total and utter embarrassment!

Are protestors supposed to smile? Nevermind. Just out of interest, which nightclub were you handing out those fliers for? -
total and utter embarrassment!

I see you used Image Shack for that jpg. Maybe Tiny URL might have been more fitting? -
Superstar Trademan refers to himself in the third person three times per day. Ergo, I'm not talking bollocks. You really have been hanging around with the KKK too long. Read it again needle dick. Even if we get knocked out of the qualifier round, we'll have had practically the same number of European games as 3rd place. Any students/statos out there want to compile a quick list of who 3rd and 4th would play if the leagues finished as things stand after last weekend?

A 4th place finish could be more lucrative to the club than 3rd place finish. Here's why: We finish 3rd place and are rewarded with 3rd place lump sum and a qualifier game to get into the group stages of Europe. Generally speaking Scottish clubs haven't faired too well in this as you're likely to be facing some decent teams. 3rd place money + 1 home game + 1 away game (tv/attendance cash) Or we finish 4th place and are rewarded with a 4th place lump sum (£100,000 less than 3rd?) and two qualifier games to get into the group stages of Europe. Granted you need to win the first qualifier to get the second but then it's a backdoor entry for many cup competitions so you'd probably have more of a chance against 'lesser' opposition. 4th place money + 2 home games + 2 away games (tv/attendances cash) Loose the first qualifier game and you're only really loosing out on £100,000 for the 3rd place finish in the SPL. Win it and your fans are more likely to get twice the European games than Scottish teams normally get (Huns included) and the club will also financially benifit twice as much as 3rd place. Or am I talking bollocks?

Joe Harper: "Saturday is wrong time for protests"
Superstar Tradesman replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
In all honesty I don't think the minutes silence has any connection to the protests in any way and to say it has is missing the issue from both sides of the arguement. Unless of course something happened during that minute and we would all put our lives on it that nothing will happen then. A minute's silence during a game of football is just that. It's a time to reflect and pay your respects. Either side of that anything can happen and I'm not just talking football. The protesters could easily have had banners during the game but the Ultras have beaten them to it with their helicopter tragedy display. But I disagree with what Harper is saying regarding protesting before or after the game as it simply won't have any connection to that one minute of silence. -

Sadly the rest of the Red Army have the wings of a sparrow and we're soaring above the KKK flock. That's why what we're telling them goes right o'er their heids. -
So many people seem to be agreeing with this well penned and well thought out statement. This is the sort of post that should be making its way to the press or sent to Pittodrie. Instead we get: Uz are gettin it! JMG! WMG! Protest at 2pm, nah make it 4.45pm, we'll show yooz! Bring a mate whoos up for it. And a tooter-ooh to make sum noize. JMG! WMG! Then they wonder why nobody wants to join them.

European football and a mad scramble/panic for tickets I'd imagine. -

London_Scottish obviously too busy organising the next one he's not going to turn up to. -
That's exactly what I was thinking - Stagnation. Yet I keep hearing 'moving backwards'. Just wondering if anyone can actually back this up with facts that I've obviously missed?

Or......... perhaps it's seen as a hurdle in the season. The first real test, then past that it's time to beat the top 6 teams and aim for Europe. But I'm not really sure we have the cash to do anything other than secure 6th place. We're certainly not stick on for Europe each season. I would say under JC the season has been a bit longer (not just because of the shite fitba) because we're still in the mix come the end of the season. League-wise anyway. Usually it was over come the split.
-
True, as was your previous post regarding damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. But I think the Top 6 finish yardstick is wheeled out for two reasons. One - The club budget for 6th place or above don't they? So financially that'll be what JC is judged on by the board. Two - It's a self achievement that he can keep saying he's had us in the Top 6 since taking over. Neither reason really gets any of us excited (although it would definitely be another story if he never made it higher than 6th!) but it's a benchmark none-the-less.

It's very annoying to read that the players who have us chasing Europe don't seem to have any urgency, bite, confidence or bollocks. They must be doing something right but I'm fucked if I know what that is.
-
The thing is, nobody seems to be impressed that our poor season sees us sitting in 4th place. Is that purely down to the football on display being so poor or have we got used to the fact we're at a stage where we can press for Europe each season and now expect 3rd place? JC must be pulling his hair out as much as us. Albeit for entirely different reasons no doubt!

I'd thought of the Northern Light Stadium before but then know only too well that away fans will weave magic with the pun-work and quickly rename it as the Northern Shite Stadium. The Granite City Stadium makes us sound hard but then we've got the City / Shitty problem again. The Dougie Bell End however, definitely should be erected.
