Probably a good 30-40 Dons fans, maybe a wee bit more for Celtic but as you'd expect in The Rock there was no trouble. Everyone had a good few drinks and some grub and I think The Rock is going to be a good home for the Dons. -

Just wanted to say thanks to all the Dons fans who turned up to The Rock yesterday; there were great numbers and I'd have loved to hear the roar in there had we had a goal to celebrate. Hopefully it's the first of many times we get great numbers, it's good to have a home for the Dons fans in Glasgow and as an added bonus it helps Red Stars out too. Thanks again ladies and gents. -
I think for the first time in a good number of years we actually look as though we won't be bullied or pushed over by the likes of Celtic. Osbourne and Arnason are strong players and that has been needed for what seems like an age.

I played against and with Severin and he was a cracking player. He pissed me off in his last couple of seasons with the Dons but I am genuinely sad to hear about that. I really hope he makes it back. His was a talent Scotland never made the most of, and that was never his fault.

What a shower of arseholes.

Brown has said he plans to be there for 5 years or so, so I would imagine that will define our next 5 years, and possibly the next 10 depending on the youth players coming through and how Brown uses them etc. Of course, he could be out the door by this time next year, but that could be the case if it was a 45 year old manager as well. Calderwood was here for 5 years or so, the squad he left us with was in desperate need of repair and yet he is young for a manager and had been there the required time according to your theory, so it's not always going to work out like that. The same could be said for Skovdahl. If Brown gets a good team on the park, it will make it easier to sign players. More success = more money and that's what players are interested in these days, not whether the manager who signed them will still be there in three years time. Brown has said he wants 5 (?) transfer windows before he can call that team his own, so I'd imagine these short term contracts are part of the bigger plan. While I'm not one of these people who says "In Brown we Trust" etc we do have to give him time. The players he has signed so far look to be a better standard than we had, that's already a positive. But none of this will make a difference if he doesn't get them playing.

I know of a huns supporters club who have 40 of its members going over to Malmo for the game and plan to get tickets for it at the ground. If questionned they plan on saying they're on a stag do Sad acts. Hope they get found out and the huns further punished. -

Cheers manc. Yeah, put it up on Mad too. Hoping for a good turnout which could eventually mean more money for Red Stars as well as the obvious advantages of having "a home" for Dons fans in Glasgow. -

Folks, As the Red Stars thread at the top of the board has mentioned, the new Dons pub in Glasgow is The Rock on Hyndland Road in the West End. I spoke to the owner today who has said he'd love to have Dons fans in his pub this Sunday and has agreed to open up at 12pm so we can all get our seats/positions before kick off. Obviously they can't sell alcohol before 12.30pm but I'm sure the Dons won't drive us to drink (or the need to) in the first 15 mins... If you are in the area and want to see the game, please head along. it's always good having a crowd of Dandies together in Glasgow and this will also be helping Red Stars, the Dons Glasgow based football team. The Rock is a friendly pub, and while there will be a lot of 'tic fans there, we want to make the Rock a Dons pub when we're playing. So please come along, we'll be delighted to see you. Cheers, and Stand Free.

Well, it's Stewart Milne, isn't it? And the board before him, the weak Ian Donald (hell of a nice chap I should say, but i wouldn't want him running my business). Their decisions - mainly the managers - have brought about further bad decisions. Deciding to appoint Roy Aitken (still Donald at that time?) when he should have been sacked along with Willie Miller was ridiculous. People seem to forget that Aitken was in charge for the Stenhousemuir game and then a horrendous run before the players finally snapped into life and got us out of the shit. Deciding then to give him a truckload of cash when it was the very thing Willie Miller needed as manager to replace the outgoing veterans such as McLeish, Bett, Mason, Richardson and Connor was a case of bolting the stable door after the horse had bolted. The fact he spent it horrifically is causing us problems to this day, same with the Alex Miller (worst decision in the history of AFC) appointment, as Milne refuses now to speculate to accumulate. The reasoning being "Just in case..." as far as I can tell. They seem happy to strive for not very much at all. This has trickled it's way into the fans and now we're celebrating top six finishes (or were, chance would be a fine thing these days). As soon as we have a glimpse of something good it's taken away from us - JC had a good/solid team which was needlessly broken up in my opinion. We seem utterly averse to building on anything which may make us stronger. The lack of investment is almost criminal; AFC are a big deal in Scotland, I find it almost bizarre that we are in the same financial state now as we were 10 years ago. That just can't be right, can it?

But many would be if it was Richard Gordon.... but the chances of Richard Gordon getting to say that about Aberdeen these days etc and so on and so forth...

As Jute says, it didnt take them long to settle so why should it take us long to settle? Ok, it took Anderson a season to grow into his role... massive difference though... Anderson was a quality player. Foster.... not so much. Brown's excuses after the game were fucking woeful. Injuries cost us etc... fuck off. Is that it? we get 3 injuries and we surrender to St Mirren? This is going to be a painful season.
-
We looked ok at the back last week as St Johnstone had utterly no intention of winning that match. Even when we went down to 10 men they were still content with a 0-0.
-
or... Players, take your fingers out your collective hoop. The writing was on the wall last week. Woeful start, and this month could be a bleak one.

I'll check over the weekend mate and get back to you. I didn't actually realise it was a 12.15 k.o until today, I'm sure I'll be in at some point on Saturday or Sunday and I'll be sure to ask.
