  1. The problem being Anton Ferdinand would probably miss...
  2. Hi folks, As with the Celtic game at the start of the season, there will hopefully be a good crowd of Dons fans watching Saturday’s match in The Rock on Hyndland Road in Glasgow’s West End. There were great numbers of Dandies in for the Celtic game and I’m sure we can improve on those numbers this weekend. It’s a good pub, never any bother, good beers on tap, serves food and has loads of screens for the football. Please try to come along and bring any Dons supporting mates with you; the more the merrier and this will ultimately help support Glasgow’s Aberdeen Supporters football team, Red Stars FC. So, if you can’t make it to Pittodrie on Saturday and happen to be in the Glasgow area, get yourself along to the Rock to support the Dons with your fellow Reds. Hope to see you there. Cheers.
  3. finished 1-6. Great goal from Fletcher on 80mins and as Utd pushed on in last 10, City broke very effectively and put another 3 past De Gea. Ferdinand did not cover himself in glory in those last 10, similar to Evra for the entire 90. AC Milan came from 3-0 down at HT to win 3-4, Prince Boateng got a hat trick
  4. Considering his greatness as a player, that's very sad.
  5. just posted some of the quotes in an other thread, maybe can merge them?
  6. McGhee rips into the club - chairman, players, staff and fans - in an interview with Bryan Cooney. Some of the quotes:
  7. Imagine Brown's voice in a stadium gig..? It'll be bad enough at the SECC...
  8. Quote from today's press conference: "What does it feel like writing for the daily mail; the paper that supported hitler" - Ian Brown
  9. tickets on sale Fri, no mention of cost as far as i can see. Maybe they're free...
  10. Stone Roses to play Heaton Park, 29th & 30th June
  11. Great. I was going to mention Songs From the Other Side but it's a collection of songs over a period of time rather than a bonafide album in the normal sense, as is being discussed here. But it is probably the album I listen to most; Back room window is up there with One To Another for me. Burgess has to start back on the substances again in my opinion. But to take this back to the topic, the run of albums they had at their peak defines and cements their greatness (as does the standad of their gigs), something that the roses will likely never be able to match.
  12. if it is just two dates announced at first, how much do you think they'll be going for on Ebay?
  13. he did a video in the early 90s.. "20 Greats over 20 years" or something like that. Famous for such classic lines from Willie as: "Pump that iron, Theo" and "on yer bike, Stewart" in the peerless "Gym Scene".
  14. It would have been Benny's birthday the other day, there was a good piece on the official website about him. You get a mention... Although I'm delighted to see Paul Mason in there as he was a big favourite of mine it is a bit of a shock. Thought he'd have gone for Strachan, Bett, Simmie and Weir in his midfield. Who would you have gone for in your Dream Team midfield?
  15. Blonde pigeons.
  16. Consider me suitably chastised, TF... even though he passed his opinion off as fact, same thing really but there you go...
  17. Nonsense. WWT, Simpatico, UATL are poor in my view. That would suggest they only have 3 great albums. That's bollocks. Run of 5 starting with Up To Our Hips was fantastic. Some Friendly is a great album too.
  18. It's not going to be much of a book if more than 50% of his team has already been revealed in The Sun!
  19. The board want/need him to be a success because he's so cheap. A lot of rumours about the players being rather unhappy with Lennon and Thompson's drinking, a fair amount of respect has been lost apparently.
  20. Red Stars lost 3-1 today to Airdrie United. We've not had a game for three weeks due to water logged parks. Good match today, Airdrie had most of the play in the first half, but we went in at 0-0 and made a couple of changes. We hit the post with a 30 yard effort and then their keeper pulled off a wonderful save and we had most of the play until they broke and scored. They scored another within a minute but Red Stars rallied and Neil MacDonald hooked a volley into the roof of the net soon after. The game became rather bad tempered after a few poor challenges and reactions from their lot and Red stars had a lot of good play, until a 30 yard volley into the top corner from Airdrie won it. A goal fitting to win any game. Airdrie are a good team and probably edged it today, but Red Stars are still right up there. We have a free week next week but the lads can't wait to get going again. Some great football played in the second half which we'll look to take on to our next match.
