Whats he done?

Newcastle played well today, and maybe did not deserve to lose 3-1 but Arsenal were frightening in that 10 minute spell, and that goes for Gallas' 'defending' too.
-
Hopefully, and i'm sure you agree here, i'm right in my judgement on this one.
-
+1. Bobby can't believe how much you hit the nail on the head the other day now.
-
Think you seem to be gloriously missing the point that most are making. Comes down to bottle. They have pretty much one minute to walk towards the goal, possibly panicking about not missing and being the scapegoat from thousands of angry fans while there is also plenty of £££'s on the line in bonuses and what not, plus the chance for team mates to have a chance of winning some silverware. Not just as simple as hitting the ball in between a few white sticks.

There are some people saying we believe the club when they say we have plenty youngsters that are good enough and others that don't. The true answer possibly lies somewhere in between?

Bagshaw was the captain and one of the so called star players for Scotland all the way through to 19's. He is now at Peterhead and would be playing Highland League if he didn't have ridiculous wage demands. This is the prime example for me as to why International honours at that age, as great as they are for the player at the time count for fuck all in the long run.

Done a decent job with Motherwell before administration kicked in and had a good timke at Covenrty (I think). EDIT: Also an experienced Assistant Manager.

Utd and Hibs didn't beat us?

Eric Black. Can just imagine him trying to play good football. Also having been down in England as coach/assistant manager theres maybe the chance he has some proper mates you can get us some decent players. Seemed to speak sense when i've seen him as a pundit before.

Man of the Match v Dunfermline

We actually cut teams apart when we do try. Celtic at home, Dundee utd at home. St Mirren at home earlier in the season. Motherwell earlier in the season. The start of the game on Wednesday. Hearts at home we were unlucky not to score more. Obviously i'm just referencing games I was at, and thats just off the top of my head. The killer ball won't always lead to a goal, or even a chance at goal. As i'm saying the Dundee Utd game it was the pass before the cross for Seves goal. -
Don't agree with the booing of the players at 0-0 when we looked fairly comfortable. Only booed the team after the end of the game, because in my opinion they deserved it.

Would like to have seen Lenny brought into the coaching set up for the youth team. A man who commands respect but can see some of his methods being a bit too old school for the modern day footballer. -

Can't tell if this is a dig at me or not but when I was younger i'd been on AFC training courses and was never taught this. Only by Lenny at school, ? ? ? might have been trained by Lenny as well, not too sure. Was actually going to bring up the Dutch because they are great at passing it, keepnig it and picking out the killer pass. If they didn't have the bad attitudes they could have dominated International football. Saw a documentary on the Ajax youth team a few years back and it said scores aren't kept in games until the U15 level and players don't get their steady position until they are 17. Can you confirm this Manc? -

At school we were coached by Lenny Taylor. Tried to get us to pass you players in triangle shapes because it's almost impossible to defend against. When I was young I thought he was speaking pish but as i have grown and understood the game more I can see he was right. I noticed Arsenal and Man Utd seemed to play this way and for me they have been two of the most successful teams of this generation. I wish we could play this way, or at least try. You notice it defensively as well. in the home leg against Dnipro our fans wanted us to push on chase their team down for the ball, which would leave us totally exposed at the back. Totally unbelievable and Jimmy got his tactics spot on in that game by having the lads sit back and hit them on the counter. "FUCKIN' GET INTAE THEM" was all you could hear round about me me and my mate. Morons. -

Jesus christ, the mentality of Scottish football fans is mental. No wonder we're kick and rush all the time here. 3 passes in a row sideways and the crowd start moaning. Players like Ferguson, Lennon and Wilkins were criticised for always passing sideways. Maybe they did, but it was always to someone in their own team. The other team can't score when they don't have the ball and with the ballconstantly moving (whether it's sideways or backwards) your drawing the other team out of position which creates space for that killer pass. Never understood why our fans want us to get the ball up the park instantly, part fo the reason the manager/players far too often play the long ball. Sorry, bit of a rant there. -
Well he mentions penalties a few times in the original post. Complaining that strikers didn't take the penalties. So I guess it will have something to do with the penalties. Sorry I went a bit Robo there!

Thank you and Goodbye / Calderwood's position untenable

I'd like to think that isn't directed at most on this site because it really couldn't be much further from the truth. -

Can't really argue with you. -

Lee Miller is far better on the deck than in the air. I saw us play the long ball to Lovell, Mackie and Stewart plenty of times. I don't see why everyone seems to think we play good football? We don't, and it hasn't bothered me before because we always seem to scrape through in the end. But this one is unforgiveable. -

So that covers last night? What about most games I've seen in the last two years where the tactics always seem to involve the long ball? -

So as you asked me, how do you know this? -
I don't understand your point? Your saying they didn't manage to score in 120 minutes so that means they should definitely be taking pens to redeem themselves? I know people that aren't confident enough to take pens at Amateur level. Really don't see what your trying to say here?

Well he didn't seem bothered by the long ball we continually punted up the field. Hasn't seemed to bother him for the last two years either.
