Red Stars 2013-14 - Glasgow's Dons Supporters Team
BobbyBiscuit replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
You're already being spoken about as the one who got away, Tyrant. Thanks for your honesty and good wishes. -
Hi folks, Glasgow’s Aberdeen Supporters Team begins pre-season training next Tuesday at Ruchill Park. Pre-season training will go Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday for three weeks and then we’ll have three pre-season friendlies in a week before reverting to Wednesday training and matches on Sundays. We play in the Scottish Supporters Football League and are looking for new players for all positions. If you are a Dons fan in the Central Belt area interested in coming along please contact us at clubfutbolaberdeen@gmail.com or reply to this message. We have been drawn against Airdrie (last year’s league champions), the huns, St Mirren and Hamilton Accies in the League Cup and this is likely to be played midweek from the end of August to the middle of September, so with league fixtures starting on the 18th of August we are in for a fast start. We want to make Red Stars the best supporters team in the Central Belt, if you want to be part of that and have the pleasure of playing in the same side as Donstalk’s very own Azteca please do get in touch. Cheers.

Aberdeen looking after their own backyard
BobbyBiscuit replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Completely. And it's not just about the youth, the whole scouting "network" seems to be only looking in the same places time and again. Maybe that isn't accurate, but it certainly seems the case from the outside. -
Speaking to some huns I work with (I know, I know) and they reckon Wylde was utter hoop for them. "Fast but doesn't actually do anything with the ball...a bit like Ricky Foster" was one of the more complimentary statements on him. Could just be sour grapes now that an ex player of theirs has reached top flight football, and I certainly hope it is, can't say I can recall seeing the guy play.

So you think the current No.2 in the world, current US Open champion, Olympic gold medalist (at the venue this grand slam event is at) and last year's beaten finalist is a 10/1 shot? I'd say 4/1 is good value with all that conisdered.
-
there's no way Murray should be a 10/1 shot for Wimbledon.

THE OFFICIAL: "LET'S ALL LAUGH AT HEARTS"
BobbyBiscuit replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Football Chat
Years of frustrating cutbacks due to years of mis-management at the very top - going back to Donald Jnr. Could even say his father was short sighted in knocking back sponsorship when we were at our peak. -
Really sorry to hear that mate. All the best to you. Stand Free.

Got cash on Tim Clark and Jason Day for this. Also tipped Nicholas Colsaerts to someone who asked for a tip...never put any cash on him and he's doing the best out the three

BobbyBiscuit replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Football Chat
It may be harsh, but it serves him right. You'd have to be a right special case to think everything is going to turn out alright with that lot. Got no sympathy at all for him. I'd take him though, if he can play in goals. -
Aye, a lot of the locals carried crow bars...must have been a fashion accesory down there.

Gothenburg Anniversary Night in Glasgow
BobbyBiscuit replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
It's been a tough season mate. We've had a lot of injuries - two of our best players actually had to retire due to injury - and the biggest squad we've had all season has been 14 which was just the once. Compared to last season (4th place finish) where we had an average of 15 boys along every week, it's been a tough season. We're sitting 8th, with two games left. Just looking to get the season over and done with now to be honest. We're losing a lot of players in the summer but we've already got a few new lads lined up to come in. Need a good pre-season under our belts and hopefully go into the new season in better shape. -

You'd have hated it, it was in Glasgow. You know what those Glasgow types are like... -
Who should McInnes be keeping and who should he be moving on?
BobbyBiscuit replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I hear that McInnes is deeply unimpressed by AFC - the setup, the players he's left with and the vision for the future. I get the feeling that if he could, almost all of the senior squad bar the obvious ones - Anderson and McGinn basically - would be moved on. He's a big job in the summer, but at least it sounds as though he realises this and wants to get on with it. -

Folks, thank you very much for coming along and contributing to a fantastic night. And a massive thanks as well for your generosity, we raised a great amount (total still to be confirmed!). While it's fantastic for Red Stars, it is also great to get the Glasgow based Reds together, hope to see you all again soon. Thanks again. "You're a greedy cunt" -

Gothenburg Anniversary Night in Glasgow
BobbyBiscuit replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Folks, Not long now until the big night... just wanted to give those that are attending an idea of how the night will take shape. We're starting the match at 7.20pm. We'll then have an extended half time break which will be used for a Q&A for our special guests. The rest of the game will be played with small breaks for drawing the raffle - prizes include a signed top, signed ball, prints donated kindly by DollyDigital - and announcing the winners of our Dons In Europe quiz (pretty tough quiz, get studying tonight). If you're coming along please get there as close to 7 as you can so you don't miss the start of our evening. The night is being run primarily to raise funds for Red Stars, and we're also looking for players, so if you're interested please speak to one of us on the night. Hope to see a lot of you there and that you have a fantastic evening. COYR -
Confirmed as retiring

Every game that season was all ticket, you couldn't pay at the gate if I remember correctly, so while you're right you're also not comparing like for like... i.e. if folk didn't have a ticket they couldn't just walk up on the day and that clearly has an effect on attendances.
-
Figures from that season are skewed due to us only having 3 stands as the Beach End was being transformed into a monstrosity.

Thanks Manc. If anyone has any enquiries about the night, please just email the address on the flyer, as I'm away for the next 3 weeks as of today so won't be picking anything up on here. Cheers.
