Just watched the highlights and a great goal from Cosgrove for his second and he was very unlucky not to get a hat trick. I think Cosgrove and May have to be our preferred option up front as they seem to complement each other well. A big win for us and even better was the Kilmarnock result which sets things up nicely for Saturday. The loon Jones is going to have to play out of his skin when he joins them to get the great unwashed back on side after last night.
-
We need a good result and performance from the game tonight. I hope he makes some changes from Saturday and for me either McGinn or GMS would be on the bench, but hope that doesn't mean putting Stewart on the wing as we all know he is not a winger. 2-0 Stewart and May COYR

I hear you, but I still don't agree with it. I enjoyed having Christie here and thought he was a terrific player, but when you see him playing for Celtic knowing we have made him a better player, possibly just more experienced than better, it just sticks in the throat. I also realise it potentially could get you a player on a permanent basis if all things work out, but in a league where it is a struggle to keep up with Celtic and Rangers in spending power it feels like a backward step in helping their own younger players progress. I can't ever envisage any other clubs agreeing to put a stop to it either.
-
Concentrate on developing our own young players rather than take them from any of or direct competitors. It's a nonsense situation.

Jeez, I certaianly didn't expect that result. It wasn't a great first half, but we took our goal well and huffed and puffed our way to half time and they didn't cause us any real problems, but they defended in numbers and did it well and I fair expected us to come out and batter them in the second half, but our players obviously didn't read the script. We were woeful second half, Stewart had a shot blocked after good work by McGinn to open them up, then Stewart smashed a good one off the crossbar and I was thinking we were about to step up a gear, but it just didn't happen at all and they then had the audacity to go up the other end and score a goal which was something out of Roy of the Rovers. I thought McLennan should have done better when the ball came out to him, but their player ended up with the ball and sent in a cross which their striker scored with a great diving header, a real sickener. Nae the best of performances and I thought both GMS and McGinn were shite and Cosgrove didn't look like the player who was on fire during December, but I did think it strange Stewart was straight in the line up at the expense of May who was starting to find a bit of form alongside Cosgrove. Despite Stenny giving it everything they had and making it hard for us to carve open an opening, we really shouldn't have struggled as much as we did, I half expected them to sneak a winner by the end. The only positive is that we are still in the cup, but very little to take from the game overall, but really shouldn't be having to play an exptrea game in 10 days time.

I remember that Stenhousemuir game for the stick I took about the result in the days afterwards, probably like most of us, but hard to think it was 24 years ago, mental. Was it our worst ever result? Not quite as bad as the 9-0 Celtic game for me, but still a very, very sore one to take. I just looked at the time sheet from the 95 game and bar a couple of exceptions it was a good team we put out that day I don't expect too much problems at the weekend and expect a good win and hopefully see some squad players get a game, but I suspect we will be at full strength with it being the first match back after the break. In the South Stand for this one, since the prices were the same all over and looking forward to it. 5-1 Stevie May scoring all 5.

I think Balls passing is his worst attribute by far, to say he is better passer than Shinnie is sheer madness in my opinion. More often than not Balls passing causes more harm than good.
-
I got it off the EE website, but totally agree with you about how much we will miss him, as you said a proper captain.
-
It's a shambles, but it's been badly handled since the day the after the vote and doesn't look like ending anytime soon. I think the best thing to do is postpone it for the moment and go for another referendum and see what the opinion of the country is now after the past two years. I suspect it would be a clear vote to remain, but fuck knows what happens if leave won again.
-
Just read Shinnie to sign a pre contract with Wigan. It does appear he is off and cannot really blame him as the money will be well in excess what we can afford, but still be sad to see him go, if and when he does.

I saw Ryhun Jack score yesterday in the most unlikely of places, at the Aberdeen Club shop whilst waiting to be served. Watching Ryhun run to the hoards of the unwashed with his hands shaped like a heart made me feel more than a bit nauseous. I also saw the Killie game highlights and have to say I thought Stewart was immense for them. I know it was only St Mirren, but he had an excellent game.
-
Finally got aroudn to seeing the goals from yesterday, a great finish from Wilson and a great assist from him for the second, pity we haven't seen more of this in his time here. That pitch at Livi is shocking and shouldn't be allowed in any professional league. I'm not against plastic pitches but not as poor as the one at Livi.
-
That pitch of Livis shouldn't be allowed in our top league and I reckon we could struggle today. Just a win would do me, be a sickener to go into the break on the back of two defeats, so really need a win today. COYR

Dons - Victimhood - Boxing Day 2 pm

I just saw the goals, boy they were bad. They looked bad watching in the stands, but watching them back they look even worse. Ball should be nowhere near the starting 11 on Saturday and Shinnie must play at LB if no Lowe. -

