Bavidge has already had a season in League 1, needs to go up a level. Plus ICT are a bit of a basket case at the moment.
-
Nice to see the Scottish FA JD Performance School being highly productive.
-
I'm quite enjoying the Shinnaissance, he seems to be playing with a lot less aggression and frustration, and is committing less fouls and picking up less bookings as a result.
-
So option 1 with a big enough chequebook for compo/brown envelopes then, sorted! Will still be cheaper than the beach option.
-
Nae bother. Plenty of room all around. Probably don't need the houses in the north west corner inside the footprint, but I think they're being demolished to make room for the Berryden dualler if that ever goes ahead anyway. Could also rotate it 45 degrees and move closer to George Street so not building directly over the railway. You'd need to compensate the building owners of the industrial units but I reckon that would cost less than the extra ground work and piling you'd need to do to put the stadium next to the beach. The stadium itself would actually fit inside the empty site itself too, but I guess then you'd need car parking, emergency access, etc, to be underneath the stadium. Either way, a far better option than anything that's been proposed so far.

I still reckon Broadford Works is the perfect site if you include all of the business units between Ann Street and Skene Square and the buildings bordering Hutcheon Street and Maberly Street. It certainly passes the highly technical process of copying and pasting the Pittodrie footprint onto the site using a screenshot of Google Maps. Decent road network (especially if/when they dual Berryden Road up to St Machar roundabout), accessible to just about every existing bus route to/from/in the city, already has a train track running under which could have a station incorporated into it, loads of pubs nearby and could help regenerate the George Street area. Re-use as much of the red bricks in the facade as possible and re-purpose the watch tower as a floodlight to satisfy the heritage people.

Can't say I ever watched Hibs much other than when they played us, but based on those games and his Scotland cameos he never really stood out for me. Looking at the comments on him on the Millwall Forum, he really doesn't sound like someone that would fit into our playing style (or dressing room culture) and apparently turned up for pre-season a couple of stone overweight.

Keskinen seemed to look more dangerous in the middle than out wide. I don’t think he’ll be the out and out winger we were expecting. Vinny played well I thought other than some brainfart decision making.

The HJK player that stood out most was their striker Bojan Radulović, he signed for Huddersfield for £1.2m in January but hardly got any game time and they ended up being relegated to League 1.
-
According to Wikipedia, he has a tattoo of Wayne Rooney fishing on his arm. Edit - found it!
-
Interestingly he has signed from Troyes who are part of the City Football Group. I see Miovski is being heavily linked with Girona this morning who are also part of the City Football Group.

No number for Bavidge is a bit odd.

McGarry doesn’t seem to have the heart to try and beat a man, almost the complete opposite of MacKenzie who would run through a brick wall to try and get to the byline. I’m happy with Jack as our long term first choice left back.
-
I still maintain that Miovski fucking loves being a Dandy. Stick a 5 year contract under his nose with 10 grand a week and a £15 million release clause and I reckon he signs it.
-
He was everything we hoped McGarry would be.

This is a million times better without VAR.

Can someone turn down Mick Kennedy’s mic?

Been a few times with work, can’t remember which one is the Legends Lounge and which one is Madri Lounge but the one with the high tables and bar stools is a bit shit. Queue up to get your lunch, the pies they serve at half time are smaller than the ones they sell in the stands which I thought was grippy as fuck (as in someone has decided to go out of their way to spec a different product with the caterer so customers paying the guys of £100 per head get a slightly smaller version) and after the match being handed a single mini bag of Mini Cheddars. All of that still better than having Steve Tosh spraying his “wisdom” all over the table. The one behind the executive boxes where they have table service is much better and feels more like a premium product.

First impression of Molloy is that he seemed a little lightweight and had a bit of tunnel vision in that he dealt ok with what was in front of him but a few times wasn’t aware of what was happening around him. Confident that he can make the step up from LoI in time but a bit worried if both our central defenders are “projects”. Didn’t get good vibes from Ambrose, although he was clearly far from match fit. That half hour run out would have been perfect for Bavidge I feel, instead he was playing for the kids against Huntly.

Had a wee snoop around Brighton/Ipswich forums. Brighton consensus seems to be that they’ve signed a shitload of expensive wingers and he’s nowhere near making their 25-man squad. Ipswich consensus seems to be that he was mostly an impact sub for them, capable of the odd moment of magic but not really a priority to re-sign. Sounds a bit similar to Duk for us last season. Didn’t start much for WBA either. Could make sense that Brighton want to see him in a team where he’s the main man and see if he can cope with that pressure.

He seems to have turned into Donald Trump halfway through that. -
Unless we use Barron in a similar type of deal to the other McCrorie. Could explain the radio silence on Barron who is now presumably out of contract.

Never understood the love for Bisconti. Absolute dickhead of a man too, I think it was a Rangers game at Pittodrie where he pretended to be injured so he could come off. Ramadani was better than him. I loved Zerouali but he wasn’t anywhere close to being on the same level as Gillhaus. Gillhaus was probably in the top 50 strikers in the world when we bought him. Didn’t realise Bett played under Fergie, I’ll swap Severin in for him then.
-
Snelders McNaughton Anderson McKenna Robertson Mason Bett Jess Nicholas Shearer Gillhaus Can’t remember much about Brian Irvine other than the cup final penalty so possibly him ahead of McKenna.

We’ve ditched gold trim for silver trim. Such a lack of ambition, board oot!
