  1. One of his big problems is that he doesn't move his feet at all. Whether that's at crosses or long range shots, he doesn't seem to realise that if he moves his feet he can get himself into a better position for stopping the shot or - heaven forbid - collecting a cross in the unlikely event he has actually come off his line for a change. I said over the course of last season and this that Anderson is our best defender by a long way. As good as Reynolds is, he is clearly a better defender with Anderson next to him. One thing which is clear watching Anderson is that he does not trust Langfield - whether that is with passes back to him or how deep he will go to defend crosses and corner kicks - he knows his keeper will never come for anything. Perhaps if Taylor settles into that mindset he'll get on better.
  2. Above taken from today's Fiver, never a good sign when your captain comes out in public and accuses his team mates of hiding.
  3. I found St Peter's Square to be pretty cool, quite dramatic looking and the Basilica is worth a look. Went into the Vatican tour and I found it quite disgusting - the place is dripping in gold; tapestries woven with gold hang on the walls of all the corridors (most of which lead to a gift shop), sell a few of them and give the money to those who need it in the world. The Cistene Chapel..? Wasn't overly impressed, but i suppose it's not a bad effort for a painter and decorator. Italy is magic though, my favourite country.
  4. I reckon he'll revert to one up front, and I hope it's Rooney. Goodwillie has been showing some good work recently but he just doesn't have Rooney's eye for goal. In saying that, I'd prefer 4-4-2 as well. Langfield should be dropped. No point in McInnes signing Brown if he isn't going to trust him. I think Taylor is playing ahead of Considine because McInnes doesn't fancy two left footers at CH, I'd give it a go though.
  5. The one last night reminded me of one of the goals Leighton let in for Man Utd in the FA Cup Final in 1990 which led to him being dropped and all that followed that.
  6. Told the club he had to go home as his gran had died, then went and signed for Besiktas behind our backs. The actions of a prick, basically.
  7. Shat on Aberdeen from a great height, we should have told him to ram his book signing.
  8. Aye, slow off his line and indecisive - should have smothered the ball but let it run on and then was out of position. The cross should have been stopped by his colleagues, but he certainly compounded their frailties. Made a complete James Hunt of it for ICT's 2nd on Saturday too, but I don't think you're allowed to say that here.
  9. was just about to say that, Tom... Also, would it not make more sense to just find a better system of knowing who should or who shouldn't get free prescriptions?
  10. Prescription charges? Someone wouldn't move country because they get charged £4 an item? Really? Free prescriptions should be the case for those who genuinely can't afford it, everyone else should be paying for them, a total fucking nonsense that they aren't.
  11. "Fergie Rises". Out this week I believe. You should buy a copy.
  12. ...as part of Michael Grant's new book launch. There will be a Q&A with the world's greatest ever centre back pairing. Starts at 6pm, Sauchiehall St branch.
  13. Probably jumped at the right time. Stock is high, was he going to beat an 11th place finish when his board didn't back him in the transfer market? I would be surprised if he's out of work for long... could be a good bet for the next Aston Villa manager.
  14. They would need to give him £1m pay off if they were to sack him. They don't have that money. They're both stuck with each other. A deserving marriage, the cheating cunts.
  15. They'll still win the league by 20 points. I'd honestly say we have a better first XI, but they have a huge squad and over the course of the season, that'll be the difference.
  16. Can empathise with this. Fed up with the sanctimonious attitudes on both sides. Politicians, largely, are wankers. Self serving wankers, too. Whether they're English or Scottish, or at Westminster or Holyrood, in the UK or an indy Scotland, that's unlikely to change in the forseeable future.
  17. Two very poor sides. Ian Murray saying Hibs have improved... aye, improved to pathetic. If Hearts don't pump the two of them in the first two weeks of the season I'd be surprised.
  18. have a great time Kow, all the best. ps did you not want to go somewhere with decent pubs...?
  19. They are easily the best team we'll play this year. Passed the ball around us at will and 2-0 was about right. Still in it, but we need to give them more to think about at Pittodrie. Russell Anderson was fantastic again. The guy is an absolute star.
  20. Glasgow Red Stars are running a bus for the Sociedad home leg. Pick up at North Hanover St at 3.30pm, then pick ups in Cumbernauld, Stirling, Dunblane and possibly Broxden services in Perth. If you are interested, please email clubfutbolaberdeen@gmail.com.
  21. Nope, you inferred it.
  22. I know this. I didn't suggest you did say that.
  23. For a lover's tiff would we not have to be lovers? I can assure you, that isn't the case. Well, not since he dumped me, anyway... I did see Tyrant's response, I didn't bother replying because I just assumed that anyone who knows anything about football would know Scholes was the superior player.
  24. Still better than the current joker, in fairness, but I'll admit there's a fair amount of stigma around the guy now.
