  1. There is only one player in quarantine.
  2. Aye, good performance. Few too many errors in the midfield but some good performances nevertheless. Terrible decision by the ref, really bad. Although the freekick against McKenna a few minutes earlier given by the linesman was even worse. Got to be blocking the whole goal with the wall against players like that.
  3. Aye, decent game. Hectic stuff for the first 30 minutes. Lovely goal and unlucky not to add a second too. Tierney some player like. England will need all their right backs against him and Robertson.
  4. Think McKenna will need a move if he's going to get a game. With both Hanley and cooper playing at a higher level than him, he needs to get into the premier League before he'll be first pick again. I think he's good enough to get there, next year will be a big one for him.
  5. It would be incredibly surprising actually.
  6. Aye, the Czechs have been exemplary in their handling of covid infections in the national side.
  7. It's tactics. Just getting the vid out the way early. Other teams will be floundering around during the tournament with players missing and squads wrecked.
  8. Wright was shaping up to be just that and the fact that McInnes couldn't see it (or wanted to be absolutely certain) and didn't hand him a three year deal pre season was a huge part of his demise in my opinion.
  9. McGinn gets another year. Makes sense to me. The notion that our recruitment is going to be good enough to get 5 or 6 players better than McGinn is silly. A very good squad player to have.
  10. Phenomenal series. Best thing in TV this year that I can think of.
  11. To be honest, I don't really know, I'm basing my argument on the fact that every decision made by uefa in the last thirty years is designed to widen the gap and maintain the status quo throughout Europe! As I mentioned, the article seems to have made little attempt to work out who benefits. It was fairly inconclusive and not particularly well argued. Your example doesn't really address much, we could just as easily give an example that helps AFC. The point of the away goal however would have potentially stopped the dons from playing for a boring 0-0 draw away from home rather than trying to sneak a goal knowing the reward. I'm not saying you're wrong, obviously, just that the article and subsequent examples don't really get to the heart of the issue.
  12. It doesn't really address the issues raised in this thread though, nor does it actually offer any useful statistics to help. It focuses on the lack of difference between big club X travelling to big club Y rather than someone playing in Lithuania or Azerbaijan where the differences might still be significant.
  13. Drink helped me forget that game. Or at least made lots of it difficult to see.
  14. Aye, pathetic. Although, fuck skonta Riga.
  15. Wasn't Celtic minded enough I assume.
  16. That's not how I remember it. I thought it was several exchanges with different people using his work email. Could be wrong. For me, it's a bit like the Brown situation, you show contrition, address it head on and apologise. Mackay never really did much other than address the fact that he was caught. I like the idea of forgiveness, and much as I'd absolutely forgive Brown, I'd do the same for Mackay if I was a county fan. However that option isn't really there if the club just try and hide and wait for it to go away which is the approach County and AFC took. It's all a bit pathetic really, I doubt it'll ever be worth the hassle for County.
  17. That doesn't really work if the boy is pish at fitba though. I think your reasoning is why we've got Brown coming in, and I'd be seriously concerned that move backfires if - as expected - Brown continues his downward trend. Maybe the guy is a decent footballer though. He'll likely have seen both him and Hernandez in action to pass judgement. We'll see how good that judgement is.
  18. Thing is, with the volume of departures, we'll absolutely need squad fillers and even if we don't need them, the nature of recruitment means we'll definitely end up with them. There's zero chance that we're making 10 successful signings this summer. Given the level of player remaining in contract (Kennedy, McLennan, McGeouch) we have to be getting 4-5 good signings in. The margins are very fine.
  19. Christian Ramirez being linked in the Twatter realms. Don't know anything about him.
  20. Yep, it's a kick in the teeth for him like. He's playing regularly enough that a call up is warranted, especially with some of the Huns in there who've barely made an appearance and the ICT players playing at a lower level.
  21. Absolutely, the worry is that - like happened with McInnes - Glass is involved in the recruitment process, or gets a guy in that he knows rather than the club. It's completely unfair on Glass really, the club should have been ready for him when he joined. Cormack was keen to talk about succession planning on numerous occasions, but this shows a real lack of planning. The change to the director of football and head of recruitment could have happened months ago.
  22. I've been saying it for years now and I'm surprised that Cormack has taken so long to act. It's something that should be controlled by the club and not the manager, so something we could have dealt with whilst McInnes was here. We were continually making errors in the transfer market with a fairly low percentage of successful conversions, and those parameters should have been set the minute Cormack came in. It would have actually helped McInnes. At the very least when the decision was made to only go for loanees in January they should have acted then.
  23. Recruiting a new head of recruitment. Seems like something that could have been done several months before our most important window in years.
