    Andy Murray

What a lot of nonsense, there are always good players around: Connors, Bjorg and McEnroe; Becker, Lendl and Edberg; Agassi and Sampras. Murray isn't better than any of them so the era he's in matters not a fuck. There's no shame in that. But it's a bit of a shame people making excuses for him. The only excuse is that he hasn't got the required part where it matters at that level - in the head. Colin Montgomerie was the same when it came to golf and majors... great talent, but just couldn't deal with the pressure. It'd be a start if he got rid of his mummy from his entourage...
  2. Apparently Terry's love for Hughes goes back to when Hughes was a player there, and Terry was a juvenile and was brought into training one day to watch them. He thought - for a legend - Hughes was monumentally shit in training. He was taken to Stamford Bridge on the Saturday and couldn't believe Hughes was starting. He scored twice and set up another two and supposedly he's been one of Terry's favourite players since. But still, John Terry's a fucking cunt really, eh?
  3. From what I remember, he is a pretty good centre half. Certainly should be a step up from what have and have had recently.
  4. Supposed to be a new signing revealed today at an 1130 press conference. EDIT: Looks as though it's Youl Mawene http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11781_6964414,00.html
  5. Apparently the way he resigned and the "activities" of Joorabchian have unsettled the Villa board who are now not interested in taking Hughes. hate to say it as he's still one of my favourite players of all time, but it does serve him right. He was treated terribly at Man City but he's done the same to Fulham.
  6. Spanish midfielder, came through the ranks at Athletic Bilbao, will be going on our pre-season tour with a view to signing. Apparently he was over at the end of the season for a trial. Must have impressed to some extent.
  7. just as well really...
  8. are you going with a group of guys from Balmedie, by any chance?
  9. I agree with this too. He's the Jimmy Calderwood of England, basically. Gets his teams playing functional football, emphasis on not losing, not great to watch but solid teams none the less and needs money to function.
  10. Aye, exactly what i was thinking on all counts. Of course "playing the right way" has served them so well in recent years when they have attempted to do this and been royally pumped most weeks.
  11. Crikey. What a jammy bastard.
  12. Sam Allardyce is the new manager of West Ham.

  14. Then why buy into the hype? Take the game for what it is. People on here and other forums seem to think matches are shit if they don't end up 4-3 just because of the "hype".
  15. Deary me. Why bother Tom? Football is supposed to be enjoyable. If you don't enjoy it, why do you bother? How Valencia was continually penalised for shoulder challenges is beyond me!! Better side won, good game though.
  16. Big blow for Barca. United as expected really.
  17. Seve was a cracking player for us overall but he never played with the same passion and intensity as Anderson, those two attributes made Anderson a favourite added to his fantastic tackling, heading etc. Seve was running in treacle for the last stage of his Dons career and he didn't look too arsed about it either.
  18. Absolute bollocks. Did you see Seve play in his last two years?
  19. Craig Brown's "big name signing" was going to be Russell Anderson, who was interested in coming back, but has decided to see out his contract at Derby.
  20. what is this legacy badge?
  21. Not sure what i'm putting on yet but Paddy Power are offering a good cash back deal if Barcelona win in 90 mins and your bet loses. Think it includes WDW market, First/last scorer, correct score singles.
  22. Cheers Al. yeah, Portland Park, we've got the hosts and Queen's Park Spiders in our group. Have a great holiday mate.
  23. The noise just goes out to nothing up there though. It'd be better in the Merkie.
  24. Relax, the season's only just finished! We've made an approach for Steve Jennings of Motherwell.
  25. Would it not be more beneficial for Scotland (and the Irish and Welsh) to play friendlies against teams of similar styles to those they'll play in tournament qualification matches, and dare I say it, tournaments? Playing similar style sides isn't really going to help much is it?
