  1. Folks, If you're in Glasgow this weekend and can't make it to Pittodrie for the big match, get yourself along to The Rock in the West End to cheer on the Dons with fellow Reds. Should be a big turn out for it, if you can make it along, let's make sure we out-shout the local tims! COYR!!!
  2. Was that an attempt at zonal marking? Didn't seem to be much of one or the other, either way it was bordering on the preposterous at every set piece. A good team performance in terms of will to win, attitude, fight and a decent fist of attacking England let down by something that happens on the training ground essentially. That's Strachan's bag, not the lads asked to carry out his instructions.

    Jon Brookes

My favourite band and he was my favourite Charlatan. Great drummer and great bloke. They brought out a DVD this summer called Mountain Picnic Blues and it has a documentary of the making of Tellin' Stories and the Tellin' Stories gig they played at the Barras last year. His playing on Get On It and Sproston Green is amazing and he always drove their live performances. Would urge you to get it if you don't already have it.
  4. Really sad. I met Jon a couple of times and he was a lovely bloke and an absolutely top drummer. I knew things weren't great for him - was down south seeing them at Delamere Forest last month and Pete Salisbury from the Verve was standing in for him - but never thought it was this bad. RIP JB
  5. Some of you may enjoy this, decent article: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/aug/10/england-scotland
  6. I definitely appreciate what you mean regarding the Scandinavians. Parnevik was a player who always threatened in majors but couldn't get across the line and Bjorn the same, just something missing in them.
  7. Put a few quid on Stenson yesterday morning, had a few on Day from the start of the tournament - good of him to finally show up today. Duffner's putting is pretty hoop and I'm not sure Furyk can see these things out after last year's capitulation. Someone may well win this by default almost.
  8. Everyday's a schoolday.
  9. It looks like Jim Furyk (bottle merchant) is wearing a pair of Adidas Samba today. Perhaps a nod to the old school soccer casual movement or he's playing 5s later on tonight...
  10. Not noticed that one MBT, but the "MASH POTATO" shite they come out with when someone hits a drive really grinds my gears; surprised one of them hasn't been forced to eat the thick end of a 7 iron.
  11. Good article by Daniel Taylor on Suarez: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/aug/07/luis-suarez-liverpool-arsenal-loyalty
  12. I'd add Michael Hart to that too.
  13. Not really sure why anyone cares anymore. He played a handful of games for us and left, it's a shame the way it worked out but it's his choice. We've lost far better players than him and survived. I certainly don't wish any ill on him but I really just don't care what happens in his career if he isn't at The Dons.
  14. They've not even started their league season yet! Wallace has been offered to sides down south, supposedly Wigan and Forest.
  15. Rumours are that Wallace, Shiels and Black will be offloaded.
  16. Wonder if HMFC never paid him for them putting his winners medals on display... Oh wait.
  17. Supposedly was absolutely hoop at Bristol City...so much so that Foster got a game ahead of him.
  18. He was probably just pissed off that we never replaced David Robertson properly. He’ll find out tomorrow night that we still haven’t…. I met him a couple of times and he was spot on. I thanked him for his penalty save in the 1990 Scottish Cup Final, he replied with “It was nothing.” Class act. He was absolutely colossal for years. What that cunt McCoist did to him was unforgivable.
  19. Legend: http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20130724/fc-twente-theo-snelders_2212158_3326557
  20. Really, Ally? I'd say McCoist is prime suspect... heard there was a decent R*angers Coach about and thought he was going to get sacked....
  21. Poulter took bogey on 18 yesterday because his putt simply wasn't good enough, bugger all to do with course set up. Sour grapes again from him. If things continue in the same manner, the guys out early tomorrow will have the best of it, could have a huge amount of guys in with a chance come Sunday.
  22. Fellaini is never a United style player. I hope Kagawa features heavily next season, absolutely superb player.
  23. Cheers mate. We won't be down there at all I'm afraid, furthest west we go is Dumbarton this season. Playing Troon IFC in a pre-season friendly but that's up in Glasgow.
  24. You'll go far this season.... GS - cheers mate.
