We wer. shyte and deserved sweet fanny adams from the game. McInnes is coming up for 6 years in charge of us and it still grips my shit that we lose so many of games like these, you would think he would have learned by now. Just not good enough. Our poor recruitment over the past few seasons is really biting us on the arse big time at the moment. We have some good players, but my goodness in matches what count you can really seperate the wheat fom the chaff.

Bonobo is a great Vegan place, but the downside for me is that it is fairly small, but their food selection is great and tasty. DO you ever try the one on Thistle Street Buc, FoodStory? Keen to hear your thoughts on that one.

Couldn't agree more, but not quite sure what its got to do with Willie Miller though.

It should always be a 50/50 split, with the understanding that if one team can't sell out their allocation then the other team has an option to obtain more. It doesn't matter what club it is, there will always be more 'fans' looking for tickets for cup finals or the big meaningful games than most of the meaningless games, that's always been the fickle nature of football in general not just Aberdeen. We didn't even sell out Pittodrie for our next home game after we took 40000+ fans to Parkhead for the League Cup final in 2014.

Any way to have the SFA/SPFL listen to the views of fans.

Well said. Grant was a superb footballer, one of my favourite players ever, who you really noticed how good he was when not in the team. Did a hell of a lot of the donkey work in the middle of the park which allowed our more creative players, like Jim Bett, do do their thing. -
There is actually, give NI back to the Irish. Can't see that causing any issues.

I think we will end up back at the polls in the next 6 months for a general election with the offer of another referendum to decide our future and in which we will vote to stay. I'm sick of hearing about it if being honest, especially from all the experts spouting their shyte for whatever side they sit on.

I think under Smith in the late 80s and early 90s we had the players to win trophies and in my opinion a manager like Fergie would have brought us the title in 91 with the squad of players we had at the time. I always thought we under achieved with that squad. -
McLennan scored a goal and played well on Saturday so that should mean we won't see him the rest of the season now.
-
Yeah, he admits to not being in the best of places when he was with us, he started off so well at the time. I was always led to believe he was loaded through property development, which I now assume to be a pile of shyte.

It should be a cracking game, full of incident, but little football being played. I would love us to win this one, as never been a lover of the boys from Gorgie, I find them a horrible club. I'll go for 1-0 us.

Aye Stewarty you reap what you sow loon. You were very well placed to change how things are run in our game, but still wanted to keep the 'natural order'. JUst when I think I couldn't hate Milne anymore he comes out with this shite. -
I see Archibald got the dunt from Partick last night. He has been on the downward slope ever since he turned down the SHrewsbury gig after getting Thistle into the top 6. He should have realised there was nothing left for him to do at Thistle at that point.

If the same one I am thinking, I thought it was Forrester who made that pass? Whoever it was it was fucking perfection and shows there must be talent in them somewhere as that was no fluke.

Another very good win against a poor St Mirren side. I didn't think they would be as bad as the LC game, but I thought they were worse. We played well though and was great to see Cosgrove get the opener, he was unlucky earlier from a rebound from a GMS shot. Also great to see McLennan and Lowe score as well, just a pity we couldn't have got a few more which would have been deserved. Thought we were good all over today and a pity to lose that cheap goal we gave to them Joe wasn't a happy bunny at that one, he slammed his water bottle off the ground afterwards. I'm not one for having a go at players, but not sure how Gleeson and Forrester are ever going to fit in with us they just don't look up to standard and we look as though we have better kids coming through who deserve more of a chance, but on the other hand Dom Ball, who was pish for most of last season is making it hard to be dropped from the side at the moment, so maybe there is still hope. Joe was right off the pitch at full time today, he clapped the fans briefly then shook hands with the St Midden goalie and was straight down the tunnel, not like him at all. Did see him in Union Square just after 6, so maybe he was keen to get off sharp for his Birthday, pity he didn't get the clean sheet though.

I remember hearing of the incident whilst listening to the game on Saturday, the great unwashed were up in arms, which you would expect, but even the guys on the radio weren't critical of it and Bonner usually struggles to be objective with anything to do with his beloved hoops. Our game is so fucked.

