  1. It's quite obvious you have never seen the guy play in the flesh with your continued backing of him. He may have once had something as a football player, but it is long gone, another McInnes gamble which has failed and cost another young kid game time. We would have been better off keeping Stockley than signing Maynard. Anyway, back to the game, We always get tough games against Thistle and cannot see tomorrow being any different. I hope McKenna is back for this as Reynolds is in the same bracket as Maynard for me, a player who has long lost the ability to play football at a decent level, unfortunatley we gave him a new 3 year deal. McLean would be out for me also, but so thin is our squad I doubt this will happen, I would certainly get rid of him in January. I'll leave the selection though to the great Pittodrie tombola and hope we do enough to get the three points. Looking forward to it and predict a 1-0 win for us and couldn't give a flock who scores it.
  2. Would you expect anything else from the classless cunt? Unfortunatley for Scottish football, we have such a losing mentality against these fuckers that we can't even use shite like this to raise our game against them. Deek should be using this sort of stuff to get our players well up for Saturday, but sadly we will take to the field knowing full well we will be losing 3 points before a ball is kicked.
  3. A really good game of football to watch from an AFC viewpoint. We are always at our best when we go out and play and don't give a fuck as to who the opposition are. Really chuffed for GMS who looked well up for it and has maybe shown that there is a player who can make a big difference for us. SOme of his overall play was really good and the sort of stuff you want to see when you go to a game of football. The only downside to it all were results elsewhere which really brings home the loss of 6 points in dubious circumstances to them. We were so good we even tried a training ground corner kick in the first half, with Anthony O'Connor taking the corner and McLean running in for a shot, which although it worked, the shot was never going to bother the keeper. Three points at the tattiedome would really shake things up. COYR
  4. Another tough game for us and not exactly a happy place for us over the years, but another result to be ground out by. Selection wise, I have gave up trying to guess with McInnes. You know the core line up, it's just the curve balls he throws in which infuriate me. I would like to see Arnason return beside McKenna, who has been the one bright spot of our season so far. 1-2 Wright and Stewart.
  5. It was the best of times and it was the worst of times. The squad we had and football we played at times was exceptional, but too many draws coupled with inconsistent form at the beginning of the season cost us dearly, but what a finish we had. We should have won it that season and potentially changed the shape of Scottish football. Happy times to be a Dandy. I mind getting beat fae Utd in a Xmas or New Years game at home, it was an evening game and it was fecking cold, the result just made it a miserable night. I also mind a league cup game at Stranraer and their goalie screaming at his defence the entire game.
  6. The same thing happens with Kenny McLean after he reads your posts about him DD., that's why he is leaving. The lass got bullied because she wouldn't have sex with a gay man/porn star. Don't see what the issue was with her saying so, seems fair enough she should chose who to have sex with regardless of her line of work, but we live in strange times where honest opinions aren't welcome. I don't think a lot of us folk on here get mainstream social media and how much it impacts the lives of younger people. I'm glad we only had tin cans and string when I was a lad.
  7. A hard fought three points with Dundee very unlucky not to get something against us, be a crime if they go down IMHO, as they at least try and play football. I like the lad Deacon, seems to have something about him, but think he would be a hot and cold type of player. 3 points were all that mattered last night and we got them. After this past week I will not comment on individual performances and tactics as the job was done. COYR.
  8. I'd say the squad needs major surgery, but don't think it will be in January. Another centre back with good experience for me IF Arnason and McInnes have fallen out, or whatever is happening, we need somebody reliable and composed in beside McKenna. How we gave Reynolds a new deal is beyond me, but anyway. If we see Shinnie as a midfielder we need a new LB, we know it makes sense, only Del seems to think differently. (Is it OK to have a pop a DM for footballing matters now, or too soon?) Midfield is a big priority, doubts over Tansey, but I do believe his fitness was the big problem, I remember a certain Mr Hayes being pish for us in his first season, albeit played out of position and heard many a fan have a go at him at Pittodrie and claiming he wasn't good enough, not saying Tansey would ever be as good as Hayes was, but don't think we saw the real him so far. Not convinced we are getting 100% from McLean and would look to get rid in January. A proper wide player with some pace would be great too as well as another quality striker and punt Maynard, not really worked out for the guy and probably best he leaves. We also need to start giving proper runs to our young players and not fuck about with them like we currently do. Aye they may have bad games, but plenty of our first picks have had many a mare. I don't think we have enough about us at the moment to get us that second position if I am being honest and it will be an interesting window and I don't think we can afford not to try and recruit during this upcoming window.
  9. That line alone was worth a Simmie.
  10. Maybe Frank Ross didn't do enough to start, but not many others did enough to keep their place, so give the loon a chance, he might not be good enough, but we have enough first team players in the same boat, so why not oor loons? We have been all over the shop the past few games and just need three points tomorrow by whatever means necessary. A hard game it will be and thought Dundee were unlucky up here at the start of the season, didn't expect them to struggle like they have. 0-1 - Nicky Maynard.
  11. Not sure what to make of this news, but have a horrible feeling if he does stays it is the beginning of the end for him here. It is a fucking mess, but hopefully if he is staying then we just get back to winning football matches.
