I thought Gurr put in some really good crosses under pressure. Logan of any season with us wouldn't have put in that second half defensive performance though. He was very lucky to still be on the park and should have been hooked immediately after bringing down Berra. I'd rather see McRorie used as backup for Ramsay. Whilst I sort of agree with your point about folk writing him off, it does stand to reason that if he can't displace Hernandez then he should be deemed not good enough for the dons. That does raise very legitimate concerns. However, I was far more comfortable when we signed him after he was released by Atlanta, which suggested* that there was no deal between us and our dodgy parent club. I'd like to see him a few more times before I pass judgement, he seemed to panic a little after his yellow and never really settled. As a backup, he could prove useful. My first impressions are not, but I'm not as convinced of that as I was Hernandez. *I say suggested, as I don't fully know. In theory there may have been a gardening leave style arrangement where they were paying him until he found a club or something.

I totally disagree, and I think the commentators got it completely wrong too. The ball is swerving and Lewis can see that his defensive line his far closer to him than the attack. The safest option was always to do exactly what he did, which is parry towards his fullback who can easily deal with it (if unsure, he has an easy header behind for a corner. The idiot red TV commentator even suggested he should have caught it, which shows that he hasn't touched a modern fitba in the last twenty years, and definitely not tried to catch one with a bit of swerve on it. Lewis got two solid hands on it and parried it sideways towards his defender, there was no option to parry it around the post and with the swerve parrying it downward to pick up at the second attempt would have been risky. It was his best option for dealing with that, and it's difficult to understate just how poor Gurr dealt with it.

That would be an interesting development. Bought by Atlanta and loaned straight back to the dandies. About 90% of me would hate to see such a move, with around 10% finding it incredibly funny.

Hibs reject a £500k offer from the dons for uber-dandy Boyle. Would be a decent steal.
-
Aye, that's tragic. He struggled towards the end of last season but was otherwise good. He must be looking at Devlin and wondering how he's managed to stay so fit all these years.

Pretty much what Panda said. A frustrating game. By the time we started taking it seriously, it was too late. I have to say, I'm not remotely a fan of the three subs at once pish, it's desperate stuff. I think Glass thought he could hold off on the subs thinking we'd get a goal but then left it late and played all his cards at once. Our midfield was all over the shop two minutes later when they scored. Gurr should have been taken off when he took out Berra, he was incredibly poor for the goal, but perhaps he was wary of his yellow. I think Glass probably got it wrong overall today, I don't think our depth of squad is as good as he gives credit. Hayes injury was worrying, think Hedges looked minor. We're paper thin though, and especially in attack.
-
Aye, Gurr been particularly good at getting the ball in under pressure. McGinn looking decent. We're possibly a bit over-crowded in there at times and then everyone pulls out at once. There's something not quite right about the setup but can't put my finger on it. Awesome goal by jet like, probably the only player who could do that, but he's a tad frustrating at times!

I like playing the "lesser" teams. If we'd have won the cup we'd have been playing some Turkish no marks like the Perth giants. We are where we are, and if we were good enough to be playing the big guns, then it means we'd have sold out spectacularly somewhere down the line. Your point is like arguing that we shouldn't be playing against Livingston, instead playing against the Tims every week.
-
It's a strange one like, if he's saying that McInnes didn't play him properly, then I'm struggling to see what his position is? McInnes played him in both holding midfield and as the midfielder asked to go forward a bit. Given he was signed as a central midfielder that seems reasonable! I actually think that Glass has shoe horned him into a spurious sort of wide role, coming inside to take the ball and providing cover in front of the fullback. It's a position that shouldn't really exist and if it does, you'd normally expect someone like Hayes or Hedges to play it. It's weird though, it does seem to provide a sort of balance to the team in the same way as having Considine at fullback with a young Logan tank up the other wing did for a bit. He seemed to play more central last night, but are we really suggesting he's our new number ten? He was great last night - definitely his best performance this season - but there's still the massive shite at shooting elephant in the room which has me wondering what's best. I'd say give him a five year extension and move him in with Alan Russell. I expect Maloney to be at our next match keeping tabs on him. At 29, though, I don't see us getting money for him or him improving to the point he will be too difficult to replace.
-
Just back, good game. Well done to Glass, fantastic changes, and quite high risk. McInnes would have left us with a 1 goal lead on aggregate late into that game. We gambled on us being able to score more than them and we were still trying to add to the lead in the last minute instead of the wanky in the corner pish. McRorie man of the match for me tonight, solid throughout, great going forward and seamlessly transitioned between the back three and four. Close second for Ojo who was brilliant when he came on - his best game by far in a dons top. Hedges was frustrating at times tonight but a great return and cracking finish for the second. The goal for them was poor. McKenzie was badly positioned in the first instance and not sure where the midfield was. Those are the risks playing the way we did, but as long as we score a couple then it's all good. We were never losing that game. Roll on the Asians in the next round.

I agree with the sentiment. However, if we get further into the tournament (beyond the next round) then this - to me - looks like a trial run of the price we'll be expected to pay. With potentially "big" opponents in the group stages, I'm guessing people will stump up the cash. They'll massively reduce the traditionally low attendance matches in the early cup rounds to pretend that they're listening to the customer.
-
I can understand that they will have calculated what price they think will get them the best return, but it just doesn't look good. It'll leave a bad taste in people's mouths and if things go wrong on the pitch, the bitterness will take over. It's just very poor value. It's not right.
-
~12K attendance is huge at that price. Does suggest we'd have got a properly big crowd at a lower price. It's terrible PR. The fans are not responsible for covid and with the loans and player sales, we shouldn't be struggling.
-
No he didn't. He was clearly not good enough to play in McInnes' system, he didn't cover the distance of Jack, Shinnie, McLean or even David Murray. That was blatant in his final season at Inverness. It was as ludicrous a signing as Main.
-
Yes I do, it's very good. Quite an easy read, and interesting. Not much not to like!
-
If you've accidentally purchased Born to Run by Christopher McDougall instead, then I can highly recommend it too. You won't look at yer shoes the same again.

Watched it again, my apologies there is a steward, it's just that he appears to open the gate for them! To be fair, they appear to have spilled out from the corner area first (or at the same time), so maybe saw that and just let them go at it. It does look like it would be a fairly easy thing to prevent happening though, hopefully they'll get some warning. I disagree with Glass that it's pent up 18 months or some balls. That's the sort of shite you here from the British media when watching the Olympics, as if we're the only country (city in our case) to have experienced the pandemic. I think we were slightly out of order, but it's a fairly minor thing that shouldn't get blown out of proportion.
-
It's extremely unlikely that a player would get covid from that situation, but it's not a great look either. It would have taken the presence of probably two stewards to prevent that from happening however, even one. You don't even need heavy handedness, just literally a person standing at the gate (with the gate closed) would be enough for the first couple of people to pause and the moment would be gone. Once the first couple run through the open passage, the rest follow. I've no problem with the dons being fined - they should be - but Livingston should have a series of recommendations on their desk this week to prevent it happening again.
-
I don't, think he's had a good season so far and we'd really struggle to replace. His hoose is for sale though, so you never know.
-
Very solid at the back in that half, Gallagher strolled it and McRorie looked very good as part of a three (think that's his position). Brown was excellent alongside McGeouch. McLennan won actual headers and shit and despite his customary sitter, Ojo had a good game. Decent result.
-
He's been good. Ramsay off, thank christ, need him for the home leg.

Ferguson off? Random.
