I can only assume McInnes gave that reply about Wilson staying to give him some encouragement and not let his head drop any further. He is just not a McInnes type player, Stewart is the same, pointless either of them being here. I'm always a bit wary when hearing us linked with players, our transfer record has been pretty poor the past couple of seasons and we really cannot afford any more poor signings this summer.

Said it for two seasons now, but the manager has been here too long, we are stale and bar a couple of excepetions have a pretty poor squad of players. I am happy we have young players coming through, but I believe this has a lot to do with our signings being very poor so he has no option but to give our youth a chance, but I do wish he would drop Ferguson for the loons sake. Regardless if we win the cup or not a parting of the ways with DM in the summer would be best for us and him, who we get in I have no idea, but a change needs to be made to try and keep us up at top end of the league and trying to win trophies.

Not long back, a very cold afternoon and really not too much to shout about football wise. I thought we were well on top in the first half and surprised to see Livi equalise as they hadn't offered much up until they did score, although they did have an earlier chance which gave us a scare. I was too far away to see if they deserved the free kick, but it appears apparently not. I thought once we went in front we would kick on and score a few, which sadly didn't happen. Second half they dug in and made it very difficult for us to find openings resulting in us playing the ball backwards a lot of the time which frustrated a lot of the fans, but they did their job well. I though we improved a bit when Stewart came on and Wilson too, but despite huffing and puffing I don't think we would have scored if we were still playing. We were flat today possibly after the efforts against both sets of the bigot brothers in the previous two games, butgames like today are when a manager should be earning his corn in sending out a side capable of beating teams like Livi and not falling back on the excuse of my point earlier about the previous two games. Ferguson needs a rest and I don't mean the final 10 minutes of a game like he got today and today was the type of match where he could easily have been rested, I would quite happily have seen Gleeson in alongside Shinnie or even Campbell retain his place at the expense of Ferguson. I thought McLennan played well, but sometimes his first touch can let him down and also has a tendancy to try and do too much when an earlier pass would have been a better option, but I suppose more to do with experience than anything else, he is great to watch though when he runs at players and I always feel something will happen when he is on the pitch. A shite day for fitba, but our home form is pretty concerning, which is surprising really as we have been pretty consistent at home during DMs tenure.

I saw that interview just after it started and thought they were talking to people in Yorkshire. I was very surprised to discover these people actually live in Spain.

An excellent performance from the boys and an even better result. Couldn't fault any of our players last night they all played well and more importantly put in a shift. May had a difficult job, but carried it out well, Wilson just wouldn't know how to put in a performance like that. Three teenagers in our starting line up last night and it is the only way to go for us. Fuck Sevco and Stevie G. I noticed a load of empty seats towards the end of the game, not bad for fans that don't do walking away.

I'd start off with the team that started the second half at Parkhead on Saturday. For me we looked more solid with Campbell in the team than Wilson, but Wilson is paid to score goals not stop them at the other end and we will need an outlet. We need to be strong down the flanks, we were fortunate that in the first game they tried to hit us down the left hand side with Candias with Kent quiet all game, or fairly quiet, but for me when he has the ball and runs at us it causes us problems, hopefully Ball can put in another excellent shift at RB tonight. I do feel we blew our chance at Pittodrie, but we can usually pull off a result when up against it, so hopingfor a result tonight. We have had a few hard games recently so hopefully the players who play tonight have enough in the tank to see us into the semi. 1-0 A Dom Ball screamer.

I don't think Celtic are a great team, but still way out in front of any other squad up here and are quite decent in attack, but still reckon they are quite weak at the back. I would drop Stewart for May, I think Sam gets more out of playing with May than any other of our strikers, May does a lot of donkey work when up front alongside him. My preferred option up front would be Stewart and Wilson, but safe to say that is not going to happen. Another dilemma is if GMS is not available then we play with McGinn, who I think is usually a waste of a shirt when playing against them, but I don't fancy seeing Stewart out on the wing again after Sunday, but we have very little options out wide. I think it will be the same team which started on Sunday, bar McGinn in for GMS, but we need to take our chances when they come and not be so wasteful. 0-1 Considine - Be nice to get that 9 away wins in a row against them.