  12. Get Fergie back in until the end of the season with Robson and Sheerin assisting and ensure we don't start to regress as a team. Hopefully with a bit of guidance maybe Sheerin and RObson could give us some continuity in the long term. Never going to happen, but not much other names fill me with confidence. Lennon would be a good manager for us, but him and Milne would never get on and I suspect he wouldn't fancy it either, along with around two thirds of our supports. We need a manager who believes in youth development big style.
  13. What a mess. If I detested Rangers before they are well off the hate scale now. We have let them destabilize our club to suit their own means and we have let them get away with it. When McInnes goes, there is no coming back for him now whatever the outcome, then Milne has to follow him out the door. We have seen levels of ineptitude during his chairmanship, but these last few weeks really have been his worst, IMHO. We needed a strong chairman the past few weeks and Milne has shown yet again his is not that person. I'm not too fussed about McInnes going, but he has left a mess behind him for the person who will take over. Paranoia maybe, but was this Rangers gameplan all along?
  14. That was awful. A really, really piss poor performance from us which I am struggling to take any sort of positive from. If Rangers want DM as their next manager they are welcome to him.
  15. Well I'll be along on Sunday, but no idea what sort of formation and tactics to expect from the great tombola. Will be looking forward to venting some spleen towards that classless, rat bastard, ex captain of ours. We have enough to beat these clowns and beat them well, but our "best manager since Fergie" sees thing a little differently to me and will look to contain them once again, regardless of the fact it didn't work on Wednesday.
  16. Well the tombola is certainly out tonight. What a strange line up and again DM appears to want to show us we can play 3 at the back. We shouldn't lie down and play defensive football against this bunch of charlatans.
  17. I have a bad feeling about this one. These little diddy teams raise their game against us and will throw everything at us tonight and of course will have a 12th man on their side. I will be surprised if we have 11 men on the pitch by the end. I have a horrible feeling the tombola will be out tonight from DM and we will show them too much respect. I'm not even going to make a prediction on the score.
  18. LIstening to the game on the radio and have to say Gordon SMith is a shyte pundit. I believe if we were winning 20-0 he would still find it hard to admit we have been the better team. SMith aside, a very welcome 3 points. I'd forgotten Mark Reynolds still plays for us.
  19. I think Killie will be more up for this than our lot, but I expect us to grind out a result with no football on show whatsoever. Going to be a cold and horrible game tomorrow, but a welcome 3 points for us. 2-0 McLean & May
  20. Over 400k going out to directors is shocking in my opinion. Just noticed our bankers are HSBC, they are the huns of the banking world, a horrible institution and our Auditors Deloitte are pretty much the same IMO. Duncan Fraser has earned his corn once again with some fine financial chicanery going on.
  21. Did we not also take Coutts on trial when he was still at Cove, sure it was under Brown, but nothing ever came of it. I saw the boy Nuttall a couple of times for the youths and he looked a decent player. He is a fairly big unit of a player, but has some pace on him. Good on the lad though for going elsewhere and trying to make a name for himself. Our youth development is something which does worry me under McInnes, but as for the question of the thread, there will always be ones who slip through the net no matter how hard we try.
  22. IIRC - The plan was to develop the the RDS then the Mainer straight after it, the other Merkie would have been done once finances were available after the initial developments, Dick Donald was still the chairman at the time this was announced and I have a very vague memory of the new main stand having a set of twin towers, a bit like Wembley. THis was around1990
  23. That was as poor I have seen us for a long time and the highlights on Sportscene last night flattered us a bit as Motherwell should have probably hit more than 2 and highlights made it look as though we played better than we actually did. Our outfield players look very unsure of their roles in the team and something just not clicking at the moment. McLean is playing every game and at times doesn't look interested, think it is a bad move having in him the team with him clearly off soon, not exactly going to go into 50/50 challenges with himself in the shop window. Christie is still head and shoulders about the rest of our current outfield players at the moment and we don't half miss the drive of Shinnie. I think a bit of clarification of the future of our manager would maybe settle some nerves. If he is not going fine, then come out publicly and state this, but if he is going, then fine, get him out now and concentrate on sourcing his replacement.
  24. going to my first Celtic game, around about 89, sitting up in the corner near the old beach end and nearly getting a dart in my head from one of the greatest fans in the world. I grew up a lot in footballing terms that day. Just looked it up, it was April 89 and it was a 0-0 draw, I mind the score and it was a pretty shit game if my memory serves me well. I had left school that week to start working and the following week I had my first ever wage packet of £42 and Aberdeen played at home and I paid my own enterance fee, I think it was £3, for a win against Motherwell. I did ask my Ma for the money as I thought it was covered in my £10 board. My workplace was in Merkland Road East and I used to love seeing Pittodrie every day.
  25. I shall be there along with my eldest loon this week, my youngest has a birthday party to go to so Pittodrie got the dunt. I don't think there will be much between the teams and predict a tight game. 1-0 Stevie May, 89th minute winner after the ball takes a wicked deflection off his arse. I hope we see Tansey on Saturday, I wasn't overly fussed when we signed him, but looks a steady enough player and I thought he was fairly decent with his set pieces and is a big lad also who can play a bit, be good to see him get a decnt run of games.
