  1. Milne is convinced that a club should be self-sustaining and I'm sure he has been quoted as saying that Eddie Thompson got nowhere with Dundee United by throwing money at the team. The problem is that neither of those routes are right in my eyes. Thompson did largely get nowhere throwing money into the pot but their fan base is shite compared to ours and I got sick of reading about the amount of players we wanted that ended up at United. Given those type of resources and our fanbase I'm convinced we'd have made it work. I've always said it and I'll say it again. To be successful in Scottish football you only have to stop worrying about the OF and beat the other 9 teams. That won't take millions, that won't bankrupt your club, that won't be that much of an impossible mission. That is, if your multi-millionaire chairman were to give a bit of pocket change here and there when required. Owning a football club is very much like owning a car. You're never going to get your money back on the amount you've spent on it. You're going to have to pump money into it whether it's running well or not. It's all about the journey when you're sitting in the drivers seat and if you're going to worry about the pennies then you're better off selling it off to someone else and walking. Years, no make that decades, of penny pinching have brought the club to so many new lows that fans (those that still remain that is) are no longer surprised by them. Yet we're no better off financially for this cost cutting. I used to genuinely fear relegation but now I think it's now just the next logical step. Sadly I doubt there's enough interest left in the Red Army to go hound the board at the doors of Pittodrie should this happen. I'm sure Milne will blame the current state of affairs on the financial crisis but it's hardly affected Aberdeen city and I'm sure the cunt is still shifting houses like hot cakes. The end of his tunnel is now the new stadium, yet we've no idea where the money will come from to fund this nor do any of us believe there will be a team there worth fielding. It's all smoke and mirrors. If Milne sees selling Pittodrie to clear the debt as some sort of achievement then he's a bigger muppet than I ever thought. Especially when the new stadium is double or triple what our debt currently stands at.
  2. Yes she is. I went to school with her. Nice lassie, switched on. She was working at a local museum or visitors attraction for someone like Visit Scotland or the like, when Trumph and his crew rocked up whilst they were in town. She obviously struck a chord showing them around and regailing tales of the past and a week later she got a call asking if she wanted to fly to New York for an interview for the gig. Seems to have copped a fair bit of flak for being "Trumph's bitch" and "a right media whore" when the two couldn't really be further from the truth. Pretty sure it's just the old 'local lass does well - we can't have that' attitude rolling around.
  3. Didnt realise they were still on the go/made a comeback. Worth having a rake around?
  4. Kow - ADF? As in Asian Dub Foundation?
  5. Regardless of what is written on any webpage or newspaper the fact of the matter is the Dons are fucking shite from the top of the Board to the bottom of the table. No manner of talking them up or papering over of the cracks will change that. Folk are clever enough to make up their own minds and its there in glorious technicolour for us all to see each weekend whether that is at the game, on the box or in the news columns. I don't see why as a fan I need to talk something up that's just plain fucking embarrassing. I've done my duty as far as I'm concerned and I've followed them to the ends of the earth and the ends of my wit. But enough is enough and I'm not the one that should be entertaining the notion that 'alls well' when its painfully obvious that it just aint. THEY'RE the ones that should should be entertaining. They're not. At least Chris Crighton is bothering his arse to report back about the club. I can't even be fucked reading about them these days.
  6. So it was in fact a great game to watch?
  7. 20 or so first team starts and he's "not going to make it", "not as good as Fyvie" and "not as good as one of the best players that we've ever had at the club". That's it lads. Keep bashing him. Hound that promising youngster out of Pittodrie! Hound him! Hound that fucker! BOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  8. You've got to ask the question what good it'll do in the long run? I'm fucked if I know. I've shouted, bawled, screamed abuse and had a right go at folk inside the confindes of a football stadium. Some of it 'witty banter' and some of it outright rage and in bad taste. Game ends, walk out the doors and past the same set of fans and 99.9% of the time it's all forgotten about and they're merely a group of likeminded fans also making their way home or to the pub to discuss the game. There's far too much dumbing down of things these days and football is a great way to show emotion, be that on or off the park. If we lose that then we'll all have to channel that anger, aggression, frustration, happiness and freedom of expression elsewhere. Those fires still burning in London?
  9. Personally I'd lock the fucker in a stairwell and you know the rest. Hud 'at.
  10. The Kills - Blood Pressures (album)
  11. Going to be quite interesting now they have that walkway on top of it. http://www.edgewalkcntower.ca/
  12. Reminds me of the time my wee nephew asked if I wanted to watch a film with him. "Aye, go on then, what do you wanna watch?" "Marley and Me! The dog dies in the end!" Errrr.....ok.
  13. I'm hoping they're trying to free up a little more wages to help pay for someone else or help tempt Sone back since he's still not picked up a club. Although I'm not holding my breath. All in all we're desperate for more players but sending lads off for loan spells isn't that bad an idea is it? We save a bit of cash and they actually get to play regular football instead of them sitting on the sidelines eating up wages, if they've little chance of a game.
  14. If you're into Norwegian films(!?) then check out 'Død Snø' which is worth a giggle if you like your zombie flicks and 'Max Manus' if WW2 is your thing.
  15. The problem is we all know that there is no equal sharing between the clubs but the knobs who rule us, who in turn are ruled by the big two will bend over and let them take even more money out of the league so they can compete in Europe.
  16. Heard a soundbite from Sally this morning saying "The board, the management team, coaches, players, supporters and fans all have to stick together. If we all stick together we'll get through this". Well no you won't Ally, you're out! Mooooooooohahahahaha.
  17. Wonder what makes of Miller these days?
  18. Last 30 minutes was like an exhibition match. Spurs' midfield was non-existant.
  19. Any workshy fopp could stay on til 6th year.
  20. Mawene looks a bombscare.
  21. More chance of keeping Gonzalez if we don't drop him the minute Clangers walks straight in the door.
  22. I could kind of understand all the cut-backs on the pitch if it were some sort of money saving idea to fund the new stadium. But they've been chopping the wage bill for years and all in the name of survival. All in all it appears to me that their plan is simply to survive until the stadium is built, the debt they had no intention of paying off previously is cleared and money starts to roll in slowly until they can build something that resembles a team. So what we talking here? Two years for the stadium to be built (scoff) and another 3 or 5 before they start climbing the table? I've put up with far too much shite already. I'm not sticking around for another decade of treading water at my expense. I can hand on heart tell you that I've no idea who we are playing this weekend. Not a scooby. Actually, scrub that sad smilie, I don't even feel like it's my fault for feeling like that. I'm at the stage now that I don't even feel angry about it. Poke it.
  23. Well it's Monday, the Dons failed to score again, we've still not won a game yet and having had a quick squint at the three Aberdeen forums I see that there's not one thread filled with anger and resentment. Nobody calling for heads to roll. No CB out. No Willie-canna-run-a-chipper posts. No pressure on Milne. No protests or angry mobs at the front door. No slagging of the players. Is this it then? Is it officially nobody gives a fuck time?
