  1. Bar his first season with us I thought Hayes was a tremendous player for us. His final ball let him down at times, but if he had that we would never have had him in the first place. His workrate was tremendous and even when having a shit game he was still running about trying to create or defend. We really missed him last season and I would have had him back, but not now that we have McGinn back having them both back would be a huge step backwards for us.
  2. £22 for my ticket in the Merkland end for a league cup game, at that prices I don't imagine a great crowd. I'm sure it used to be £15 previous seasons. I listened to the St-Midden game on Sunday and their defence seemed very suspect, I would have two up front for this one and go for goals. 4-0 to us, Shay to mark his comeback with the opener then a debut hat-trick for Wilson. 3. I think he would be too old to play him. At 45 he would be hitting 50 by the time of the next film, need a younger loon to play him in my opinion. No idea who though. I couldn't care less about the colour of the skin of JB, but it cannot be far off the point of female taking on the role, such are the strange times we live in.
  4. A shit game for us but will happily take the three points. God was doing the commentary on Sportsound and said we will struggle if Cosgrove is our main attacking threat. I think he has a role to play in the team, but certainly not the player we need to put the ball in the net. For me Anderson should start the next game, if we haven't got anyone in by then.
  5. I think Villa have got themselves a bargain with McGinn. I really rate him as a player and glad he has went south and not to either of the ugly sisters.
  6. I actually feared the worst when I saw Ball at RB on Sunday, but he did fine enough considering. I have actually been impressed the way in which he came back from the Motherwell semi final game, from which I didn't even expect him to feature again for the club, let alone come back for a second spell. A decent enough player to have in the squad and he seems to like playing here which is always a bonus.
  7. First league game of the season and we were truly awful, really, really poor. The only bright spot was Anderson getting the equaliser and the rat going off injured after a challenge by May, that's Karma for you. Whether it was just our usual insipid performance against them or a sign of things to come for the coming season I honestly do not know, but right now I suspect it will be the latter. I cannot believe how bad we were today, if you were watching the game not knowing anything about the teams you would have thought it was the Aberdeen manager making his debut in the Scottish league, not the Rangers one, he is fuckling clueless at times.
  8. I see Josh MaGennis scored in his debut for Bolton yesterday at West Brom. Fair play to the loon for having the career he has had, he maybe doesn't have that much ability wise, but he is a hell of a trier. I didn't expect to hear much about him when he left us, so again fair play to him.
  9. Back to proper football on Sunday and looking forward it, always enjoy the first game of a season and hope we can send Gerrard and his motley crew back down the road with zero points. Last nights game will have taken its toll on us, so be interesting to see how we line up against them I'm not making a prediction on this one though as I really don't trust McInnes against these cunts. COYR
  10. Hopefully by not paying their taxes to Hector.
  11. She is going to be challenged for the leadership very soon, the big buffoon has had this calculated for some time and I suspect some more may resign also and force the leadership contest. I do suspect Boris will end up like Tarzan and never get the prize he most wants, but fuck what a mess we would be in if he did, in fact we are screwed if any of the Tory right candidates get in, as they will make Camerons government look like Atlees posgt war government. I don't think it can end in anything other then another referendum and whilst they are at it get another Scottish one on the go too.
  12. It was a very well put email, but the bit in bold sums up the problem with our club at the moment.
  13. Rooney has been one of my favourite players over the past few years and not his fault our manager cannot use him properly. I wouldn't like to see him move to that bunch of clowns though, he deserves better than a mickey mouse club like Utd
  14. It didn't really go into too much detail about the match squad, it was more about the hype and build up to the actual tournament and the disasters which hit them when they got to Argentina. It also focused a lot on Ally MacLeod and the treatment of both him and the players from the press. For the record I never realised Derek Johnstone played for Scotland until last night, the things we learn.
  15. All 4 of the above.
  16. There is something about Kenny Miller I just don't like and I don't trust him either. I really hope we don't sign him.
  17. Scotland 78: A Love Story - I not long finished watching this and have to say I enjoyed it a lot. I was only four at the time and although I have some vague memories I have never been familiar with the team or the build up. The usual funny stories about guys going to Argentina to watch the games and how they got there. Some village I assume in the Highlands or West Coast digging a ditch to get a TV ariel to their village for the first time. There seemed to be a real belief and optimism that it was our cup to win and to be fair we didn't have that bad a squad, but I cannot get my head around us not doing any scouting on the opposition as we just assumed we would beat them King Joey and Stuart Kennedy feature in the programme which was nice to see and I never realised Kennedy played, I always thought it was McGrain and Jardine as full back by that point.
  18. Pubs hardly make money nowadays as it is so doubt very much any of them will manage to put on a shuttle bus. I am sure fans pre and post game habits will have been far from the thoughts of the great and the good at AFC who thought up the stadium location.
  19. I much preferred the Kenny McLean of the last few months of last season, more in keeping with the player I thought we had signed. I think he is a good player, but I don't think DM used him correctly for the majority of his time with us. He played a big part in us finishing second and will be a big miss for us.
  20. The walk down Merkland Road East on the way to the game. I travel past the site of the new place everyday going to work and afraid to say I will never get the same feeling about attending it, it feels very soulless.
  21. All well and good about a direct replacement for McLean, but I just hope we don't have to wait two and a half years to see the best of him like we did McLean. Welcome aboard loon
  22. I had a tear in my eye when I read he was gone. a real shame, but what a life he packed into his years. Hopefully the club can arrange something good as a tribute to him. RIP Neale.
  23. The more I am hearing this is not good One of my first memories of supporting Aberdeen was as an 8 year old in 1982, and he scored that goal against the hun and will always be an AFC legend. A fine loon
  24. DD it was cold during the winter, I stay to the North of the City and days could have snow outside, but go into centre and nothing. Even when it snows, it usually hangs about longer out in the shire than it does in the City. Once we move to our shiny new stadium, you'll appreciate how colder it gets the further out of the city you go.
  25. There is a good player in May, but I think a combination of our fairly poor tactics last season and lack of fitness have not helped his cause during his time with us. I actually think he is an intelligent player who will add to the team, IF played correctly, he is also quite good for set pieces. He needs a really good pre season under his belt this summer to get his fitness levels up and hopefully we can see more of the player we all thought we had signed last summer. Both Rooney and May had poor seasons last year, but our manager must take a large share of the blame for how he used them. The loss of Hayes last season really hurt us and was probably the best signing Celtic made last summer.
