  1. Depends if new money has moved in and there's been some gentrification. Otherwise shitholes like Dundee, remain shitholes.
  2. Should have just taken the train down from G'burg, through Malmø, Copenhagen then onto H'burg. Hindsight and all that. Gothia Towers is worth a visit in G'burg. Top floor, 360 bar, which gets packed on Fri/Sat nights. Good view of the city, more importantly the stadium and if you're there during daylight hours then treat yourself to a bowl of the prawns, they're legendary. 'The Avenue' is the main strip with all the bars but there's an area a mate took me to which was off the beaten track but I can't remember the name of it other than there being a rock bar called 'Sticky Fingers'. Malmø's ok for a day trip, wouldn't bust a gut to get there if you're on a tight schedule but if you are and you like architecture/buildings then go check out the Turning Torso. I spent an afternoon there just sitting on a bench watching some dudes on fast ropes, cleaning windows. There's a bar at the bottom just outside it called the Torso Twisted(?) which I found mildly amusing. Mark McGhee played for Hamburg. You should look him up on Wikipedia. By and large I've always found industrial towns to have more character, better boozers, earthy people, and all that. One of the most random / best nights I've ever had was up the Reeperbahn in Hamburg on a Monday night. Completely unplanned for I might add. I started off with a bag full of dirty clothes looking to get them washed. I stopped off at a bar for a 'quick pint' and to ask the locals if they knew where there was a laundrette nearby and the rest, they say, is history.
  3. He's been let off the hook. Proved innocent. Just like his old chairman. Not guilty. Yet everyone seems to have (conveniently?) forgotten about the dog with £200k in it's bank account. That's normal is it?
  4. Nope. Certainly never affected me that way. Reading the bottle just now and it does say 'one capsule daily, do not exceed stated dose' which I'm quite surprised to read actually. I usually have 3 with breakfast, 3 for lunch and 3 for supper. Unless I'm having fish whereby I'll skip it for the real thing.
  5. What now?
  6. I down handfuls of Omega 3 capsules every day along with a fair amount of nuts, fish and avocados every week to help keep me topped up. Can't get enough of it. I'd be interested in hearing more about strawberry flavoured oil though. Never heard of it.
  7. I knew some lame cunt would say something along those lines so I took a quick snap. Sadly the pic doesn't do it justice. Should have got Kowalski to take it. Good chips though? Case closed. Hamburg fucking rocks my world. I quite like Copenhagen. Spring or summer is the time to visit though. Get yourself down Ny Brygge on a Friday afternoon, either early on to get yourself a good seat around midday, or wander down a bit later after lunchtime with a carry out. It'll be packed if the sun is out. Tivoli's alright, Christiania's definitely worth a visit if you 'legally' want to smoke week, if not just a wander around meeting the 'locals' there is interesting. The Little Mermaid is probably a must-do but a bit disappointing due to location and the parks are all very nice in the summer for a mooch. You can also take a short train ride over to Malmø in Sweden if you've got the time. Couple nice squares there in the old town to hang around in.
  8. Some folk get far too wound up about what managers say. Most of them seem to be posting in this thread. I seem to remember a time not too long ago when we had a good manager that had us jetting off to Spain, Germany, Greece and the Ukraine. Folk seemed to be far too hung up about what he was saying in interviews. Can't say I paid too much attention to what was said back then and I certainly can't remember much of it now. Managers are asked stupid leading questions at times. Questions that the interviewer knows they can't answer honestly. In a world where fans are so fickle that they call for sackings 3 games into a season and managers are bound by governing bodies not to express their opinions on referees; are you really surprsed they end up talking shite? I'm in it for the 90 minutes. Anything else is just filler until the next game is on.
  9. Just because he's been told he's free to go out on emergency loan doesn't mean anyone wants the limp-wristed, girly-running, twinkle-toes.
  10. Fuck him. Need to send a clear message to these young guns that if they fail in their 'dream moves' to the likes of Derby then they're likely to rot there, and we won't be there to pick up the pieces. Sadly I can't see Maguire having enough brains to realise he has a second chance and he'll probably return thinking he's the star of the show. Billy Bigbaws himself.
  11. Likewise, I saw 'Man on a Ledge' a couple days back and laughed my cock off at the last 20 minutes or so. Wasn't expecting much to be honest and it certainly wasn't my choice, but it was made bearable by the Latino bit of fluff rockin about in lace and lycra half the time. http://m.imdb.com/name/nm1270009/
  12. I'm currently on 'vacation', or at least that's what they call it here in the United States of Yankee Doodle. To be precise, I'm on an American Airlines flight somewhere over Nevada. Swore I'd never fly AA again but here I am. But the view out the window is something else and the free WIFI is helping pass the time. Sadly the inflight entertainment hasnt improved since I last flew with them as it only consists of Disney's 'Pus In Boots' despite there only being two kids on the whole feckin plane. Anyway, I've just spent the last 10 days tearing the arse out of the slopes around Lake Tahoe and now I'm heading to Chicago. Heavenly was the pick of the bunch but the double blacks at Northstar were superb Also spent a little time in Reno. That was like being in an episode of Southpark. Never seen so many redneck, trailerpark goons in all my puff!
  13. Norwegian fella by the name Jarle Bernhoft. If you liked that Aloe Blacc geezer banging on about Dollars then you'll like this dude. Get on it.
  14. Not surprised. That would open up a whole new kettle of fish.
  15. There'll be security in there ensuring you don't sit down whilst the game is in play. Unless the OF are in town then they can please themselves.
  16. I'll be in South Lake Tahoe come Thursday afternoon. They haven't had any snow since November. But now it's dinging down. Yaas min!
  17. Religion is like politics as far as I'm concerned. They're both run by boring bastards telling you what you can and cannot do. Neither of which I have enough time or energy to be arsed with in my day to day life. The Ten Commandments aren't a bad set of guidelines though. Well I say Ten but I mean Five, once you cut out the religious bullshit. 1. Look after your Mum and Dad. 2. Don't kill anyone. 3. Don't steal. 4. Don't tell fibs. 5. Don't get jealous. As some comedian once said, I doubt your dietary requirements will come into question when you're standing at the pearly gates. Same goes for saying sweary words, sticking your pee-pee where you're not supposed to or getting down on your hands and knees twice a day to babble nonsense into a rug.
  18. Such is my disinterest with all thing Hunnery, I've no idea who he is. Should I?
  19. You didn't enjoy that clip. You will however enjoy a clip I recommend.
  20. Yeah, but have you worked with every single person in the whole of the yank military or are you just cast aspersions?
  21. Nobody seems too upset that this guy is dead. It's all about the wee-wee incident. In the grand scale of things I'd be more upset that I'd been shot dead on my doorstep, by foreign troops masquerading under a peace banner, than anything they did to my corpse afterwards.
  22. There's no guarantee that Premiership clubs will come knocking a few years down the line so the lad has to take his big break when he can and likewise AFC need to take the money when it's offered. That's where we are now and although it pains to see a young lad with potential leaving our ranks before he's had time to mature it's also good to see the youth system that was set up not too long ago bearing some fruit. There's nothing to suggest, actually there is everything to suggest that he wouldn't progress that far after he's hit the first team. Be that AFC's fault or the poor state of the SPL. That just seems to be the track records of youngsters in our team having first shown great potential.
  23. And a good job Brown didn't go fighting Pawlett's corner.
  24. Surely the cops are getting as bored as everyone of us at this shite?