That fuckers were there for the taking today, but our tactics stopped us from taking advantage. We need to sort out the middle of the park that is our weakest area by far for me. We put in a decent shift today, but came away with nothing, the last two goals we conceded were as soft as fuck. James Wilson is a waste of a jersey and needs to go back in January. I am sure he will score goals for somebody, but not for us. -
Well first things first. Hearts are a fucking horrible footballing team, also a horrible club with horrible supporters, but footballing wise they are a joke. I thought we did well today, stood up to the hammer throwers all over the park and that first goal from Cosgrove inside 2 minutes was excellent, but I do have to admit when he picked the ball up for the penalty I thought he was going to miss, but shows once again I know sweet FA, he put it away with aplomb. Cosgrove was really superb today, battled hard, won the ball more often than not and distributed it well also and was generally a menace to them all afternoon, took no shit from the scummy bastards either, but non of our players did. Although I wasn't jizzing myself at his introduction I thought Gleeson came on and saved the game for us, the reason for this was at that point we had replaced Lowe with Campbell and Hearts were really overpowering us in the middle of the park, but when Gleeson came on he offered the experienced head which was badly needed and took a load of pressure off the two young loons alongside him, he also produced a couple of really good passes, hopefully he may get some more game time and prove to be the player we thought we were going to get in the summer. I was only surprised Hearts had 10 players left on the pitch, they were very lucky not to have had a red card earlier, some of their tackling was terrible and only in Scotland would a ref give a performance that bad and not face some kind of punishment, but yet again Levein still thinks they were hard done by, fuck knows what game he was watching. Well done to the players today though, they stood up and took no shit from the dirty bastards and got the all important three points, I would like to know why Shinnies 'goal' was chalked off as their keeper certainly wasn't impeded and I had a good view of it sitting in the Merkland end. I hope we get to see Max Lowe back before he is offski.
-
Shinnie as a left back is a no brainer, as good a left back as anyone in the league in my opinion, but if he sees himself as a midfielder then I doubt he will get the move he is possibly looking for. I would take Shinnie over GMS though if had to pick between the two to re-sign. I think Shinnie has been a great signing for us, love his commitment and work ethic and I really hope that if he does go it is not to that lot of manky bastards in Govan.
-
One thing for sure, the ball won't see much of the grass, it will be route one all the way. I hope we stick to our own game and not let them intimidate us like they have done in the past. We are certainly capable of beating them so will be interesting to see how it goes. Hopefully be a bumper crowd along at Pittodrie for ths one 2-0 - May and Shinnie
-
A great win for us last night and we played well for the whole game, Dundee were woeful, but it shouldn't detract from our performance as wouldn't be the first time we have struggled against a shyte side. Big Sam looking more like a player now and if May could just get a little bit more luck in front of the goal he would go on a scoring run also, we are a far better team when we attack I understand why we don't attack some teams, but we should line up like this far more often. McLennan is a good player, but there are times when his inexperience shines through, but you always get a bit excited when he is on the ball. I would say our choice of subs was frustrating, Ball on for May at 4-0 was baffling. I have to go for Cosgrove for my MOTM, led the line well and scored 2 good goals and unlucky with a great shot in the first half which the keeper struggled to hold, but I thought we played well as a team as a whole. Expecting a tougher game against Hearts on Saturday who will be brutal to play against Saturday after their humiliation against Livi last Friday, I just hope we attack them and not hold off against them.
-
I hear where your coming from, but the reality is he doesn't owe us anything, we signed him he has done well enough for us and put himself back in the shop window and earning himself the possibility of getting a decent contract down south.
-
Another tough game. McIntyre has them better organised if nothing else, but we should have enough to get past them. I'm going for a 2-0 win for us, a Shinnie screamer and a McGinn free kick.
-
I'd be very surprised if they didn't, he looks like he is going to be a quality player and should have no problems fitting in to the Derby team. If not, be glad to keep him for the season.
-
Another good 3 points for us today and great to see big Sam on the scoresheet and whose last two goals have won us 6 points. Need to keep it up against DUndee on Tuesday night.

Agree 100% with your comments on Wright. I think he goes in to games knowing he has to play out of his skin to keep his place in the starting line up, regardless of how well others are doing and I think that type of pressure gets to him and I think it would get to most players, I would also agree with whoever said it earlier that he has not had a real run of games to see how he gets on, I have seen GMS and McGinn be utter shyte for periods and never get hooked or dropped, even though you know with these types of players there will be periods that it just doesn't happen for them and they have to be taken out of the team for the good of themselves and the team. Wright is a clever player and can see a pass, what he isn't is a wide player IMO, I see him as an attacking midfielder playing just behind the stiker in a free role. Sadly I feel he will have to move away from us to progress.
-
I cannot make this one due to work, but sadly not too bothered if being honest. No idea who will be starting expect some changes after yesterday though, but never quite sure with DM, although Wright and McLennan I would imagine will be dropped. Livi will make it bloody hard for us as they fight for everything, do we have enough about us to cope and have enough quality to get the result.
