That's a shame. I couldn't make the game on Saturday, but saw the clip when he went down injured, you could see the poor loon was in pain, never good to see. Fingers crossed he can come back and kick on with his career, sadly though it won't be with us.
-
I cannot agree with you with McLean, I honestly thought he went backwards whilst with us, his last few months with us were his best, before that he was worse than a man short a lot of the times. I think it was the constant backing from Donsdaft that kept him in the team.
-
Same thing happened with MacGuire and Pawlett also when they went out on loan and came back better players, so fingers crossed it happens with Wright, up to him I suppose.

For me having a manager at the helm for 6 years means we should be in a position to promote youth from within, if they are not good enough then fine, but I don't think we have ever seen enough of our kids over the years to see if they can make it or not. The even bigger puzzle for me is how he will give chances to kids from other teams over ones we have taken through ourselves. We as a club need to be producing our own players to benefit us both on the pitch and by generating additional revenue through bringing in transfer fees, or even being good enough to win titles and cups on a regular basis. Writing them off after a few appearances doesn't sit well with me.

My Dad was an alcoholic, but there wasn't the support around to give him the help he would have got now at that time and he ended up dead at 66 with multiple organ failure due to chronic alcoholism. All the best to you min.

Try this link to the AFC website, hopefully it will open up at Scott Wright for you.just change the year and you can read his stats. https://www.afc.co.uk/player/scott-wright/

I heard someone on the radio speak about Corbyn and how he stuck with Labour under Blair when the party he supported didn't represent his views on anything, but he stuck with it as he knew change would come full circle and it did with him becoming leader. The 7 who resigned from the party today are closer to the Tories than they ever were true Labour, especially they boy Chukka, so leaving is possibly best all round, but the timing of it is strange. I don't believe the Labour party are a party of anti semitists and this is a story being blown out of proportion by our right leaning press. It's not a new political party we need though, but a break from traditional party politics.

12 league starts, 4 this season and 6 last season and one start each the previous 2 seasons. He has also had 3 league cup and 1 Scottish cup starts and has also made a further 36 appearances from the bench in all competitions. How anyone can say he is going to be good enough with that type of record is beyond me, not saying he would be good enough, but I see something in him, not saying he is the next Messi or anything, but he is a very clever player who would benefit greatly from a good run of games in a position which suits him, for me I would give him a free role playing off the striker.
-
The not big enough complaint is one of the reasons we will never progress much as a footballing nation. Wright has 16 starts to his name at Aberdeen in 4 seasons, not enough time to tell whether he is good enough or not, but I suspect like most of our young lads they are possibly best off away from the clutches of DM and his Calderwood style youth policy.

Sadly Al and despite agreeing with your post, that 'shower of shite' will always be more attractive to play for than us for most players and I do think Ferguson will end up with them at some point, but would love to be proved wrong.

I couldn't make the game after removing a radiator from the wall and then having an issue with a leak which meant I had to stay in all afternoon waiting for a plumber. Anyway the two loons were at the game and said it was poor stuff, didn't sound great from what I heard on the radio. A real shame for Hoban with his injury, God said on the radio he was in bits on the pitch as he knew it was a bad one, seems a decent sort of loon and looked a good footballer, so fingers crossed he can make a comeback at some point. I have no idea why DM signed Stewart, he didn't know how to play him last season and he doesn't know how to get the best out of him now, we saw a real player at Kilmarnock and he is a shadow of that player for us. I have said on here before that DM doesn't improve players and I still stand by that. Derek Ferguson did say on the radio that Lewis is about to pen a new deal at Pittodrie, so a bit of positive news on the player front.
-
I'd play Stewart alongside Cosgrove and give him licence to roam, he is no good on the wing IMO. I would ditch GMS and May from the starting 11 and bring in McGinn and McLennan, if Logan is injured, based on the fact he come off on Sunday due to an issue with what looked like his foot, then Devlin in for him and put Hoban at RB. I doubt he will ditch GMS though. I'll go 3-1 us Cosgorve x2 & Stewart.

Nearly finished the Peter Crouch book 'How to be a Footballer' A very funny book buy a guy, despite his wealth, is not afraid to take the piss out of himself or the profession which he made his money in. Comes across as a decent bloke, which is not something we can usually say about modern day footballers. A very good read.

Only discovered Niven around 6 months ago and have read about 4 of his books and all superb stuff. Haven't read The Second Coming, but is on my list of his books.