We played our best game of the season so far, in my opinion when we played them in the League Cup and whilst not expecting another emphatic performance such as we got that day, we have to beat them and should be more than capable of doing so. Not even going to bother with the line up prediction as we know the crux of the team, just our attacking options we are unsure about and who will partner Shinnie in the middle. Going for a good 2-0 win for us as St Mirren cannot be as bad as they were in the LC a few weeks back.

Hibernian v Aberdeen Betfred Cup Quarter-Final
TheDeeDon replied to Lencarl's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
We can certainly beat Hibs, but no idea what sort of line up we will go with, I fear another poor defensive performance from us and will scrape something from the game. -
I would have to agree that he needs to get another midfielder in during the January window if he cannot get more from Gleeson before that time. I don't fancy going the next few months with just Shinnie and Ball in the middle. I thought we were shyte on Saturday, not as bad as the Killie game, but shyte nonetheless. I ken, we got 3 points and a clean sheet, but it was torture on the eyes. Motherwell are brutal, not much footballing ability in that side whatsoever, but we shouldn't have to match teams like that to get points.
-
Not going to be a game for the purists tomorrow, but reckon we should grind out a win, but please just let us be better than we were against Killie, that was like a throwback to the bad old years. Hopefully we see a change in the weather as a bit cold at the moment, along with a change in fortune for our strikers. 1-0 - Lowe COYR
-
Well that was shyte and don't think we would have won with 11 men on the park. When we threw on Cosgrove I knew it was game over for us. McGinn is clearly unfit and shouldn't be near the pitch, I know he nearly scored from the free kick, but the rest of his play was woeful and when reduced to 10 men you need the rest of the team to step up a gear and not to go into reverse. The ref was a dick, but not to be unexpected as he has plenty of previous, but I thought we were pretty rank today and was willing the game to finish,

Wright took a sore one last week against St Mirren and was struggling a little before he came off so the injury must have kept him out today. Sounds like we struggled today, but tactics/line up sounded a tad weird, would have thought Logan would have been in at RB, but what the fuck do I know. Still a point at Easter Road is not to be sniffed at, but we should have attacked them more instead of trying to hit them on the counter.
-
I'd go with that line up, but I'm afraid to say that Wright played so well on Saturday he is bound to be dropped for the Hibs game, I hope not though. I expect Gleeson to remain in the line up and for McGinn to come in for Wright.
-
Although he didn't play badly today, none of our players did, I just think Gleeson is struggling a bit with the pace of the game up here, a few players take their time to settle. Forrester is a strange one though haven't seen anything in the short time I have seen him on the pitch as why we signed him. I hope he can prove me wrong, but he looks like he might be a Maynard type signing in that he only stops another young player from being on the bench, he looks very lightweight. As for Ball he seems to be trying bloody hard to stay in the team which is good for us. Some of his passes today were superb and he made a few decent tackles as well when called upon. There was one pass he made in the second half which looked shit, but it was nearly perfect, the only bad point was May being flagged offside when he got on the end of it. It just goes to show what a run of games can do for a player.
-
Well that was very enjoyable, been a long time since I enjoyed a 90s minutes as much as I did that. I actually asked the loon if the announcer said Scott Wrigh when reading out the teams as I thought I was hearing things. I was willing him on big time to get a goal today, if he hadn't been so classy in setting up May the way he did he would have done, but I thought that was a great thing for him to do. Ross I thought was excellent in the opening exchanges, but he seemed to be trying to prove a point to some Saints players and then I remembered he was playing for their arch rivals Morton last season so I assume something happened is one of the games against them. Shinnie did give him a talking to after May had scored, I think he was telling him to calm down, but he should certainly be getting more game time this season. Shinnie at LB makes us look more balanced and I do hope we can get him signed up, we really need to push the boat out for him as we need him, he is fucking superb. Ferguson I find hard to believe is still a teenager, he plays like he has been around for ages, he is a great passer of the ball. Devlin is also shaping up to be another great find and it was great to see May get his goal St Mirren were shit, but it shouldn't detract from how good we were. Wright was my man of the match, I loved his directness and it would be very harsh if he was dropped next week, but he is clearly not one of the managers favourites so I expect to see him benched. I actually thought the crowd was decent enough today for a league cup fixture with no discounted tickets, folk need to remember that a lot of guys going to the football do struggle to find money for tickets outwith their season tickets.
