I'm not really arsed about Scotland at all, but I think in this thread the sentiment behind your posts is right. Football is important to so many, but sometimes people forget that the game is there for enjoyment. Football is the best sport in the world, we all have our favourite football memories and the brilliant thing about it is that you know there will be so many more to come. I don't think we should deprive ourselves of such moments.

People are still presuming there is going to be a Rangers entity next season. There may well be but I'd be amazed if there was. Little over a month away from the season starting and they don't have a squad which could attach itself to whoever the fuck owns the name or the stadium or the training ground... All of which has to get ironed out and that's before there are anymore claims to the assets. Would anyone actually be confident of this being in place in time not to mention signing new players, getting insurance, satisfying the ruling bodies that fit and proper persons are running it etc? Green doesn't give a fuck if there's a hun team in the SPL, Div1, Div3 or the Andorra Amateur Sunday League, he's there for the assets alone... the long term health of a football team calling itself Rangers or an equivalent matters not a jot to him. And then there's the x amount of court cases, tribunals and appeals to be settled. Just stop the charade and put them out their misery and let us get on with supporting our team and let the likes of Dundee know where they stand; a new huns competing in senior Scottish football in 2012/13 just isn't likely to happen no matter how much chest thumping John Brown does. -

You think that is going to stand up in a court of law? HMRC will pursue them the second they pay a debt relating to the Oldco. The SFA sets the rule with regard football debt because that's all they have jurisdiction over, other creditors will pounce as soon as that happens, and rightly so. -

Absolutely. As I said above, the taking on of the debt of the oldco makes it a non-starter. Why would anyone at the helm of a newco agree to take on potentially +£90m worth of debt just so they're in the Scottish First Division? It's not going to happen even if the clubs all voted for it, which they won't. -

From the BBC's report: if this is the case, I'd fully expect HMRC to pursue the "newco" for their money. This is all bollocks, it's an attempt to appease their marauding hoardes of bampots. They have no future if the above is true. -
Sorry for another hun thread, but as they won't exist at all soon we might as well milk it for all it's worth. The idea of this one is to recall your favourite and not-so-favourite moments from Dons matches v the hun. Whether it's results, tackles, fights, goals... put them here; tales from your days out against them, youtube clips, pictures... whatever. There have been some fantastic talking points from these matches through the years, and the other day I thought "I'll miss them..." and then I snapped out of it and realised this is all for the greater good... Here's my starter for 10: http://www.afc.co.uk/javaImages/a2/a6/0,,10284~10921634,00.jpg[/img]

Court of Session ruled the embargo couldn't stand. The appeal is to be heard again (suspension from SFA likely) but as you guess that has been delayed. Delayed as they're not going to exist in any form, is my guess. -

More huns expected to reject move to Seb Coe tonight according to Alisdair Lamont (BBC). -

AFC STILL officially say NO TO HUNS NEW CO

Is he not the guy who's organising the Olympics...? -
Can't have a playoff now for the reasons MBT pointed out regarding changes to the squads. It should really be Dunfermline in my opinion, they played in a league last year where one team cheated for the duration. Had the huns been chucked out last season which was a possibility had all this kicked off earlier, there would have been no relegation. In saying that, I'd prefer Dundee back in too.

oh... and further good news... Chick Young is not renewing his contract with BBC next season. I'd say he's been pushed rather than him jumping however. I'd imagine Billy Dodds will be coming to a similar decision in the next couple of weeks. -

I'm talking more of the positioning once the season starts and we're hun-less. Milne made the point that we're at the forefront of changing Scottish football, is it a case he's worked it so that all the "diddy clubs" are singing from the same hymn sheet, and will move any future votes exactly how we want them to go, pushing Celtic along with us if they like it or not? -

Celtic's silence is intriguing me. They missed the meeting at Milne's house; they did get an invite and yet chose to not meet the other clubs. I'm almost certain they'd vote yes and the other clubs are forcing their hand here. A "yes" Celtic vote is horrendous pr for them hence the request for a secret ballot. They could lose a fortune in lost ST sales. Are the "other 10" effectively bullying the tims? -

YAAASSSSSSS!! -
1. So what? Who's to say there won't be a big push and the offer of the early bird prices from now on? Have you ever thought this would have been announced yesterday were it not for the fact that a club legend passed away yesterday? 2. Aberdeen never give figures on Season Ticket sales. What difference does it make if the kids tickets are counted in that or not? 3. All fair points and not something I'd ever disagree with, but you have the vote you wanted and you still moan about that specifically. What's the point? It's really hard to get any level of satisfaction from AFC these days, so when they actually do something to provide it, is it really that hard for you to enjoy it?
-
Why shouldn't they phone around trying to sell season tickets? If they didn't, you'd give them grief for that too. The statement about season tickets was they were at a similar level to last year at this point... how can you possibly say that is untrue when no figures have been given for either year? You say it because you just a want a whinge at the club. I know Milne originally was going to vote yes, but that changed a few weeks ago. Why are you still moaning about this when you've got the vote you wanted? I also think you'll find the people on the board who wanted the yes vote even when Milne changed his mind are no longer on the board.

I honestly can't see them being ready to be in Division 3. I believe the Greater Glasgow Amateur Sunday League are still accepting teams. They'll need to be quick though, got to be registered by the 1st of July... -
Never in doubt. Really couldn't believe the scaremongering that was going on about this from Dons fans (aye, you Mizer) - I know we're all miserable bastards but there was just never any chance AFC was voting them back in.

I have to say I can't help but have my doubts on this. I noticed the investigation into the dual contracts only goes back to the start of the SPL (98, i believe). I see no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt for anything under that administration. As for the rest of your post.... -

Exactly, that's why they're in these positions - to make decisions in our interests. -
Ah fuck. Great guy and gave so much of his life to the Dons. Stand Free Teddy, wherever you may be.
