Chris Forrester - Finished?
TheDeeDon replied to KennyFuckinPowers's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
He was back on the bench today, which I found surprising, even more surprising that we were shyte in the middle of the park and offering nothing going forward, but still Gleeson and Forrester were left on the bench. It's hard to think anything other than they are both finished for us. -
I thought he was our best midfielder on the pitch today, possibly says how bad we were more than how good he is.
-
well that was shite, got what we deserved, but still a hard one to take. I don't think we can take any positives from the game today and will be another tough test against Live on Tuesday night. Something needs to change in the middle of the park, we have plenty of fight, but very little quality.
-
Should be a tough game tomorrow, but you imagine we would be well up for this one after Wednesday night. Agree we should be looking to attack more in this game though. We know the crux of the team, just need to see who DM decides will start up front and who comes in for Ball.
-
A decent squad player and has shown he does a job in the big games in the middle of the park. ideally we should be looking for a better type of player or producing our own, but such are the finances of our game he is worth holding on to, something I would never have imagined myself saying after his Hampden performance against Motherwell last season.

Celtic V Aberdeen League Cup Final - Sunday 2nd Dec
TheDeeDon replied to Chris Frae Killie's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Well we battled hard and the players pretty much gave their all, but in the final third of the pitch we were woeful, not helped by losing GMS to a bad head knock, which up until then we were doing fine, then sickeningly losing the goal just before half time and lo and behold it was Christie who scored it, oh the joys of developing other teams in the same leagues players. I thought Max Lowe was the standout on the pitch today, what a player he could end up being and not a hope in hell of getting him on a permanent deal. The refereeing was shyte, didn't contribute to the result overall and justice looked to be served when Joe saved the pen, which didn't look like a pen from where I was standing, though didn't have the best of views, but he shouldn't be allowed near top flight games IMO. Not sure how we resolve our issues in attack, which will be hurt even more with GMS out for a few weeks as per standard with that type of knock, but hopefully Wright or McLennan can step up and offer us something which we are missing and start to create chances for someone to put away. A big shout out to the Glasgow Police who showed utter ineptitude when dealing with the loon on the pitch, fuck they like the pomp of marching out on to the pitchside after a goal is scored or a penalty awarded, but their response to a minor incident yesterday was embarrassing. Scott Brown really is a horrible cunt and why nobody has ever taken him out with a real horror tackle is a mystery. -
Celtic V Aberdeen League Cup Final - Sunday 2nd Dec
TheDeeDon replied to Chris Frae Killie's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I suspect it will be the same team from Saturday that will start on Sunday, but have a horrible feeling he may drop Lowe for Consi at LB if Devlin is fit. I'm not too fussed who starts, bearing in mind we know pretty much who will be starting and DM will possibly throw in a curveball, but whoever does should go out and play the game of their lives. -
We are possibly all in shock after expecting at least a decent performance today considering we have a final to look forward to next week. Like yourself KFP I too listened to the radio and heard Dodds speak about Wilson. The loon has talent, but something not right, possibly thinks he is too good for our game?? By the sounds of it we weren't far off the pace for about 60 minutes, but never took our chances whereas Motherwell did, then after their third we were out of it and a case of damage limitation. Hopefully we will have Devlin back for the final and keep our defence settled, but fuck knows who we will start with up front, but I do suspect Cosgrove will be on from the start. Fairly puts a spoiler on a Saturday night when we lose badly.
-
Proper football back and coming up to a busy month for us which will define our season. Bar Devlin, it should be the same team which lined up against Hibs for me. It will be a tough one, but will hopefully see the players up for it with a cup final coming up the following week. 2-1 May and Wilson

Got my letter too. When I saw it I thought it was my usual £10 yearly cheque. IIRC I got three £10 cheques one year and though I was on a roll, as good as it got for me though.

