If this was solely about the huns vote, and the feeling was they were going to be voted in, why would we change the board line up? If they were going to get in, does that not just mean more of the same for us? Gilbert and Little, I believe, almost certainly haven't walked because they wanted to vote no and Milne and Fraser wanted to vote yes. There is an issue regarding AAM using EBTs and it is common knowledge HMRC have been in touch with them about it. It is very possible Milne wants AFC to be "clean". Miller going saves around £85k a year, supposedly (Or £85k a day depending on which site you read...), that goes someway to compensating for the loss of revenue the huns bring in one visit - 4,000*24 = £96k, take off extra policing and stewarding costs and there you go, we've made that money back already. On our past few seasons we have only had the OF at Pittodrie three times in a season due to us finishing in the bottom 6. If we get top six next season, we'll have Celtic at home twice, no visit of the huns. But money we've saved from Miller's redundancy means we effectively break even on that score. For once, I do actually believe the club may be doing the right thing; it's a re-structure. Guys like Gilbert and Little haven't been sacked. If anything it all points to the fact we know the huns aren't going to be around next season in whatever guise. This could be the start of something where AFC finally gets up off it's knees and realises what we can actually achieve given these circumstances. This is probably "it" for Milne. He effectively has an almost brand new board considering last year's arrivals too. If nothing changes, it'll be his proverbial death warrant, but maybe this will actually go some way to making up for all the insipid years under his stewardship. I certainly fucking hope so.

I doubt it. AAM were losing interest some time ago. I'd imagine this has more to do with the new stadium than anything else. EDIT: I think this quote from SM points to cost-cutting/streamlining whatever you want to call it due to the huns demise:

Supposedly Northsound reported this morning that AFC will vote No to a Newco. The club has a statement on Redweb this morning saying that sporting integrity will be at the base of any decision that needs to be taken over this situation and that it has taken on board the supporters view points as well.

I think there is so much of this still to run that once liquidation actually arrives (at least a fortnight), is it even feasible a newco will be in any shape to play anywhere? There are going to be issues over control of the assets that could run and run - the longer that goes on, the longer it'll take for an application to be made. I really think it's a likely scenario that there is no huns fc next season in any league.

It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility but there are issues with both sites. For example, would Milne or Bett want the ground to build flats on? Not likely considering the surrounding area. Tesco or the like is a possibility but again in the surrounding area there's a massive ASDA. There is every chance it's not Green - I'd be amazed if he has the money or the desire to go through with all this - but I still envisage it being used for football. Hope not though!

I actually don't remember Grant getting pelters as much as Bett and Connor. There has been some amount of revisionism as far as Bett goes, especially on Abmad (it's a good forum, just stating a fact). Bett - cracking player, bags of skill and a joy of a player on form. Bett played with a few cracking centre mids - Simmie, Peter Nicholas and Granty - but he peaked alongside Grant, but there were many games Bett couldn't be fucked and Grant basically did it all by himself. Grant picked up after Bett, he was essentially his sweeper. Conner... skillful player but a massive shitebag, only out shitebagged by Ian Cameron... Amazingly, AFC managed to sign him too! On topic though... I'd give my right ball for AFC to have someone of Paul Mason's ability these days.

Aye, could be that indeed or worried about losing fans in the long term. There certainly seems to be a change from the chairmen over the last couple of weeks.
