  1. Racist
  2. He is correct, and it's quite right too, a person having a sex change should not get sacked. I get the analogy, but it's probably a false equivalence. Your situation is more like a person not speaking in the correct accent (being too colloquial). It's about class, rather than race or gender. It's deemed inappropriate, or unprofessional, to have a tattoo. These terms are bandied about by dickheads with zero moral compass, zero empathy and zero self respect. The type that carries out a boss's orders without question, even though they know it's wrong. Professionalism is an utterly nebulous concept, which could be more appropriately described as doing as your told - or conforming. It usually makes for a fucking incompetent employee or manager. You should write to them to complain. Ask for them to explain the causation of impoliteness, lack of empathy, lack of diligence, tardiness, work-shyness with neck tattoos. In fact, if I were you, I'd write directly to CEO andy.cliffe@agsairports.co.uk asking him to explain his class-based discrimination.
  3. Was your tattoo in the shape of a penis?
  4. Take them to court. Bigots. Absolutely ridiculous in the 21st century.
  5. Forgot to mention, Palaversa was very good when he came on yesterday. Had Milne not been struggling, him and Shinnie might have gone on to win that for us from midfield, as they were starting to get hold of it. As it was, Shinnie went to left back again.
  6. We played Duk up front as number nine, which is a legitimate use of him, although he wasn't very good there. When Vinnie got injured, he moved up front and Duk wide because he couldn't run. Anyway, we were very poor. Didn't create much at all and didn't use the ball well. They played well, and are definitely better than they were under Levein. Very few pass marks today, but conditions were difficult. As others have said, McGrath, McGarry, Nilsen and Nisbet were all poor. McGrath especially, and I don't think it was because Clarkson was in the team, he was just second to every ball and his decision making was terrible. I was going to make a comment about McGarry prior to today's game after his okay performances in the last two, but I forgot. It was that he was (in those games) good at doing the easy things such as taking the ball and moving it on, but that he shirks the difficult parts like taking an opponent on, or going beyond the winger. That really showed up today against an opponent we should be beating. He offered nothing to advance our game. It's why you can forgive Mackenzie and Devlin for any defensive errors, because you know that they do the things where they might get caught out, and aren't afraid of taking responsibility for their mistakes. Of course, McGarry is likely extremely low on confidence, but he's never going to be good enough. Clarkson got pass marks today as did Molloy. Doohan was okay, but doesn't offer anything in terms of building moves and taking the ball from the defenders. A couple of injuries has been the difference really.
  7. Lovely night. Perfect conditions. We played well and were unlucky in the end not to get a point. They just had a little bit more quality. When you give up that amount of possession, it only takes one error, and unfortunately Devlin - who had been brilliant up against maeda - had his eye on the man instead of the line. I do think that if it had been Rubi and not Molloy, he'd have dived in to block the shot (or give away a pen!), but Molloy was very good again so it's not a criticism. Nilsen and Shinnie were really good in the middle, and the team was very well organised overall. Doohan and McGarry did well. McGarry could probably have cleared before the goal, he was letting a lot come down that side, but he should have been off 5-10 minutes earlier as he'd put in a shift and was visibly struggling (as was Devlin, but he's played ninety minutes every week and is used to it). Good to see Polvara back, he's going to be an asset in the coming weeks. Hopefully back to winning ways at the weekend.
  8. Nisbet to stretch them with his constant running? Not sure JT has got to grips with the best combination in that front three. I think Keskinen and Nisbet probably work together better than Keskinen and Sokler, but equally Nisbet would probably benefit most from Morris' crossing.
