In the days after the 9-0 gubbing, John McGlynn was the name mentioned to me as potentially our next manager. I contacted a Raith fan I know, and he thinks McGlynn is on a 2 year rolling contract; albeit there could be a clause in it re if an SPL team was to come in for him

I concur. Please walk Mark. Retain some dignity.

After tims game and subsequent "only 3 points" and nae hint of an apology interview, I was in the sack camp. I do think he was handed a poisoned chalice so after I calmed down I was in the not to sack (give until Christmas) camp. However defeats to St J and Killie, as well as ICT, since then have me 100% in the he has to go, and asap, camp. ^^^^^ This ^^^^^ Sadly there is as much chance of McGhee resigning as there is of the pope becoming a masonic lodge member.

Category One Refs Vote for Strike

Totally agree re all the pussyfooting around this being Celtic's fault, Lennon's behaviour has been a disgrace and their conspiracy theories / paranoia would be fucking hilarious if it hadn't resulted in serious consequences for others. It is the SFL teams I feel sympathy for this weekend, as they more than anyone depend on weekend gates to survive. Celtic game goes ahead, as do all SPL games, but most lower division games off. -
Excellent post Ajja. I can't remember which thread, however I posted a few days ago that McGhee should walk/go. This was made in a post where I quoted another post I'd made only 2 weeks previously saying why I thought McGhee should be given more time. I'm one of those who has calmed down since the result last Saturday/ McG's subsequent post-match comments which were final straw at the time for me. On reflection, and calming doon!, I think McGhee staying meantime is the correct decision. It was clear he wasn't going to walk, and it would apparently cost circa £400,000 to sack him, Leitch and Meldrum. Whether he gets some of the £400K to spend in the Jan window I would suspect would depend on what happens between now and then. And, aye, before anyone else says it, bloody women changing their mind!!

MBT, nae point worrying about anything that is outwith your control!

Mackie could be out for the season
Aberdeen_Ladette replied to Stewart's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Very bad news As others have said he is not our most skillful player, but he always gives 100% whatever position he is played in, and has scored a few very important goals for us. He is one of us, Aberdeen to the core, which sadly possibly contributed to him giving 100% commitment last night v Esson leading to his injury. Haste ye back Darren. -
I was one of those who was still supporting McGhee, ... A post of mine from 17 October 2010.... After Saturday, I can no longer defend him. The result was horrendous enough, but add to this his post-match interview re it's only 3 points (and no apology) was the final straw for me. McGhee please resign. Sadly it hasn't worked out for you as our manager, but retain some dignity and please just go.

P&J: McGhee not concerned with results at this stage

Jute, you are psychic!! -
I agree FJ, most teams play defensively against us and we find it hard to break them down. Against both sides of the bigot brothers they tend to let us try to play.

McGhee.... "let officers check over his Mercedes CL500 for it's suitablity to tackle frozen winter roads" Are Mercedes nae rear wheel drive and therefore all totally shit on frozen winter roads? Totally agree re nae drink at all when driving. As others have said, thought McGhee had telt all players to curb their alcohol intake many months ago?

Ladies Day - 23/10/10 Hibs Game
Aberdeen_Ladette replied to Rebus30's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Thanks R for your summary of the day, great you had a fantastic day and the team won that day too which I'm sure added to the experience. Still nae convinced that having to wear a dress to the football in October is a good idea though! -
Sponsored a Globe Red last year, and this year a sponsoring a colleague doing it. Great cause, and think Hartley will def grow the best one!

Were padded seats heated? Taking the result out of equation, how would you rate Ladies Day? Value for money? What was it like wearing a dress to the footie?! Hope you had a great day! -
Had to read your post twice Jute, as thought I was visually hallucinating after several alcoholic beverages! I wasn't hallucinating, and you did compliment Maguire twice in different respects in one post!!

Thanks for your reply scotfree. I have followed your suggestion which will now activate a pop-up when I receive a PM, however when I went into Modify Profile I had already said "always" to Notify by email every time you receive a PM (which I haven't been receiving, hence initial post) I don't get the time to be on DT every day, so liked when I used to get email confirmation I'd received a PM.

I used to receive an email to notify me I had received a personal message on here, however this no longer happens. Can this function be recommenced please?

I can't make it to this game. Hopefully it's nae too cauld with you having to wear a frock to the footie (agree, must be red!). I'd probably be thrown oot, as assume swear words will be banned in the "padded" seat area! Have a great day R -

:fingercrossedsmilie: I'm biased, however I do agree that career wise he would be better staying at Aberdeen for another few years. Totally agree Ally -
