  1. Agreed, not sure I'd have him in the Dons team on Saturday never mind a Scotland squad at the moment.
  2. Yip. From Stoney originally. Plays up front. Lovely big chap.
  3. It was until recently mate. We had gone 7 months or so undefeated (across 2 seasons). In the new season we found ourselves top of the league then all of a sudden we had a few defeats on the bounce, a couple of players left and things were really up in the air. We got a couple of new players in and things are looking good again. Really good bunch of boys and all willing to work hard which makes it much easier for me thankfully. I'm really enjoying taking them this season, when we play well we play some great stuff. Rangers are one of the (traditional) strong teams in the league and to batter them so badly today says a lot for our lads, considering we were missing 5 or 6 players. To have a Rangers manager say to you "Well done, you should have won by more" after a 6-0 win is quite a nice feeling in life
  4. A match report written by DT's Azteca (aka Tilda Swinton). Guess which one he is in the report...
  5. King winning is about the best thing we could have hoped for. He, by his own admission, does not have the required funds. In the process of getting there - without the necessary £s - he's also marginalised Ashley. They need £5m by 3rd week in March just to continue as a going concern. Where's that coming from? King? Haha. Theyve pissed off Ashley and he could play hardball with them now over his previous loans. If they turn to him for the second tranche of the £10m loan he automatically gets to put 2 of his people on the new board. He also receives 75% of all merch income and holds the charge over edmiston house, the 'famous' car park and murray park. They're closer to liquidation now than they've ever been and this could be a quick end for them this time. Make no mistake King is just the latest crook in a long line of crooks connected to that shower. The saviour? He's a scumbag, but thats perfectly fine for me.
  6. Went for De Gea from that list but think Handanovic at Inter is excellent too.
  7. My point stands. Whatabouttery.
  8. Think we should leave the whatabouttery to Celtic and their blue brothers across the city. There are a fair amount of bell ends in our support these days, the number who stoop to the "Irish/fenian/BJK" insults etc is really disappointing - as if they're trying to create a rivalry in the absence of the huns. We should be above all that shite.
  9. Adam Johnson of Sunderland & England arrested for having sex with a 15 year old girl.
  10. I keep thinking back to an interview with Alex McLeish on Theo Snelders becoming Jim Leighton's replacement. He said that as long as Theo understood "Stay on your bloomin' line Theo" they'd be ok. That was the understanding he and Miller had with Leighton. When Leighton went to United he was playing behind a poor defence and one which changed week to week. He was exposed badly down there by his defence and he lost a lot of goals where the ball flew across the face of his 6 yard line and he didn't know whether to come for it or not. We now have two goalkeepers working under Leighton and neither of them come off their line. Coincidence? I've no idea if Leighton is a good coach or not, but it's a worrying trend.
  11. Nah, if we're at the stage that one of our defenders can't pass the ball back in that situation then we're as well giving up altogether. Amateur hour again from an Aberdeen goalkeeper in a big game. Didn't think our shout was a pen - would have been thoroughly aggrieved had that been given against us, Reynolds let their striker get on the blindside of him and never recovered. Very poor defending from our captain. We got ragged and gun-ho after the second and were left too short too many times at the back. Poor discipline or desperation, it wasn't what we needed when we still had plenty of time to get back in the game. Flood was poor second half but that's what will happen when your poorest ball player is left isolated so much. Shame that the run has come to an end in such circumstances but 3 games v them this season 3 defeats. 3 games against them and 3 goals against from inside our six yard box from set pieces. Quite simply, champions do not lose big matches in such a soft manner on a regular basis. Hopefully we learn from our mistakes and get ready to take it to them next season...preferably with a new No.1 and back-up in position.
  12. First game with the RDS opened. Think McLeish scored a header at that end too.
  13. Agree with you. Taylor has done ok, but just ok in my book. Always looks as though there's an error on it's way with him. He reminds me very much of Brian Irvine. Not very flexible, runs with a very straight back, dives in when it's not required and that fresh air swipe or getting ripped a new one by an average striker is just round the corner. Daniels has done well enough, looks like a player who is happy to just keep doing the basics well. I really wish we had Anderson for this run in though and particularly for this Sunday.
