I watched this, as despite having an irrational hatred of Liverpool Football Club, I think Shankly was the finest football manager ever, not in a trophy winning sense of course, but he created something at Liverpool which has never been created anywhere else, he become part of the city itself as much as the club and the scenes where the people come out to greet the team after winning the FA Cup for the very first time and they way in which they listened to him speak and hang on his every word was something to behold. Watching Ian St John & Keegan cry when speaking about him showed how much the man meant to the club and most of its players. Hard to believe now that three small mining communities in the west of Scotland gave the footballing world Stein, Shankly and Busby.

Worryingly, that is the type of manager the SFA want and will get.
-
I'm stunned that Shinnie didn't make the pitch last night.
-
Wow, both Jack and McLean start ahead of Shinnie. I take it he, Shinnie, must have a Wife/Partner of Oriental persuasion, if that two are in the team ahead of him. No wonder I find it hard to feel any real joy watching Scotland play
-
That will be Donsdaft down at the ticket office getting a ticket for the game now, on the back of your McLean announcement.

It would be a right bitter bastard who begrudged SHinnie a Scotland cap and funnily enough it is usually bitter ex huns who spew out this shyte. Boyd this week in the papers and I heard Alex Rae say the same thing on Off The Ball, 2 weeks ago. The guy has been a very consistent SPL player for a number of seasons now and gives us and also gave his former club Caley, a drive and determination which deserves a chance at international level in my opinion. I believe he will surprise a few if given a chance, maybe even a few bitter ex huns.

I would say our full backs are suffering as the guys in front of them don't give them the workrate and support which both Hayes or McGinn gave them, which often leaves us exposed down the flanks and has been used against us this season. I would call McGinn a lazy so and so when he was here, but he did track back a lot and Hayes just gave us an exceptional work rate atd both ends of the pitch. and I think teams know they can exploit this weakness. Both Logan and Shinnie like to push forward and I wouldn't like to see them stop that part of their game We are looking more solid at the back and McKenna is certainly shaping up to be a very good defender, but we are weaker in midfield IMO, which is causing us problems. I will be glad to see Tansey back in the middle of the park as was impressed withhim before he went off for his operation.

A brilliant read. I had the good fortune to meet him and some footballing event a few years ago and the man is just a gentleman of the highest order. I cannot remember too much about him as a player as just slightly before my time, but know many fans who claim he was their favourite player or that era. He likes to talk though and is a good story teller and tells some cracking stories. He didn't think much of Billy McNeil though, apparently he (McNeil) didn't rate him.

When you hear people bang on about our potential new stadium and what will happen if we don't get it, I think it is clear that Milne has won. I hate the man with a passion and detest what he has done to our club, but he has undoubtedly brainwashed the vast majority of our fans into thinking things are as good as they can be. McInnes has his limitations and possibly has taken us as far he can take us, but I really fear Milne being responsible for appointing another manager when he does leave

THat was some pass by Shinnie for Stewarts opener yesterday, it sounded good and it was even better when I watched the highlights tonight. As Michael Stewart quite rightly said, Shinnie should have been in the squad ages ago, he would be in double figures by now if he played for either of the ugly sisters. We have a good player in May, but he needs to be played through the middle as a central striker, not dicking about on the wings or playing deeper back. He has assisted in a few of our goals this season, which is great, but his biggest attribute is his ability to score goals and we need to create more as a team for him to to do his job, not look to him to be provider. THat pitch at Hamilton just doesn't look like a football pitch in the slightest, yes it is green and has white markings on it, but about as far as it goes for me and not meaning that as that as an excuse for us not winning yesterday, that was about tactics, just saying it is a shyte pitch. Go plastic by all means if you have to, but ensure it is of a good quality and Hamiltons is not.

Points dropped, but in reality Accies probably deserved at least a point from the match. SOunded a great game, be good to hear the thoughts of those at the game though.

Listening on the radio, sounds a great game, but Hamilton should be out of sight, if being honest.

