured by LFC that we had Ward until the end of the season?
-
Had cancer for the last 18 months apparently. Think it's safe to say there won't be another like him again. Genius of a man.
-
Kind of looks like Liverpool have done us up like a kipper here. They're possibly going to give us the lad Fulton who was on their bench on Friday night in exchange for Ward. Scottish lad. Esson is still Caley's second choice. Would Caley give him to a competitor though?
