Dirthy Filthy Hun Scumbag Vermin (deceased) and Poundland tribute act
BobbyBiscuit replied to mizer's topic in Football Chat
What's the deal with BT? do they get exclusive live matches or show some live matches which Sky are also showing? They only have one year left, according to the radio. They'll walk after that. Because they'll get more in advertising costs for any huns matches, which is half of their matches near enough. -

Big problem is that ESPN are a big company, and have a bit of clout behind them, if they are walking away from it then it would put smaller channels off, particularly when Setanta went tits up and that was with the huns in the league. -

It was said on Sportsound on Tuesday that they expect ESPN to walk away from Scottish football now, but Sky won't. -
You really think the likes of Albion Rovers can afford to fly their players to Wick? I know that isn't how these things should work but that is how it will work.

This whole scenario has seen some pretty horrendous lies, quotes and actions from those in power. It's brought out the worst in journalists, broadcasters and some sections of supporters. But last night, for me, new depths were plunged while listening to Jim Spence, Stuart Cosgrove and Jim Traynor... They all agreed John Brown was a good footballer. I mean, seriously? Come on to fuck. -

Minor details GS. They also don't have a membership for anywhere, but fuck it... let's just start signing people anyway. They've also got no income, but that's also beside the point. -

Dependent on where their future lies. I'd imagine if it's 1st Div or SPL he'll sign, can't see anyone committing to playing in the third. Or anyone committing to a football club who have nowhere to play... -

No, it was definitely right the first time. What makes you think they care that fans of the diddy clubs won't turn up? They have had the responses of fans in front of them for months now... they know the feeling out there but still want to push this through. That in itself shows you how bothered they are with the threats. -

Surely he must realise that if the huns are in the SPL next season, there is a strong possibility they won't be able to fulfil their fixtures due to a number of reasons? And if that's the case, surely that would cost the game more than the figures he's currently making up to suit his agenda? -

Especially given that a senior SFA official told Alex Thomson that they shouldn't even have been allowed to enter last season's SPL. -

Sky reporting that Doncaster's plan for newco in 1st Division is "badly received" by SFL clubs. -

Sky quote from 18 June: -

Doncaster tells the SFL meeting that we'd lose upwards of £17m from the game per season as all contracts (3 in total, Sky, ESPN and one other) need the huns in the top division. Why's he telling that to the SFL? Makes no difference to them. If they vote for Div 1 what happens in the intervening year before they are clearly, automatically promoted to the SPL? We all can't trade due to the huns not being there? Fuck off. -

Even if they are in the third, they'll be in administration before long and round and round we go. -

I don't see how the "year out" option is a viable one. For a start, the Newco still won't have 3 years audited accounts. If it is true that Spartans are applying for the place (and it is rumoured they are being actively encouraged to do so by senior teams) then there is no scope to go with a one team down scenario - of course the decision could be that none of the clubs applying are fit to take the remaining place, but if that's the case, why would the Newco be able to fulfil the criteria a year down the line when they've had zero income for more than 12 months? Would the SFL then accept Spartans, making it clear it was a carve up in the first place? It's now or never. If they don't get accepted to the third - and I am not convinced they will, they are defunct. Dead. No longer. Fingers crossed. -

I think a lot will depend on the SFL meeting today. If the consensus from them is third division, I don't see how we can just drop them back into the SPL. That could see severe consequences. One SFL chairman has told Sky that the huns taking a "year out" is probably the best option. They could go interrailing round Europe or something, do a bit of voluntary work... Anyway... I still think this could all be irrelevant as there just won't be a huns next season in any guise. -

AFC NEEDS YOU!! - DST STATEMENT
BobbyBiscuit replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
AFC for once are doing the right thing and showing some backbone, they can't say "Rangers should start in Division 3" because that doesn't cover the fact that they're not certain to get entry to Division 3. If a space opens up teams like Spartans and Linlithgow Rose can apply, it would be wrong for him to assume the NewHuns would get that space. But then, it doesn't matter what he says because some will never be happy with it. -

That's because they'd have to look at all applications for Division 3 individually. If they're not voted into first, as they shouldn't be, then I'd imagine a new meeting would have to be set up for them going into third, especially if there are other applicants. -

Latest DST statement is suggesting other clubs (not the Dandies) may not be voting the way they have stated... -
I know, and I really can appreciate why folk do have the attitude of sacking the whole thing considering the current shenanigans. I think my point was general, and not specifically about the huns situation - there seems to be a lot of people who spend a lot of their time watching and talking football but don't seem to take any enjoyment out of the game at all.