Deluded cunts. You could have respected them a little bit and I mean a little teenie bit if they went down in 2012 and tried to build a stable football club, but no, same old, same old. Over spending from day one of their existence in the third division till the present day and still our media and authorities pander to the bastards with no shame. They are a fucking shambles and I hope our manager does not even contemplate going to manage this basket case of a club. -
A good win for us today, but I kept thinking we were going to rue the missed chances we spurned, but thankfully we held out for the 3 points which were deserved. Christies goal was superb and we are a far better team with him, but poses a huge question when playing the victims, as how do we replace him. My ten year old commented on Joe today that it was like watching Langfield in goal at times today, harsh, but fair comment as he did look shaky at times after the goal. Still got plenty credit left in the bank before we should even think of dropping him, which I have heard mentioned. Stewart I just cannot make up my mind about. He does have skills, but his decision making is shite, maybe a run of games is required to see the best of him, but same could be said about GMS also, players like them, I believe, need a good run of games to show their talents. Thought Maynard looked a bit sharper today and showed some good touches, badly needs a goal though. Thought O'Connor was poor today at times and was surprised not to see Tansey introduced at some point during the match. A good win and a decent enough performance.
-
FFS min. I ken you're not a fan of McLean, but nobody could claim he was shite today. He was my MOTM, I thought he had a great game today.
-
I don't think the huns would really want him as manager, this is based on his record against Celtic, not just taking the results into account, but our painfully abject performances against them and us supposedly being their closest challengers. I honestly don't think McInnes would cope with the pressure which would come with the Hun job, or any other big job for that matter.

Well after missing out on Wednesday night I am back in for this one. I suspect we may well see a decent game as Coyle does try and get his teams playing football regardless of how crap they actually are. We have to go for them today and get Wednesday night out of our system in the battle for second place.
-
Come on the Well. Hopefully they can pump the other half of the cheeks in the final and show there is more to our game than the ugly Sisters.

I stupidly agreed to go to Manchester this week totally forgetting about the midweek game against the victims. First home game missed in a few seasons now and what a game to be missing. The season tickets have been taken though and the spleen will be vented by proxy. I just hope we don't show them to much respect and play a defensive game as they will murder us. Agree we should drop Rooney for this one and put May up front on his own, just because he offers more in the role, but I am more concerned Deek has his tombola out and tinkers with our team unnecessarly. I think it will be a good game and I would love it (Keegan style) if we fucked up their winning streak.
-
A decent game and a good win. Good to see us stand up to some decent attacking play by Hibs, certainly a hell of an improvement at the back since McKenna has come in beside Arnason. Good the see GMS grab his first goal set up by a good pass from Kenny McLean, hopefully GMS will push on and show more of the player we know he can be. Be a shame to lose Christie against the victims and a little worried that DM put on Ball for GMS. Hopefully it was just to stop HIbs playing and to protect our lead and not any warped thinking about starting him against the victims. Half way through October and still unbeaten in the league a very pleasing start.

League 2 they are in. I think Stockley will end up in the championship. I didn't think he was as bad as some would say, just didn't fit in to the very strict system our manager plays.
-
One of the best team performances I have seen us play under McInnes, every player played the role they were given and played it well from start to finish. We looked balanced and creative and played some nice football at times. Christie is a joy to watch at times, always trying something different. Shinnie was class at LB and had a very good game The lad McKenna is a fair size of loon and doesn't take any prisoners, just what we have needed and hopefully he can keep it up. Nice to see us comfortable at the back. McLean played well, sorry Donsdaft. Rooney scored a Hat Trick, fair thought it was an O'COnnor header though. May is superb and a great player, never knew he was so good at taking set pieces. When he took the quick free kick for the first goal I said to my loon it was a waste, but then he got the ball back from McLean and fired in a cross which was bread & butter for Rooney. There is a player in Stewart, but going to take a little time to adapt to the sort of role he was playing today. Frank Ross looked impressive when he came on at the end and was very lucky not to score, his shot, which looked like it was in, hit the post and rolled along to the keeper. 3 of our own on the pitch at the end of the match, which was great to see. A really good day out at Pittodrie today with a large crowd and the sun shining, doesn't get much better than that, well it would have if Hibs could have held on to their lead. Long may this continue and hopefully we can keep a fairly consistent back four over the coming weeks. It was very sweet giving St Johnstone a doing today. Oh, I know we won, but the ref was as bad as I have seen, not sure which game he was at, but wasn't the one I was watching.

Going to be a tough game this Saturday, the saints always give us a hard game and Wright usually has them well organised against us. In Merkie 2-1 Arnason then May with a 92nd minute winner. COYR

YEs, 1-0. As the radio said, it wasn't pretty, but I think we need a few back to basic performances to try and figure out what our best line up is. Good to see McKenna take his chance, we need our own kids coming through, instead of getting shotties of other clubs.
