Aye. They are in the mire and need fixing from top to bottom by a manager who can work minor miracles on a relatively small budget, Ryan Giggs is exactly who they need.

It looks very likely we will lose Hayes, going by what is appearing in the press. What a blow that would be, one of my favourite players in the red jersey, ever. Love his commitment to the team, even when having an off game he can still do something special. Gets kicked a lot, but usually just gets back up again. We would miss him if he went I wouldn't like to see him in a Celtic top though, regardless of what they offered.
-
Losing Hayes and Lewis would be catastrophic for us, I really hope this doesn't happen. I get the feeling it's going to be a long summer for us reds.
-
A shame to hear about John Noakes passing. For those of us of a certain vintage, he was superb viewing on the telly back in a time when kids had around 2 hours TV a day.
-
I think Hayes fancied the chance himself, saw McLean, hesitated a second too long and made the pass which he did. I thought it was a McLean screw up, at first, but I cannot blame him, just one of them things. Hayes has done too much for us in the jersey to deserve any sort of stick, IMO and I am sure he feels bad himself.

Just watched the "highlights" on the BBC website, which hardly did the game justice at all, but anyway, what a poor goal to lose the game too. Nae sure Shay was at fault for the first, didn't think he expected the shot, think it was just good play by Armstrong. Johnnys goal was class, but his pass to McLean was poor. We also didn't get to see the incident with Stockley, still convinced there was no intent on his part, but only basing it on seeing Stockley facing me when it happened meaning he wouldn't have known the loon was behind him when he jumped.

Just seen the display from the game yesterday, boy it looked good, well done to those who gave up their time to plan it out. I think it deserved a one goal lead.

SO we got patted down today on the way into stadium in case we were carrying any explosives, don't agree with it, but not going to argue with it today, but then the wife just walks through as no female stewards to do the checking which is a bit of a flaw in their fight against terrorism, either that or terrorists are males only?!?
-
I really hope we don't go down this route, unless we develop a system where we partner him with someone with a bit of pace. I don't think I can remember us having a striker as slow and immobile as Stockley, maybe Zdrillic or D'Jaffo, but we don't want to go back to that days.

Just back and gutted is an understatement. The best tactical move today was for Celtic with our decision to sub McGinn for O'Connor, whcih backfired in my opinion and was no real surprise, we needed pace at that point and from then we just sat back and let them come at us, which we all know they thrive on. I have read that some thought we were on our arses after 70 minutes, but I suspect our tactics at this point had far more to do with it rather than the energy levels of our players, just my opinion though. I thought we played really well and gave them a game until the point McGinn came off, which didn't sadden me as he wasn't in the game much, but we really should have had PP or Wright on to offer us more pace and energy. We played well and had some good chances, but didn't take them and I hope McLean Hayes has nightmares for his miss pass in the second half for years to come where he managed to play the ball behind McLean, I know I will. The manager is going to have his work cut out during the summer trying to reshape this team/squad and hope that we don't see any major bids come in for Shinnie or Lewis, as losing these two will fuck us right up. A sickening way to lose a match, but we were architects of our own downfall at the end IMO. By the way, can Stockley actually run? He makes Rooney look like Usain Bolt and didn't like chasing the ball much. Edit: Had to change my statement on the McLean miss, as it was clear Hayes made a bad pass which went behind McLEan, didn't look like that from my seat, but will still give me nightmares. Fine margins and all that!

I am so excited I doubt I will sleep much tonight. I'm not too fussed how tomorrow goes, obviously I want us to win, but I just want us to play our own game and give it everything and not see the players leave the pitch at the end without turning up, like they did in the league cup final. Be very, very sweet to get it right up the manky bastards tomorrow to stop them getting a treble in the week they celebrated the 50th anniversary of winning the European Cup. COYR

I have a horrible feeling that spawny jute bastards are going to be back up next season.

Good to see Trump softening his stance on Islam whilst on his state visit to the most compassionate of Islamist countries, Saudi Arabia. Also good to see he will be signing deals which will provide American weapons to the Saudis which will bring peace to the area. You couldn't make this shit up.
-
I would, no problem. I would probably last about 10 seconds though as you know she would be a right dirty hoor.
-
I was supposed to be going, but couldn't make it. Anyway, I want us to win today, usually a day where all the fringe players get a game, but I cannot see Deek doing this today. 2-2 draw.

I honestly thought it was just shit stirring all the talk of him moving to the hun, but looks like it is happening. As a nation we will never progress unless our players learn that moving to either of the cheeks is not a step up in football terms, financially yes, but their careers should be about more than money, if they are good enough the money should take care of itself anyway. Unless their is a dramatic shift in his playing style I can see him ending up as liked at Ibrox as Ricky Fester, now that would be funny.

