  1. ...another midfielder. Ex Sheffield United and Ferencvaros, currently at Worksop Town...
  2. He signed last night according to the P&J.
  3. the good thing with him signing is that we know what we get with him. I always thought he could have been a really good winger for us but he never really got to where I thought he could be. Frustrated an awful lot for us and his goalscoring record for an attacking midfielder is horrendous. However, he's far from the worst player and when he played his best and ran at the opposition he'd get people off their seats. The one thing I am wondering now is if Brown is potentially going to change the system next season. Seem to have a lot of midfielders. Is he possibly looking at a back three (Consi, McArdle, Mawene) and Clark and Foster as wingbacks? Milsom, Fyvie and Folly in the middle?
  4. I think we have players at the club already who can excite the fans (Fyvie, Pawlett... no pressure, lads ), I think what we really need is a couple of "solid professionals", guys who you know will give you a competent - good performance every week and who the youngsters can trust and learn from.
  5. Player wanted more time apparently...

    Andy Murray

This year may be his year!
  7. It's a signing as well as Gonzalez. Supposed to be a midfielder.
  8. yeah, manc, first day back was yesterday and supposedly in Brown's RedTV interview afterwards he intimated there'll be a signing today who is not one of the trialists. A medical will be done in the morning and then signed with a press conference to follow.
  9. It's obviously dependent on the number of clubs interested. Had Villa said to Liverpool for talks sake "United have basically just offered to pay up his contract" a bidding war begins, because these teams have the financial clout and the player is a proven player in one of the best leagues in the world and is an international. As far as I can tell, Fyvie is neither of those things. You can also not use the big transfers in football as a comparison as a lot of players have a stipulated sell on clause/amount. I'm not sure if we have one for Fyvie, but we really should have something which would suit both us and the player. If he does have one and it's £500k then whoever agreed the deal on behalf of AFC should be sacked. Which leads me on to...How can Aberdeen be cheated out of a good deal for Fyvie? Aberdeen would have to agree to any fee, so how can they be cheated? Jager is right in that the player's contract is likely to be used as a starting point. Negotiations will then kick on from there or stop altogether.
  10. I actually think it's a cop out when you class midfielders as one or the other. When I first heard it being used I just used to think "so he can't tackle and has no interest in running towards his own goal" or "he can't shoot or hit a long range pass, but can tackle and run about a lot".
  11. Exactly. If AFC had anythng about them they'd have got Fyvie on a megabucks contract but we don't do "speculate to accumulate" after the disaster of the early Milne years. Something which was proven when JC's side of Anderson, Hart, Nicholson etc was allowed to break up over a matter of peanuts, essentially.
  12. Centre mid. would like Modric in there as he can go box to box as well as being a playmaker type (i.e. what we all used to call - remarkably enough - "a midfielder"). Don't see where Sneijder would fit in as he would occupy the same area of the pitch as Rooney when he drops back.
  13. I'm going to take a guess at developing footballers at the club. What do I win?
  14. Surely Brown never said that?
  15. His end product better improve, gets himself into some great positions but fails to deliver a lot of the time. I think he can be an exciting player on his day, but consistency levels would have to step up now he's at United. I think he may actually be played through the middle some of the time. Can't see him budging Valencia from the side and would imagine Nani would be picked ahead of him mostly as well.
  16. Aye, well done Rory! Really feared for him after the Augusta collapse but what a way to come back. Delighted for him, seems like a decent guy as well as a great player. First of many hopefully.
  17. We will look unbelievably weak and desperate if we sell him for that amount. Well, more so....
  18. Let's hope Mackie is asked to do a special marking job on Rossi... he might see how a striker is supposed to play. Enjoy your night though Dazzler.
  19. Farmer Brown's boys at Pittodrie
  20. That would probably be the end of me if that happened. He's not my favourite person in the world, it has to be said. The cheating cunt.
