Well said and pretty much my thoughts too.
-
Be a good move for Wright, if true, as he needs games badly and cannot see him getting much with us in the short term anyway, unless we are hit with an injury crisis. The downside would be him having to play alongside the insidious Foster.
-
I thought GMS was tracking back more today, he was also swapping sides with McGinn which I had not seen him do up until today, maybe that had an influence on his game? Hopefully he can learn a thing or two from Niall, who I thought was superb and was the difference between the teams. I think we would have been beat if he was not back with us. Glad to read I wasn't the only one impressed with Mulumbu, I thought he bossed the middle of the park.

Great to see the Jutes get another pumping today, at home to Morton.
-
No idea how long Joe is out for, but if a while then no doubt DM will try and get someone in on loan, but I would keep Rodgers at number one until at least Joe gets back to fitness. He has waited long enough to get his chance and deserves it in my opinion.

The second half is about to get underway on Alba Just watched the 2nd McKenna goal, a thing of beauty, stunning. Has to be a goal of the season contender in my opinion. Watched the McGinn goal again as well, that was another superb goal, didn't realise he was so far out when he scored.

Well that was an interesting game and gave us a goal we will probably talk about for years to come. McGinn and McKenna were back in the line up, which was no real surprise, at the expense of Christie and Reynolds, but Dom Ball starting was a big surprise, another McInnes curve ball. Rodgers was in for Lewis, but we knew that anyway. We started off well enough and were unlucky not to score with a great shot from McGinn. We passed the ball about well enough and looked comfortable for the opening 15-20 minutes, then Killie started to get a hold in the game, that boy Mulumbu they have in the centre is a beast of a midfielder and he really started to make his presence felt in the game and was bossing the middle of the park then lo and behold they score through Boyd, it bloody had to be that fat hun bastard, then we weren't at the races for the rest of the half and Killie were probably lucky not to score a second, a great stop from Rodgers stopped them going 2 up, I thought we were awful for the rest of the first half and they were booed off at half time. No changes for us in the 2nd half, but Killie put on Irwin, so obviously thought we were there for the taking so was interesting to see how we responded and what better way than getting an equaliser through McKenna, never had a good view of the goal and didn't know who scored it until it was announced, but you could see the lift it gave the players. Then a few minutes after this McKenna picks the ball up in the centre and with nobody closing him down you could see him teeing up an audacious shot which ordinarily would end up in the RDS, but not today, he smashed it past the keeper from what looked like 40 yards out, the stadiium was bouncing with this one and glad to be able to say I witnessed it as it was one of those goals which will be talked about for years. To be fair to Killie they still kept coming at us and tried to get the equaliser, but then up pops Niall to score a peach of a third and settles the match for us. A decent enough game and Killie are a far better team than the one which came here in August under old Elbows. Boyd is still a cunt though and a fat one at that, the guy is huge and no way is that muscle. Surprised to see Clarke having a player like that in the team. Their goalie McDonald is a cunt also, never liked him. The new boy from City came on for the last few minutes and got himself booked, which looked a little soft but welcome to Scoland loon. We are soft as fuck in the middle of the park SHinnie was bossed out of the game today by Mulumbu and we really need to sort out our central pairing at the back, O'Connor is just not good enough and we should look to get rid in the summer. If Arnie cannot play games due to whatever reason then he has to go also, but if he is left out for other reasons then DM needs his head looked at. I know we have Devlin, but we need someone for between now and May. Glad to get the three points and great to see Niall back on the score sheet. What a 2nd goal dfrom McKenna though. Edit: Thought Rodgers did well today. First time I have seen him play and saved us on a couple of occassions.

Not sure if posted on here already, but I heard today that Christie has been offered an extension from Celtic, but has turned it down unless he gets assurances of first team football. The source is someone close to him and no idea if true, but if so it may mean we could have a chance to sign him. Also, I was told he loves it here. Quite possibly all shite I was told, but I do hope we at least try and get him signed up.

In for this one, which going on their current form could be a very hard game. They were shyte when we played them up here earlier on in the season, although they made it hard for us on the day, but their transformation since Clarke took over has been pretty impressive I have to say. Interested to see how they play under Clarke. I don't expect much tinkering to the team from Wednesday night, possibly McGinn for Stewart. 3-2 us with a 93rd minute winner from McGinn.

Reading this thread makes me even more worried about the lack of youth coming through our system. This surely has to be the way forward for our club, but don't think DM puts enough focus on this. McKenna has been the one upside this season and probably surprised most of us with his breakthrough, but we need a better success rate than we currently have. I also like the comment about Stewart and his fitting our system, pretty much nail on the head for me.

