  1. This is what's fucking me off big style. I just can't see any light at the end of the tunnel at the moment. The fans are all ambitious and want the club to progress but seem to be split into two groups. Depending on which group you're in you'll either be seen as a Realist (or JIG ) or Over Ambitious (or JMG ). Nobody I believe thinks we could be achieving what the club did in the 80s but I'm sure we all think we could again, one day. The problem is that the club isn't even willing to step up to the lowest level of the least ambitious fan and that for me just spells another 10 years of treading water. For me it just looks like the plan is to buy shite, polish it, sell it for whatever we can get then repeat the process. If we get cup runs or into Europe then that'll just increase the players stock for us to sell on again. If that's the case then I've got better things to do with my time.
  2. The same reason as they bother with teachers at school. There's definitely something to this and it's about time certain players were benched when not performing. Too many are walking straight into the squad and some even hobbling.
  3. Obviously it hasn't been tested as thoroughly this season.
  4. Hewitt was just a lad (a tiny wee lad) and his thighs still look about the same size as Maguire/Zander/Aloko/Miller's waist.
  5. Anyone actually give a fuck or are we all going into the game with the same gusto as the players have been showing recently?
  6. Number two by name......
  7. That'll be another 1000 season books being torn up I hear.
  8. More poo action?
  9. Only if you make a donation.
  10. You're not in the market for a new gamma-ray stun gun are you?
  11. Good day at the office - Copenhagen game. Bad day at the office - Take your pick.
  12. Yeah it was. Has anyone still got a Commodore 64 and want to register?
  13. Perhaps their win bonuses were pretty healthy. Again, money talks.
  14. I don't have the weapons to set this up. Does anyone know the lad who did the whip round for Norman?
  15. Who cares Madbad? He's got a perma-tan, Glaswegian and is overweight, that in itself is a good enough excuse.
  16. A wee whip round by the more sensible Dons fans would be a good idea. Of course I'd be willing to chuck some cash in if it's not someone on KKK pocketing the cash again.
  17. I thought he already died of a heart attack?!
  18. Getting busy in here, better buy another kettle for the cafe.
  19. Toughen up you bunch of fairies! It's not you that'll be running around in shorts and t-shirts chasing shadows all evening. Unless you're joining me at the mud-wrestling bar.
  20. This is another one that grinds my gears! So what if he's not worth £500m? So what if it's his assets that's worth £X00m and he doesn't have that much in the bank? We're not hundreds of millions in debt, we're somewhere around the £12m mark, half of which he paid himself last year, so I heard. I also heard we're paying £0.5m/year interest on our loan. If he loaned us that interest free, which I think is the least he could do, we'd have £0.5m/year to spend on the football side. Even half of that would be huge and mean we'd not be losing players or struggling to sign any real quality. He's throwing houses up left right and centre, he could be attracting better players to the club by giving them fancy houses in his new developments, rent free. When they leave the club they leave the keys and he can probably sell it on for more than he'd have sold it when it was new. There's plenty ways he could be helping the club out, he's got the resources, but I just don't believe it's in his interest to.
  21. Anyone heard from Fatjim recently?
  22. I don't think anyone truely believes that Milne is just after the land. As you've said, there's plenty other sites around Aberdeen that he won't have to wait in excess of 10 years to lay is grubby mitts on. One thing I do believe though is that us being in debt is good for him. By some he's seen as untouchable as he's securing the debt but then he's also scaring off any other potential buyers. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not some sort of way to make his own company more money by having the club stuck in millions of debt.
  23. Ask yourself why this is. Close, but no cigar.
  24. When's the next transfer window? I want Stuart Milne to cop it under a pile of his own rubble.
  25. Great post CtS, you should work in the marketing department at Pittodrie as AFC if they want to start up a marketing department aimed at the fans with you at the helm. I'm just fucked off with shite going on off the park more than anything. It seems like they'll do anything to keep us sitting at stalemate. We had a great chance to build on last season and it just looks like we've taken a giant leap backwards. The success we've had under JC hasn't been a flash in the pan. We've gradually got better on paper every season and if the board was even going to show any ambition, January was the time. I fully understand why we've been cost-cutting for years, why the toaster was binned, why we've been selling of our prize assets to anyone that will take them. But the football side is constantly suffering and fans are heading for the exits. Meanwhile we're being told that this is all being done to manage the debt but the last I checked, it's gone up year-on-year.