...and there was me bleating about nae giving a shite about last nights game! I was a mere 17 year auld loon when we last won in the Govan shithole and I really, really hope we don't leave it as long next time.
-
I'd go against the grain and play a team of kids against the fuckers just to highlight how unimportant the game is to us, as second place is ours. You never know it may even throw up a surprise result just like we did at PArkhead all those years ago. Never going to happen, but a nice thought. I think I am worried about their hammer throwers trying to injure some of out players out of spite.
-
I do quite like the look of Wright and Ross, but hard to tell how well they would get on if they don't get any meaningful game time. We got rid of Tangoman citing lack of youth development as one of the reasons and all these years later we still haven't really produced any real players of note and our development system appears to benefit the lower leagues more than it does us. I don't know what the issue is, but it is something which does worry me as a club with our meagre resources should be ensuring every penny we get is spent wisely, but youth development just appears to be a waste of time, effort and money at the money. Like you state in your post Rico, the youth system should be giving the manager options to dwell on instead of basically making up numbers on the bench.

TYpical theiving weegie minks with the ball towards the end. Logan is ace, a superb attitude and a player I really like having in our team.

ALthough I couldn't vote Labour, only on the independance issue though, I honestly think he is the best leader of any party by far. I thought his speech yesterday which he talked about the use of nuclear weapons was superb. Somtimes force is required to resolved in conflicts, but only as a very last resport and no government should have a gung-ho attitude to war. SO he isn't polished and well versed in spin, but when he speaks to an audience he is at his best. You could probably say he is a tad too honest for the job, but come autumn they will have a new Blair protegy from somewhere to lead them back in the direction of the tories and capturing the votes of the "Proud and patriotic working class people". FUck that made me want to puke when I heard May spout that yesterday. I just hope that the size of the defeat isn't too damaging for him as he deserves more than that. Just like Foot, I am sure history will show him to be a far better leader than given credit for. I think the Labour manifesto is great and is aimed at helping the many instead of the veiw and would happily vote for it. I thought wee Jimmy Krankie had some balls to state that Labour nicked their ideas. The SNP would never dream of renationalising anything. I remember when they were not a party of power and were going to renationalise the buses, until along came Soapy Souter with a £500k donation to the party and before you know the policy was dropped! I vote for the SNP, but sometimes it is with a very heavy heart I do it.

Well after the shock of the opening 10 minutes, which I will not comment on as enough has been said already, I actually quite enjoyed that and thought we played very well. I actually believe we were the better team after the opening 12 minutes and should have scored more, but we need to be more clinical in front of goal and stop dithering trying to make that extra pass which is just not required. Strange though it seems and although I thought Stockley played well enough I though Rooney may have suited the game after we started having a go at them, as we created chances in the box just nobody in the right place. Stockley also appears to be a marked man now, refs give him nothing. PLayer wise, SHinnie was my MOTM, his sheer drive and determination are exemplary and we need many more like him to make us a real force. I thought O'Connor done well in the middle and covered a lot back in defence in the second half also. Johnny scored a peach of a goal and fought like fuck for the cause, even Niall played well enough against them and that is something I have not said about him previously in these games. McLean was very wasteful at time and probably should have scored, if we could just add more goals to his game it would be a bonus, why does he always seems to slip on the pitch? I know the pitch isn't good but he seems to suffer more than most?? The introduction of the two young lads was McInnes at his worst. SOrry, but these lads will have taken nothing from their brief introductions and highlights, for me, the major blemish on his record. I thought the ref was poor, you don't expect much when you play these cunts, but I am of the opinion they do get a huge helping hand from our officials and have the audacity to complain whenever something never goes their way. SHinnie got a back challenge on him near the end of the game and their player feigned injury and got away with what I believe should have been a booking. WOuldn't have been so bad, but he was not the only one guilty of that last night in a hooped jersey. What I learned from the night was... They are very much beatable, but we have to play like we did after the opening 12 minutes to stand a chance in the final. Our defence is a huge concern though. Did they guy at half time say we still had 9000 tickets to sell for the final or was I hearing things? The tannoy at the Merkland end sometimes isn't the greatest. We really need a new defence pairing in the summer badly. The boy Roberts who plays for Celtic on loan looks very much like a weegie tink. I really hate Celtic Football Club with a passion and their fans. As my 10 year old said, they don't sing much when they are being outplayed.

My first final and I loved it, even though the game was fairly shite, but when Brian Irvine stuck away his pen. Happy days I'd fancy the 1990 team to easily take the current Celtic team in a game.
-
In Home (or straight fae work) Merkie Home 2-1 the Reds McLean and a last minute Ash Taylor header from a corner. Should be a good crowd given the demand for tickets for the final. It would be very sweet to see some team derail their unbeaten tag and who better than us.

I think the cup game will take care of itself regardless of what happens this coming Friday. We just need to hope that we turn up for this final. I'd quite happily take a defeat on Friday for a cup win in two weeks time.