Mark E Smith is dead Nobody could touch him for originality and he did it his way. The upside to him popping his clogs is a day of 6 music playing Fall songs...Silver linings and all that.
-
I didn't take any interest in last nights game as I knew the outcome would be defeat, but still not great reading the scoreline this morning. I then hear that Mark E Smith has died which has made today a shit day already and just after 7 am. We just have to accept that with McInnes as our manager we will never stand up to either of the cheeks. As long as we make a good showing against the other 9 teams in our division then that is the best we can hope for. I keep thinking of the 1960s comedy sketch about class, the one with Cleese, Corbett and Barker when I think about our approach to Celtic and Rangers.
-
Well I couldn't have asked for more than that. Expected a difficult game and although St Mirren started off quite well, we were always in control. Bit of a wobble when they pulled one back, but once we hit the third it was game over and the peach of a fourth from GMS was the cherry on the cake. Great to see Nial back in a red jersey, welcome home loon, pity you didn't get a goal. Loved the three headers in the SS, brilliant and a shout out to the St Mirren fans who sang their hearts out and backed their team for the whole 90 minutes. I really hope McKenna and Arnason are back for Wednesday. Bring on the Brora.

In - Merkie - Loking forward to a good game of football. 3-0 the Dons - Rooney x 3

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the passing of the legendary Jason King. The actor Peter Wyngarde has died at the age of 90. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-42731220

It doesn't matter what the bid is what they hope to achieve is turning the players head in the hope that they try and force a move through, then we hear the usual shyte of them supporting them since he was a boy. The good thing is nowadays is that players are beginning to see moving to either of the bigot brothers isn't quite the dream move they may once have thought.
-
SO Tansey is off to Ross County on loan. I don't think he is a bad player, just doesn't seem to fit into the McInnes style of play, also wonder how much his injury impacted him. Hopefully we have someone else coming in for the centre of midfield.
-
DO you not think that despite of our difficulties in putting the ball in the net and Maynard never getting a start may suggest that even DM thinks Maynard is not up to the task? I have a feeling Maynard will be away in the next few weeks.
-
I honestly thought Christie was 20 going 21.
-
I see Warburton has been binned by Forest. Nae doubt another basket case club Deek will be linked with.

A little bit more compsure in the box and we take the 3 points simple plenaty of effort today by the team and the consistent fouling by Hearts was frustrating. Would have been a huge injustice if Hearts stole the 3 points, they did create some chances through hitting us on the break, but their finishing was woeful and a great save from Joe in the first half kept it even when it looked easier to score. Hearts are a fucking horrible footballing team and should have lost more than 1 man, but they were fortunate the incompetent Beaton was the man in charge today and he played the incompetent part well. Felt a bit sorry for Greg Stewart not starting today, he didn't deserve to be benched after such a good shift on Wednesday night. I would have dropped O'COnnor instead. I thought Logan was honking today in the first half. Great to see Niall on the pitch before the game started for 2018 I really hope we can get Christie signed up on a deal, he really is a fantastic player I love his drive and determination and willingness to try things, sometimes he tries to hard, but you have to remember he is only a youngster and will only get better with age.

ANother tough game coming up. Apparently Considine will be OK for the match today, happy enough with that as wasn't happy with the thought of Reynolds starting, although knowing DM he might still do. Be great to finish off the year with 3 points against this mob, a club I really detest. Looking forward to some good displays from our attacking players who should really be wanting to keep McGinn out of the team with his imminent arrival with some good displays. 2-1 us. Rooney x2 COYR
-
Happy with him returning. I have to admit to writing some shite about him at times, especially when he played his heroes, but we do miss him from the team.
-
Thought Considine and Stewart played very well tonight and glad Rooney got his goal, hopefully we can put this Maynard shyte to bed once and for all. We huffed and puffed a lot and Thistle made it very hard for us at times, thought we were unlucky when Rooneys first goal was ruled out due to a foul on the keeper, it seemed very harsh, had a decent view of it from the Merkie, but the ref didn't want to give us much throughout the game. As for the scrote Storey, quite sure the fucker meant to hurt COnsidine with his challenge which saw Considine go off injured. Not long after Stewart limped off injured and both Shay and O'Connor were limping about at times as well during the match. We did a professional job tonight to get the points, not a game for the purists, but three points and a clean sheet and would have been an injustice if Thistle left with a point, got what they deserved. It was a cold match though, but a decent enough crowd all things considered. Bring on the diet huns on Saturday, although I suspect we will be the only team trying to play something resembling football.

Whilst Rooney has not set the world on fire this season I would put the blame firmly at the door of McInnes for that one. Rooney scores goals from chances set up by the team, which we haven't really been doing this season. He battles hard and can hold the ball up reasonably well, but when it comes to finishing he has been one of our best, but he is not a winger or provider and at his stage in his career is never going to adapt.