We were shit first half, no positives really to take from it, but what a difference McGinn makes when he is up for it, one goal and two assists is a fair return for 45 minutes. I still think his legs have gone, but he still has a great brain and still offers a hell of a lot more end product than GMS, who I have no idea why he gets a start every game. Another one I am having an issue with at the moment is Ferguson, just not seeing much from him at all, I reckon he will be a great player, but possibly had too much game time this season and to think if he came through our ranks he possibly wouldn't be anywhere near the first team, McInnes can be a very strange manager at times. I thought the penalty decision was poor after viewing it on TV, noway should it have been a pen, but they usually even themselves out, unless its the huns. Dobbies goal was a thing of beauty and when he scored it I had just said to my son before it he had been starved of chances all afternoon to show what he could do. I was in the Mainer for this one and have to say it is not a great place to view the game from, disapointed with the crowd though, looked a poor one.

I'm going posh for this one I'm sitting in the main stand. I'm expecting a tough game, but we should have enough quality to get us over the line and it's not like they have any form against us. Not expecting a repeat of the Hampden semi. 3-1 Cosgrove, May and Shinnie
-
Well I thought we were shit last night. Logan was as bad as I have ever seen anyone play in a red jersey, woeful. GMS showed why he was found out at Celtic and I won't be shedding any tears if he fucks off to America. Shinnie has the heart of a lion and we will be a poorer team if he leaves. He never lets his head drop and is an excellent captain. Stewart was good for the most part, his corners were poor though Morelos is a fucking idiot, McGregor is getting away with too many snide fouls, a cunt of a human being, but sums up the hun squad. I thought the referee was poor overall, but we were masters of our own downfall. DM got our set up wrong last night IMO, but I think a 4-2 defeat was very harsh on us.
-
This would be a big win for us and shove two fingers up at the scumbags who would go into meltdown if we overtook them in the league at this stage. I think we will revert to a more defensive formation and expect to see Ball or Gleeson in the line up on Wednesday night. I could just about take a defeat as long as we put in some effort. After those games back in December 17 when Deek was on the verge of going I have never quite trusted him in these matches, but appreciate we have beaten them a couple of times since. 3-2 us - James Wilson to score all three after coming on late in the second half with us being 2-0 down. I really hope this game is a sell out, a few fairweather fans I work with are trying to get tickets, which I'm not sure is a good or a bad thing, but be good to get a full house for this one, despite being a midweek game. COYR
-
Michael Stewart said as much on the radio, always good to have decent options when you lose key players in key positions.
-
I heard Deek in the post match interview and he said Cosgrove was having an issue with his back before the game. I would rather have Joe back for Wednesday, but Cerny proved to be decent back up today.
-
It doesn't seem right seeing him wear that rag of a top.

I didn't get a great view of the Shinnie tackle which led to the booking, but I think it was a bit of retribution for the players dirty kick on Ferguson not long beforehand. I agree with you about him as a midfielder though. -

A terrible game of football, not helped much by the conditions, but I think Killie will be more than happy to go down the road with a point. I thought GMS was a waste of a jersey today and don't think he will be that big a miss if he goes. Don't get me wrong when he has a good game he is terirific to watch, but the bad games far outweigh the good for me and it doesn't help he is regarded as a first pick when he is always going to be the type of player who needs benched for spells. It looked like the Killie players were instructed to get Stewart today, his first involvement saw him get brought down and happened a few other times to him and the only surprise was seeing Shinnie being the first player booked for a tackle on their number 27 who spent most of the game falling down like he had been shot when the ref had let worse challenges go unpunished. Shinnie was deservedly MOTM and his performance was badly needed today, if he goes we will miss him as captain. I thought Ferguson was poor I do like him as a player, but can't help but feel he would benefit from a spell out of the team, who we replace him with I have no idea. -

I'm hoping we stick with May and Cosgrove as the work rate of May works well alongside Cosgrove. McGinn and GMS I would be very wary of having them in the same line up, two good footballers, but the chances of them both having good games are pretty slim and some interesting stats about McGinn and GMS this season in the link though https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/46978621 SHould be a good match and what with Stewart joining us against last week it should certainly give the game an edge. I would stick with the same line up from Wednesday. 2-1 us, May & Stewart -
I'm not sure what to think of this news, just something about it doesn't sit right with me. I can't see how this sort of thing can be hidden for so long for a man who is always under investigation and I don't believe he had enough power/influence/money to keep this silent over the years. Any future trial will be very interesting though.