I know it's a few years old now, but just finished King Joeys book, the one with Charlie Allen and was wondering if anyone knew who the Rangers player was who spat in his face during his early playing days at Aberdeen, but wouldn't/couldn't name in the book? I could only think of Alec MacDonald?

I was listening to the game on Sportsound this afternoon and at the final whistle that was my final thought.

Decent enough game, glad to have come away with the points, a couple of good goaline clearances from Logan helped and as said previously Hibs were quite shit in the final 3rd. We're winning games but we just don't look good in the middle of the park, we battle, but lack quality and we have no real threats going forward bar GMS who can look great in flashes and utter shyte at other times, but he has always been like that. McGinn just looks a shadow of his former self, looks like he has lost any pace he once had, he is OK from dead ball situations or if he has enough time and space, but stuggles to get past players now, not sure if he is carrying some sort of injury, but a shadow of his former self. Our defence does look so much better with Lowe at left back, nothing against Considine, but when you see a natural LB in the position it is like comparing night and day. I do enjoy a Friday night game and was great to see a good crowd given the weather wasn't the greatest. I noticed at the end of the game the Hibs fans threw a flare into the SS, muppets.
-
That is the problem for me, potentially enhancing the values of their players whilst overlooking our own kids. There was no doubt he did do a job for us, bar his last few months where he didn't really do much, but possibly better all round not to have loans between clubs in the same league.

I'm glad I read this and discovered I wasn't the only who was scratching my head at the minutes silence before the Hamilton game.

So that was correct, I thought it was an error. I have pretty shit seats too, but won't be complaining when Shinnie lifts the trophy. -

Got my tickets last night, and have to say I was very impressed with the online process. -
I like the Friday night games too and this one has the potential to be a cracker. I just hope we go for them and expose their defensive frailties and not try and sit back and defend, as never comfortable when we play that style. I'm going for 3-2 us, May, GMS and Anderson with a last minute winner. I would also expect a reasonably big crowd.
-
God brought it up on the radio when it happened and said it was just frustration. He may well be playing shyte, but still managed to set up the equalizer and is usually capable of creating something when on the pitch, but doesn't offer us anywhere near the level of performance he was capable of during his first spell with us.
-
SHit performance, but great result to cap off a great 8 days for us. As for our best line up at the moment, the starting line up from the Accies game on Wednesday night for me.

Aberdeen v Hamilton - Halloween fright night
TheDeeDon replied to RicoS321's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I thought Wright did well last night and suspect he will improve with a run of games, which he badly needs as I think he had a wasted season, last season. -
Aberdeen v Hamilton - Halloween fright night
TheDeeDon replied to RicoS321's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I thought it was a strange game last night, don't think I have heard Pittodrie so quiet, I think outwith the goals the only song which was sung was when Logan had his great shot saved and 'One Shay Logan' went around the ground. would have put the crowd at about 8k, which was greatly helped by a fairly big Hamilton support. Thought we played well, Hamilton were very shite, but we did what we had to and took our goals well, unlucky not to have another couple. Wilsons goal was my favourite, that is a loon who knows where the goal is and will shoot on sight and not look to take an extra touch, his was a cracking finish, hopefully we can keep him fit. The starting line up is possibly our strongest line up for me and doesn't contain our two main summer signings, but good to see the kids getting game time in games like these. -

Just checked my loyalty points for the first time ever and can easily get tickets in the first release. I had a horrible feeling I would have been well down the pecking order for tickets with all this DNA shyte. -

I'd go for the same line up as Sunday, but with Lowe in for Considine and just go for Hamilton from the off, that line up is possibly our strongest at the moment and should be more than capable to brushing aside Hamilton. Hoping to see a good crowd also on the back of Sunday. 3-0 Wilson x 2 and Wright. -
Whilst it will be great to win the semi next week, I honestly don't think it will get a lot of fans back onside. He lost a lot of us with last Decembers will he/wont he debacle. He should have been shown the door as soon as he felt he had a decision to make about going to the hun, but he lucked out and got a pay rise fae the dodgy builder.
