  1. Sadly only find the time to read books when I'm away on holiday, when in 2 weeks I read 6 to 7 books. Love Dan Brown, read all his previous 4 books and have bought 'Lost Symbol' for next holiday in January. What would you all recommend? Love psychological thrillers/crime type books.
  2. I'm not one to post rumours, and have heard the following from a very reliable source.... Pawlett injured his toe and was asked to play with injections. He refused, which apparently McGhee didnae take kindly to. Pawlett asked for a second opinion, and last Monday was at a specialist in Glasgow who said the only way forward was an operation on his toe and if he had played on as Aberdeen wished then he would have had a very short career. He will be out for at least 6 weeks.
  3. Totally agree! ... there was no mention of rangers, or football in their (indefensible bigotted) FB posts.
  4. Previous season's I have never seen Zander as lazy, seen him more as a trier who initially showed great potential. However, sadly, as years have gone on appears to be in the "never be that good" category; certainly is at present. Current report card... Must try harder, acknowledge own mistakes and don't try to blame others.
  5. It's known that I'm a Maguire fan, as for years I've thought he has shown potential, however I don't think he is perfect and will criticise when deserved. It disgusts me that some Aberdeen fans have an agenda against him, and have NEVER given him a chance. One of those critics, minijc, recently acknowledged he had been "outstanding" v the huns which I applauded him for. Maguire has played very well recently, both for Aberdeen and Scotland U21's, note to critics... SCOTLAND UNDER 21's, when he was recently Captain and very highly rated. He may have joined our squad, due to alot of injuries, at the start of the season 5 years ago however he is still only 21! Stick your statistics up your arse re games to goals to yellow cards, as he has rarely been played up front through the middle, and never consistently. Scotland's Young Player of the Month - September 2010... to his critics.... gie the loon a chance!
  6. In reference to Thurso MBT, you will have to kill me now too! I had the errrrrrrr pleasure (not!) of going to Watten on holiday wi my Gran and Granda, and it was a highlight to go for a drive to either Thurso or Wick!!
  7. Trying to be optimistic, however Hartley's injury was the straw that broke this sheep's back I'm trying to remain positive, .. as I remember end of November last year being away in London/Crawley for the weekend; we had very weakened team ; but there I was Aberdeen top on, in the hotel bar, though fearing the worst. The euphoria afterwards was brill! This year's team have a backbone, passion and team spirit, as well as showing effort (that has been missing for years) i.e aren't spineless, lethargic, couldn't care less cnuts. However as we know, all our creative players are injured from a paper-thin unbalanced squad.... Hopefully, Good will win over Evil
  8. Totally understand what you mean't now BB, and agree it's a disgrace we went to Motherwell to do a "rangers". Was furious to read McG admitting that.
  9. I wasn't at the game today, but surprised at this comment BB. Surely over the last year or two there have been many more games that would have been more depressing? Why did you feel like that?
  10. I voted Megginson, as as I said in match thread on Saturday night I thought he played very well.
  11. Scoreline flatters them. Pawlett again in middle, and Maguire mainly on wing. WTF?!! Folly great signing, Megginson played very well. Ref worse seen in a long time, nae doubt be given good rating in weegiemedia tmrw. Nikola brought on in centre, thought he lb?! We are still third in the League.
  12. Time for Clangers to be back in goal after yet another goal losing error fae Howard. Two in two games too many. Thought fans singing for Langfield in first half today were totally out of order though, wouldn't have done Howard's confidence any good hearing that.
  13. Went for same as I did last month .... 7 (thought 2 x home wins and draw at St J) Hope to see my first ever win when I've been at Tannalice, think be draw v Motherwell and hopefully beat the huns at home. Off topic... but pmsl at hun neighbours just now... dinnae ken who sings song.. na na na na na I wanna start a fight... na na etc... I'm a rock star... but loud and clear as they must see my light on... they are singing "Aberdeen are shite!!"
  14. Dinnae worry Kow, apparently we got faxed a medical. (Dinnae think tippex would show up?! ) If fit, could be great signing. Still baffling though wi regards defence. Foster passed mair balls to opposition than team mate, but having 4 x CH in defence wi nae back up if injured is just crazy!
  15. I concur. Not optimistic.
  16. Excellent post GS. I wasn't at the game today, however it was obvious last week and from the (lucid) reports of our 2 games since that certain formations only work when when have players played in position, or who can play/have the skills in the formation the manager aspires to.
  17. Apologies if I'm misunderstanding Tyrant.... but I take it you are saying that you couldn't, not wouldn't go to Pittodrie if you couldn't go fraudulently as a student?! Why not? You could go to 10 games in Merkland stand for £170, 8 games in South or RDS for £176, or 6 games in Main Stand for £162. Hello
  18. Devastated for the lad. Stay positive and get well soon Fraser x
  19. I concur P.S. Note the multi-quote gd!
  20. Thanks for (eventually) acknowledging that you do understand my point and agree to an extent. We will have to still agree to disagree on when the club made the decision though. Re your point I've put in bold; my understanding is that if you were a student when you purchased the ST, and have ID to support that then that's okay for the season. Don't know if that will stop you looking like a prick at the gates on match day though!
  21. Maguire played through the middle... scored! . (Peterheid_Loon are you reading this?! ) I couldn't make it last night, however GS I agreed with you on Saturday game review that Maguire needed moved to play through the middle, ... where he plays best! Hopefully Fyvie's injury isn't as serious as many have speculated elsewhere.
  22. Loving that theory (in reverse!) lolol. Puts me back to being under 30!!
  23. Understandable, thought Fyvie re-energised team when he came on. We have to remember he is only 17 though.