Keith Flint from The Prodigy, dead at 49. That is sad news. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-47442312

He played up front as a striker for Dundee and played through the middle at Killie.
-
No way has he been shit in all his games for us, but he is no fucking winger and not a defender. It was a strange signing for us, he certainly is a talented player, but I doubt it will happen for him with us no matter how much he wants it. He should have stayed with Killie

DM set us up not to lose and we didn't and we were far the better team in the first half, didn't think we played as well in the second half, but you knew they would come at us and we were never going to keep our shape for the whole 90 minutes. A certain penalty from which Sam scored from and MacGregor showed once again he is a scrote of the highest order and is well suited playing for them. He was going ape when McKenna hit a header over the bar and we got a corner for it, doesn't happen often and nice when it winds them up too. The equaliser was poor, Stewart seemed to want to control the ball away instead of hitting it out for a throw and conceded the corner, from which they got their goal and it was a soft one to concede. I have to agree with another poster that Ball was motm, thought he had a very good game today. I thought Lowe and McKenna were excellent also, but Ferguson is cleary needing a spell on the bench, wouldn't have an issue giving Gleeson or Campbell some game time as the team is carrying Ferguson at the moment
-
I think KFP may have been referring to Gleeson with the comment not Stewart. Stewart went into January as one of the SPL best players who, iirc, scored 8 and had 14 assists to his name, for some reason he comes up here is played on the wing and struggling to make any sort of impact, due mainly to our manager not knowing how to get the best out of him.

I was sitting at the game on Wednesday night contemplating phoning up and getting my money back on my tickets for the cup game, but for some strange reason I fancy us to get a result, I suppose we are on the ropes at the moment and we have to get a win at home sometime so why not Sunday. Play anything near as bad as we did on Wednesday, especially in defence, and they will bury us, but regardless of form these games usually take care of themselves and the players if nothing else usually show effort which you need a lot of, as well as that little bit of luck. 2-1 us, Shinnie and May
-
I agree that he was never the quickest, but he certainly used to have a burst of pace which could buy him that little bit of time on the ball which certainly seems to have gone. He is capable of so much on the pitch, but delivering so little, but then everything about the team at the moment is a little stale.

I actually thought when we initially went to a back three after Lowe went off we looked better and actually managed to get up the park and cause them some problems, but then it was downhill all the way, but Hamilton were certainly the better team in the opening stages and bar a few fleeting spells from us, were the better team overall, as Rico says they worked hard all over the pitch, especially the two guys up front who I thought were very good for them, but they put in a shift all over the park and showed some good stuff at times, a big change from the teams Canning used to put out to play who rarely ventured into the opposition half. We do need a change, have said it for a while now, but I don't think it is going to happen as the relationship between Manager and Chairman is just too cosy and not really good for the club. Play as bad against the Hun on Sunday and they will destroy us. Edit: Just watched their first goal, it looked good from my seat, but it was some finish. He certainly didn't mean it, I work with a pal of his and he says he just tried to keep the ball in play and nothing else, it certainly wasn't meant.

Agreed, but some Left Back though

We need to win this won and end this poor run of home form. If he drops GMS then McGinn will come in who can be as equally as shit, but it may give GMS the boot up the arse he needs. I think he will go with the same line up from Saturday and hopefully we will see Stewart get off the mark in a league game. 3-0 Cosgrove, Stewart and Ferguson.

The first episode of the new Alan Partridge series was watched last night, it's like he has never been away. Brilliant.

Reports going around that Mark Hollis, front man and chief songwriter with the band Talk Talk has died aged 64, gutted at this news as a big fan.

Finally got around to viewing the highlights and have to say Shinnie took his two goals very well. Dom Ball looked OK at RB, I initially feared the worst when I saw him down on the teamsheet, but fair play to him and he managed to set up the first goal, although Shinnie did the hard part. McLennan looked lively and GMS looked uninterested. A very good three points and hope we carry the performance from it into the Hamilton game on Wednesday night.

Can't see anything other than a tough game ahead of us tomorrow, both teams not in the best of form and not wanting to lose so I doubt much entertainment will be had by wither set of fans. We just need a win and as he has shown before over the years DM can send teams out to grind out wins when up against it. I predict a 1-0 victory to us, Big Sam from the penalty spot. COYR

Good news, both the loon and his Dad seem to be very happy with how he is treated and being developed and hopefully he can kick on and become a big player for us and make us a few quid in the future.
-
Just seen the sending off of the Killie Keeper and makes me wonder if worth getting my tickets for the upcoming Scottish cup tie as seems like we are not on a level playing field.
-
Aye, indeed. I did like McLean as a player, but I don't think we got the best out of him until his last few months.

I read somewhere yesterday that the SDP polled 25% of the vote at the 83 GE, but only got something like 23 seats. No new party will ever survive unless the FPTP system in done away with and neither Labour or Tory would ever want a breakaway from the golden goose. Do these breakaway MPs have to fight by-elections if they have gave up their party whip?