  14. First I remember was Dec 1986, aged 7. Away to Celtic, 1-1 draw. Alan McInally for them after about 3 minutes, then Joe Miller for us with a diving header. He had earlier missed a penalty kick, the useless git. Our relationship (mine and J Miller) was never the same after that, although I did relent a touch the season after when he scored two cracking volleys in games I was at (v Celtic again and Falkirk away), both 2-2 draws.
  15. George Smith was the one I hated. Didn't even attempt to disguise his contempt for us and in particular Willie Miller. The penalty in the 89 Cup Final is still one of the most ludicrous decisions I've seen in top flight football. John Rowbottham takes some beating too after the whole Gazza thing at the Bronx.
  16. Aye, Martin Keown is known for his pro-United stance right enough, particularly prevelant when Fellaini was elbowed in the face and all he did was go on about Fellaini elbowing people and that no doubt he would be elbowing someone soon. New offside laws mean that you mostly have to touch the ball to be interfering with play. Surely this hasn't passed you by, Tom? It's a farce of course, but that's the law.
  17. Hills still offering 2/1 just for a Hibs win. 5/1 for Hibs -1 and 12 for -2. Ridiculous.
  18. Not even sure that's the case. I think it was more a case of they couldn't, absolutely could not, afford to not get the PL after losing the CL. Supposedly their average for the Sunday 4pm game is 2m viewers. They have 10m subscribers, at £30 a month.... something doesn't quite add up even chucking in advertising revenue there's still a bit to go. The thing that gets me - and don't get me wrong, I like watching the EPL as I do with most football - is that at no point in its recent history has the English top flight signed the greatest player in the world at that moment. It could be argued that they have created them - C Ronaldo being an example - but the very top players at the top of their game have not moved there. Zidane - Italy then Spain. Messi - Spain. Rivaldo, Figo, Raul, Iniesta, Xavi - Spain. Maldini, Zanetti, Baggio - Italy. Look at Gullit and Vialli... signed for English sides when their careers were on their last legs and both knew they could stroll it in England despite the "speed" of the game. That doesn't mean that the PL is not a good league etc, but it should surely click to everyone down there that they are paying way over the odds for everything - transfer fees, wages, TV rights. When Sky have paid this amount of money, they're going to hype their (apologies) "product" to the ends of the earth. It's still just a game of football, no matter what they say or pay.
  19. 100 matches, 25 wins. Only Big Red has a poorer record as a Vanilla manager. They've only scored 12 goals after 25 games this season, the worst ever in PL records. To be tbh honest I'm fucking surprised they've scored that many. Been an awful team to watch for years.
  20. We're being heavily linked with Kenny McLean from St Mirren. Transfer fee would be involved but STV and P&J seemingly think we're getting him today on 3.5 year deal.
  21. Speaks like a 5 year old child but with none of the charm, wit or intelligence. Have to laugh when he tries to take the piss out of Number 6 on the radio... Preston - a player who probably never even registered with Miller at the time due to the fact the ex United/St J/Hertz non-medal winner was a total fucking non-entity. His own family wouldn't even have watched the cunt playing football. They're probably delighted he's on the radio though...keeps him out the house.
  22. On Friday night Consi > Reynolds.
  23. I'd keep the natural left footer at left back, and put Joe in beside Reynolds.
  24. 9/5 for Hertz to win tonight. 5/1 for Hertz -1. Two value bets for you right there. Huns saying they're going to have a sit in protest tonight after the game. Would the cunts not need to start going to games for that to happen?? Also some murmurrings of pitch invasions tonight on the 54th minute (no idea of the significance of that time).
  25. Of course we are, but slating them for not doing it when we can't do it ourselves (or haven't done it ourselves so far) is a bit rich. Killie's record against Celtic is absolutely woeful, not sure why you expected that to change on Monday night.
