ANother good win for us today after a horror start. I am happy for us to grind out results whilst the new players get up to speed with how we play and try and bring their own skills into the team. COntrast that with the shyte being spouted about Hibs, first season back in the top league and already certain of a top 6 finish and potential to challenge near the top, and here was me thinking the league ran until next May. I do worry about us at the back though, not convinced we have a great central pairing, be good to see if we could try and sign someone better before the window shuts, but have a feeling our business is done.

Well that was tough going. A good win in the end though, but boy did we make hard work of it, not helped by some awful fouls on our players. I don't mind teams playing hard, but Hamilton took it to extemes today. I think Tansey will be a good addition to the team and looks a tidy enough player. Maynard I'm not too sure on. The first half he was awful IMO, but did see an improvement in the second half and has been posted he should have scored. Just have to hope he is building up his fitness! Arnason, wasn't too happy about him coming back as didn't like his attitude the first time he was here, especially the second half of the season and today he did nothing of note to prove he was worth taking a punt on and then Reynolds came on and did worse, thank fuck for Lewis or they would have equalised, early doors, but still a concern. Very happy to see Wright get a chance and he showed some decent play despite Hamilton players doing their best to get him stretchered off. I sit in the Merkland and the tackle on him on the first half by the baldy Hamilton player with the beard (Samaris?) was brutal and looked like it should have been a red. CHristie is an excellent player and I would like us to have him as our own, not going to be good facing the tims without him. McLean was utter gash today as bad as the ref. Game 1, three points and a clean sheet, cannot ask for more than that, but think we need a centre half.

ANother season beckons and hopefully another good one for AFC, I think it will be tougher for us, but we should have enough about us to keep us up near the top, even better if we can get another striker in. The last time we played Hamilton on the opening day of the season was 2010, the we beat them 4-1 and Hartley got a hat trick of penalties, that was about the highlight of that season. Whatever the result today we won't be as bad as we were back then. Back to this afternoon and I have no idea how we will line up for this one, would like to see Wright start, don't think there is anyone, on current form, any better than him at the moment, so would go for him and hopefully his youth will spur us on. I reckon a good 2-0 victory will do nicely to start things off. COYR

Hearts playing at the home of Scottish rugby, they way they play should fit right in there. -
I'll be in the minority of 1 who is happy that we are out of Europe. Far too big a distraction for such a small squad as ours with a manager who doesn't like to rotate his players. As for the suggestion above that the heat wouldn't have affected our players, that is just wrong. I came to work this morning it was dull and raining, the sort of conditions our players are used to, playing in that heat last night wouldn't have helped our cause any. We tried last night, but it just wasn't to be. We have to concentrate on the the domestic season now and see if we can go one step further than last season in any of the three trophies left to play for. COYR

I would have Mulgrew and Miller. I think Deek would have got them both playing consistently well. Rooney is certainly a better goalscorer but Miller was a clever player who would suit our current play well.

I don't think I have ever seen a manager look so out of his depth than Cathro. I suppose thon horse heided guy who was his assistant will be gone with him and Potter will be taking the reigns in the interim. -
When I saw thr thread appear at the top of the forum earlier I nearly shat myself thinking he was off, but very happy to read he has signed for three more years. Top goalie and comes across as a top bloke also. Probably the best signing we will make this summer.
-
You're making valid points DD, very valid and have a feeling that in the long run you will probably be proved correct on your stance. I would prefer we took players on loan from outside our league that way we are not helping our nearest rivals to profit in the long run.
-
I hear what your saying DD, but it's nae the lads fault, he just wants to play football and we probably cannot afford his wages, but he is willing to be here, so we just have to see how it all pans out. I was sceptical when we took him back in January, but he is a good player and should only get better, but the downside for me is that if he improves whilst with us he improves his transfer value meaning celtic get more money for him if they decide to sell leaving us to fill another hole in our squad. I would imagine they could call him back if required and totally screw us up at a difficult part of the season, not having him for Celtic matches isn't good either. As long as he is good enough and willing to play for us I will accept him, but would be more happier if we developed our own players instead of taking young lads from other clubs, especially our biggest competitors. On another note it was sickening seeing Jonny in pictures holding a Celtic top. I see he has gave the club money to ensure any fans who bouht the new AFC top with his name on it get a new strip/refund with all the Hayes branded ones given to thr Community trust. A good loon is Jonny, far too good to be signing for THEM!
-
I think I am glad he is staying, offers a bit of continuity for the coming season which will be a good test for him and hopefully we can get in a couple of decent signings, but I really want to see some of our young lads get more game time, an area where I have been critical of McInnes. Bring on the new season.

I see now it's the Cubans, Trump is after, rolling back the legislation which the Obama government granted them... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-40309598 SOmebody needs to get rid of this clown and fast.

Not often I get moved by what I see on the news, but what I saw on Wednesday morning when I switched on BBC breakfast was horrible, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I've been reading up on this and surprised that they allow gas into these blocks, I am sure in Scotland, or Aberdeen anyway, gas is not used in tower blocks which makes perfect sense to me. Seems to be a case of new gas pipes being fitted in communal areas and stairwells without being boxed in, nae doubt somebody will have something to do with that to save a quick buck. Hopefully the people of the area can keep up the pressure on this as usually folk from poorer areas get pity in these situations, but no justice. A nice bit on the BBC today comparing this unfortunate tower black with some palatial one built not too far from it, where 1 bedroom apartments cost upwards of £1 million, I bet the folk made homeless due to this will be happy to know this, but I suppose it highlights the sort of screwed up city London is, where money is everything and people are nothing. No doubt property developers will be eyeing up the site for 'tasteful' redevelopment already, complete with a remembrance garden where the survivors can go and pay respect to the people whilst watching rich people go and park their expensive cars in the underground car park of the new 'executive' development which will no doubt be built in it's place.

