  1. Utd chairman Thompson saying that SPL clubs are very unlikely to vote in a huns newco and that the SPL will be just fine without them, thank you very much.
  2. Big time, Al... watched our 6-2 demolition of Hearts a while ago; midfield of Bett on the right, Grant and Richardson in the middle and Mason on the left. Everyone of them was two footed and were hitting short-mid and long range passes with both feet. Bett was showing off by hitting in-swinging corners from both sides of the park. Not one of those players was ever replaced adequately. Paul Mason gave me one of the best bounces ever as a Dons fan when he scored the winner v the huns in 89; remember the headline on the back page of one of the tabloids the next day, above a picture of him netting the winner; "Who's the Mason in the Red?"
  3. Great stuff, cracking player for us: http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20120607/the-fps-club_2212158_2803284
  4. Following on from Alex Thomson's tweet late last night that HMRC are "Ready" (Geddit??), from one of this morning's gutter rags:
  5. Not bad at just defending, but in reality he was exceptionally bad when he had the ball at his feet... never a good thing for a footballer, regardless of position these days.
  6. Thank fuck for that.
  7. Caddied on Sat at Gleneagles for the Aberdeen Oilmen GA Tournament. On the PGA course (ryder cup course for 2014), had an enjoyable day and made good money, but have to say the King's Course is a better track and a better venue for 2014 in my humble opinion.
  8. Fifa have been in talks with the SFA over the huns situation and they are on-going. They hope to release a statement later today.
  9. I think the SFA are going to fuck them. I reckon they'll be given a suspension; in turn, they'll not be able to play any SPL matches (SFA provide the refs, can't ref a game involving suspended club) until they prove they can satisfy the conditions set by the SFA. The COS decision is probably the worst possible decision if you are a hun bastard. Apparently - in other bad news for the vermin - Doncaster has breached the patience and confidence of the SPL chairmen. I really wouldn't worry about his statements; the SFA are likely to take any meaningful decision out of his incompetent hands. I hope.
  10. Liverpool jumping in too early again. see also; Henderson, Jordan and Carroll, Andy. I had hoped Lambert would stay at Norwich for another season. If he had managed to keep them up when the second season is notoriously difficult for recently promoted teams, then I think he really would have cemented his standing and would probably have a better choice of jobs than Villa. They are on a downward spiral with a rather mundane squad and an owner who no longer seems that keen on spending money on it.
  11. Don't think he should ever have expected anything, no one owes him a living. I'm surprised he's not found another job, if anything the way he left Kilmarnock probably put many chairmen off him in these times when money is tight.
  12. Alasdair Lamont[!]8207;@BBCAlLamont SPL clubs approve new fair play rules. Decision on newco to be taken by all clubs. 13. SPL meeting this morning. St Mirren chairman Gilmour states that "some votes were taken" and also "Huns have set a dangerous precendent in taking the appeal to the COS. Sport should stay within sport". From RTC: I think this is actually a very viable scenario. A mere suspension shows how serious the SFA are about this, but doesn't drive home the killer blow to the huns. Leaves the onus on them.
  14. Goes back to the Appeal Tribunal. They could expel them. UEFA will be taking a strong interest now I'd imagine too.
  15. Delusional, disrespectful and utterly disgusting.
  16. They've got until 16 June to file their accounts for last year. Never going to happen. A token gesture in the hope they've died by the time that comes around.
  17. According to a poster on RTC there is a huge story still to break - a story described as nuclear, far worse than anything we've heard so far and will make them unsellable. Match fixing?
  18. Huns are appealing the transfer embargo at the Court of Session. QC paid for by the "fighting fund" which shows how desperate they are. Suggestions on Twitter that this has been pushed through on the word of Green. Think they're now playing a dangerous game, they're almost willing tougher sanctions to fall their way when they've been told they're lucky to only receive what they have so far.
  19. Good interview with Dunc on the official site: http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20120524/the-afc-fps-club-_2212158_2787567
  20. I can't see the clip as i'm in work, but presume it's the 3-0 game at Ibrox where Paterson and Burns are sent off? I was thinking about this the other night; when I was a kid the general consensus between all of my mates was that the huns were "hackers", they'd snarl and kick their way through matches. It may just be the passing of time and the clear "anti-rangers agenda" I have had since then, but it's still the way I remember it. From Gregor Stevens, Hugh Burns and Terry Butcher all the way through to Terry Hurlock, Graeme Souness and later to guys like Kevin Muscat and Michael Ball. The fact Souness bought players like John Brown and Davie Dodds simply because they had the nerve to kick/elbow his players speaks volumes. Take a look at the 1993 Scottish Cup Final, the dirty bastards kicked Booth all over the park that day, nothing was done about it. A win at all costs attitude that was clearly prevelant through the whole stinking vile organisation for years. Fuck them and I really hope we're the ones sticking the boot in when they're down.
  21. Yes. Local councils contributed towards most of the new stadiums in Germany, and they also help to keep ticket prices down as they believe football should be affordable for everyone.
  22. We wouldn't even be discussing this as a possibility if he had never played for us. Let him go and learn the ropes elsewhere, if he does well, consider him then but only because he's good at his job and not just because he once played for us. Another thing to consider though... if he was hacked off with the board's lack of ambition in his final days here as a player, what on earth is he going to think of them now should he ever become manager?
