  1. Latest tweet from Sone:
  2. Huns are being investigated by the Stock Exchange for failing to disclose Whyte's previous directorship ban and could be fined £100,000 as a result. It's not clear yet if Sone Aluko will be able to stretch his savings this far.
  3. I hope he wakes up to the fact he's a fucking bellend.
  4. Pat Fenlon (ex Bohemians) is the new manager of Hibs.
  5. Completely different situation but even then there was animosity, just not in the same scale as Beano had. Theo had been sitting on the bench for us; a bonafide great player for AFC held in reserve so that Mikey watt could literally throw matches away. Roy Aitken is a cunt. And I'll treat Aluko as one too if he signs for them. It's called being a fickle football fan. The reasons he's signing for them don't come into it really. If he didn't used to play for us but still signed for them, I'd still have no time for him as he's playing for "them". It's just part of football, the game is sanitised enough nevermind not being able to give an ex player a hard time because he's signed for a hated rival.
  6. Forever in the shadows, eh Sone?? Hope it stays that way.
  7. I'd be amazed if he's even there.
  8. Thought you were talking about Ted McMinn there...
  9. A horrendous touch would suggest "probably not"
  10. That whole thread is fucking tragic.
  11. Not selling Jelavic for £9m in the summer is looking pretty fucking foolish right now then.
  12. Van Basten clearly wasn't fit at Euro 92, just wasn't his usual sharp self and the fact he missed a penalty in the semi v Denmark kind of summed up the tournament for him.
  13. The one in that selection against England (he got 3 that day) is a sensational goal I think. If you see a replay of it from behind the goal, he actually scoops the ball up to get it over Adams's foot. This was after an amazing first touch and turn. Great finish too. He ripped Tony Adams to pieces that day... I'm not surprised he turned to drink, I think van Basten haunted him from that day on.
  14. In honour of the Euro play-offs, here's the top ten goals from Euro '88: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv4IgrV4HVM&feature=related Just the 3 from van Basten... not bad!
  15. Folks, Red Stars have a couple of squad positions to fill and we're looking specifically for a goalkeeper and striker, however all positions will be considered. Anyone interested in playing for Glasgow's Dons supporters, should contact Greg at clubfutbolaberdeen@gmail.com to arrange to come along to training for a trial. There are 3 spaces in the squad to be filled. we are currently just 2 points off top spot in our league, the Scottish Supporters Football League. The team play on Sundays and train Wednesdays in Glasgow, however have players from all over Central Scotland.
  16. Poor.
  17. Bizarre reason for wanting to go to a match. Blackburn are 11/10 Draw No Bet for that, think that could be worth taking if you're a betting chap. Wigan are fucking hoaching (as are BR, but Wigan moreso) and have Gary Caldwell at the back. Enough said.
  18. In/Oot: Oot Pre match: Some pub Match: Cologne v Mainz Post match: Some pub Prediction - 2-2 Crowd: 10000
  19. From the Guardian:
  20. His daughter is called Chelsea, i seem to recall. Fuck him though, and Aluko if he goes there.
  21. I don't for a second believe, incidentally, that you MUST win tournaments to be the best per se - the Dutch sides of 74 & 78 and Brazil 1982 didn't win anything but were superb sides and hard to say that there were better sides at those particular times - but I think your point about perhaps Holland bottling it to an extent last year is a good one. Perhaps if they have a really good Euros in the summer they could be regarded as the best - you never know what will happen to Spain. It will be interesting to watch though, as I think Germany could mean there are at least 3 exceptional sides at the tournament.
  22. It's not just about playing the best football though, is it? It's about being hard to beat, winning matches and tournaments. Spain have won the last two big ones (as far as European teams go). Holland are a very good team, but should have been thoroughly ashamed of themselves after that final. Spain have the medals to prove what a good team they are, until Holland have that, they're going to be a notch below, in my opinion.
  23. And yet still managed to win the WC. And Euros. If you think there's a better international side out there I'd love to know who you think it is.
  24. It never stopped Scotland claiming it in 1967.... Possession stats etc are all well and good, but the only real important thing is the number of goals you score and England got one more than Spain. Credit where it's due, they've beaten the best international side in the world. It doesn't mean much more than that because it's just a friendly, but it's still quite a scalp considering just how good Spain are. Some Scots were creaming themselves at losing 3-2 to them...