I thought the silence meant Deek was going nowhere I do hope he doesn't go though, a real basketcase of a club and forget that sleeping giant pish. A big club and a great support but one of many down in England. Anyway, I like Archibald at Thistle, really rate him, but losing Deek along with half the team needs an experience man to come in and do a job and for me it's Tommy Wright. I don't buy into the shyte posted on here when they beat us that they are a horrible footballing team, granted he signed Foster, but our current manager blotted his copybook with that one also, so wont hold it against him. I think he has done a superb job in Perth with a pretty low budget and done it consistency and always seems to replace good players reasonably well and gives youth a chance, something our next boss HAS to do, no matter how much of his $800 million fortune Dave Cormack wants to spunk on us. ALex Neal also would be a very good shout, but would he see this as a step back bearing in mind he has had EPL experience.

That's the guy who was hear a while ago as chief executive, or some other title, but didn't like the way Milne was running the club and was he not trying to oust him? If I remember well, he came across as a shrewd operator who knew Milne was bad for the club. I remember him speaking a lot of sense about the Scottish game in general at the time then he flew the nest. Did we not replace him with the Gordon Bennett guy who was partial to a prostitute or three? Hopefully he can bring some fresh ideas to the club and push us onward and upwards.

Strong and stable right enough. The interviewer will of course be a member of either the SNP or a Corbynista. The feckers are imploding and I hope they gypit cunts who voted for them up here have a right long look at themselves and feel ashamed of what they have done and rectify matters when we go back to the polls in a few months.
-
It must be something about living in abroad that gets people emotional about Scotland nowadays. Its not just Aberdonians who don't give a fuck about the national team, most other areas feel the same, blame the SFA and years of ineptitude in running our game for the lack of interest in it.

The seat was usually a two way fight between Conservative and Labour, I'm a Torry loon an dremember going around on my bike back in the day and shouting out 'Vote Labour' and getting paid in stickers, which when you are 8 or 9, back in the day, was ace, then getting a clip roon i lug fae my ma, who was always a Tory, no idea why as we didn't have two pennies to rub together, but she was a bit racist so could well of been that and thankfully I never followed her politics, but I reckon it was just getting back at her Dad who was a communist, good bloke as well my Granda, hated tories even though he come from money. A pal of my brothers and his wife voted tory after years of SNP, becasue they didn't want indy ref 2. I was left scratching my head at that one and told my brother to give him a bloody hard slap the next time he sees him. They would never vote Labour either as the pair o cunts hardly pay a bit of tax between them, but thats Kincorthers for you. I still cannot for the life of me understand why the tories did so well up here, they offer nothing to anyone bar the super rich. As for the pact with the DUP that will bite them on the ass big time.
-
Disappointed that the NE of Scotland has voted for THEM. Interesting to see what will happen with Labour. Corbyn did bloody well considering he was up against the right wing press and a lot of his own party. I did notice the attacks on him, from the Labour Party, stopped a little in the run up, but where do they go from here. I would like to see Corbyn keep going and try and rebuild the party. I think the SNP did well enough, they were never going to repeat 2015. Just so sad to see THEM get the support from Scotland which has handed, a power of sorts, to May, who really shouldn't be in a job after this fiascoof her own making.

Hibs will have an upturn due to their fans enjoying the competitive nature of the diddy leagues and gaining a promotion. I renewed ours on Monday and was told sales were down on last year, but still steady, be a shame if we went backwards after a seaon like the one just finished.
-
Are u sure he is a Tim? I worked we a bloke who is a neighbour, Balmeadie I think, and the two wives are very close due to having kids of the same age. Anyways, the guy is a dandy and says Jonny is a great guy, but has very little interest in football.
-
I reckon the tories will take 5-7 seats in Scotland and I also predict Labour to win back a few. Reckon the SNP will return less than 40, which would still be a hell of a result. I predicted, along with DOnsdaft, that the tories would get a majority in 2015, but my Scottish predictions that day were honking. I really would consider leaving the country if that tory cunts win by a huge majority, don't reckon they will though, I hope! People can't be that stupid...
-
Aye, You know they are going to use the recent terrorists attacks to take away rights once they increase their majority tomorrow. It is easy to use Human Rights as a scapegoat for lots of things, especially the current terrorist attacks and makes good reading for the UKIPpers who lap that sort of shite up, whilst ignoring the fact that severe cuts to the budgets the departments charged with looking after national security are really to blame. I don't think the tories will do as well as they first though when they called the election, I predict they will do in Scotland though, which is a sickening thought, but will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

A nice way to sign off from your Aberdeen career, even more so that he has not real ties to the City or club, which makes it all the more sweeter.
-
Wow, he has actually gone and done it, what a moron. His quotes about them stick in my throat also, how can it be an honour and privilege to play for a 5 year old club? A fresh challenge Ryan is NOT moving to either half of the Old Firm, it is about moving to a new league and testing yourself in a different enviroment. Fuck him and his new club.
