Having been continually let down by our signings over the past 10 years, I find it really difficult to get excited about any such transfers. I'd be happy just to turn up on the first game of the season, look at the team sheet and mutter......"oh".
Anderson was never the 'heart & soul' of our team back then and was still finding his feet as captain. Eventually he became the player who led by example but it was Tosh who was very vocal and was always seen to be giving orders or barking at others for slack play.
Something we've been missing for years is a combination of the two.
Ebbe also used him as a lone striker when Stavrum was out injured. All this whilst he was about 17 and the manager had been in the paper the week before saying he was the new Micheal Owen.
Not much pressure to score then.
I take his goal tally with a pinch of salt due largely to the fact he's worked under some shite managers. Nobody was banging them in under Pele and didn't we go something crazy like - 1000 minutes without scoring under Ebbe's term?
If you look over his time under JC it's not been too bad and he's been top scorer at the club once (possibly twice?) over the course of a season..... so what does that make the rest of squad out to be?
Personally I'm glad he's nowhere near the squad as he needs to concentrate on his bread and butter. I'd still say he's getting used to his role and if he keeps that up for the next 2 seasons then he should be getting a mention.
Sounds like there was an awful lot of male 'bonding' last night or 'touching' as I like to call it.
Can you lot not just jump up, cheer and celebrate like the rest of us?
Still say that Steve Tosh did a job for us and gave a bit of bite to the midfield. Shame his pace let him down but he scored a few crackers and also nailed a ball into the United dugout when the match turned a bit nasty.
Well if every young loon is are going to be held accountable for every stupid thing they've ever texted a lassie to impress them, it's going to be a long queue.
Probably with me at the front.