  9. Lovely night for it. Nothing better than watching your team get a doin whilst getting battered by the wind and rain*. I'm going for a 2-2 draw, with Doohan making amends for two absolute fuck ups, by heading in a 97th minute equaliser, after a Devlin screamer to pull one back in the 93rd. *Obviously, I will be sheltered and comfortable on my leather seat in the posh section
  10. Surely he's not worse than Doohan? He got great reviews when at Huntly, and he's currently Bonnyrigg's first choice. Would Doohan get a game at that level? Goalie is such a leveller in this league. It's really difficult to get two good keepers, there are only two teams that can afford that. The only way there isn't significant drop off is if you have a really good young goalie coming through that maybe isn't quite ready for the first team. Otherwise you're stuck with merry-go-round jobbers. Of course there are teams (Hibs) for whom both keepers are pish. Perhaps that's easier to deal with in a way! Hearts have two fairly decent ones, but that's because Gordon is a fan, and came through the ranks. That's quite unusual. Doohan is going to lose us points (arguably has already, flappy cunt!). I think his shot stopping is half decent, but he doesn't come for crosses and, the biggest problem, he doesn't build the play from the back the way Mitov does. It's a bit of a disaster to be honest.
  11. oxymoron /ˌɒksɪˈmɔːrɒn/ noun noun: oxymoron; plural noun: oxymorons a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction (e.g. faith unfaithful kept him falsely true ). "that fashionable rhetorical novelty, the humblebrag, is itself an oxymoron"
  12. I think so too, but it's difficult to keep both in the team for every game, with midweek fixtures. It was also noticeable that Shinnie coming on alongside a tiring Nilsen didn't really help matters either. For me, Palaversa should really be the one coming off the bench if we're trying to rest either of the other two (rather than starting Palaversa I mean). Palaversa is a young player learning still, and I think he'll be a good one to sign long term. I'm really keen to see if Polvara can bring some of the form he showed at the end of last season, or if that was just a product of playing meaningless end of season bottom six fixtures. In season's past, we could have happily experimented with both Palaversa and Polvara by giving them minutes in the number ten role, upfield a bit where they could have less pressure on them and utilise their good passing, but we have numerous players looking to play there. A lot has been said about Thelin's ability to turn crap players into good ones, but actually it's really only Morris we're seeing with any real consistency. The rest have been carried along by a good team, with guys like Devlin, MacKenzie and Shinnie benefitting from being played to their strengths. I think it'll become a little more clear in the next few games where we are, but I suspect we'll likely find out that guys on the periphery, who will be asked to play a larger role, are improved, but still not good enough. That includes MacDonald, McGarry, Besuijen, Ambrose, Palaversa (to a lesser degree), Milne, Sokler etc, who we could happily have one or two playing parts here and there, but not a few of them in whole games between them (e.g. McGarry replaced by Milne). I mentioned several times that we needed to see guys out the door in the summer, and we didn't really get that. I think we need a bit of a tidy up with some of the aforementioned.
  13. Both. He played well for a guy that hasn't played all season, but because he hasn't played all season was shaky! He's not great defensively, so that was already a given. He was very shaky on the ball, which is the bit we expect him to be okay at, but settled after the first half of the first half and was fine from there. Basically, his default is shaky (also known as pish), so anything better is okay.
  14. Defence was fine, McGarry played well for a guy who hasn't played all season. Wouldn't want him against the Tims, as he was shaky defensively, but he wasn't bad. Struggled to get past his man, but used the ball well for the most part. He was better than Milne was when he came on, but I expect a lot of that is due to him being on his wrong side. Overall, it was a reasonable point. We are hitting a wall, I think, in terms of the squad. We looked tired, and the fresh legs didn't feel particularly fresh. It's the first time I felt that Thelin didn't quite get the changes right. He was slow to change it, and the sporadic changes just seemed to interrupt the flow of the game rather than being freshness. Given they were the better side at times, that might have been deliberate. Mitov was a big loss in that second. He's loud and commanding (even when he's not playing well or coming for things he shouldn't). Players are confident in passing it back to him, and we didn't have that at all with Doohan. I can see the niggling little injuries starting to happen as we move into winter, and I think we'll struggle. Would have been good to see Polvara get on today.
  15. Yasss. Clarkson. Great finish. Shady Mo again
  16. Hearts lads dropping like flies. Delayed reaction to @BigAl's wish for them to suffer career ending injuries.
  17. I totally didn't notice the McGarry inclusion. Jesus.
  18. Wild. No Rubi or Shinnie. That's a fair chunk of aggression missing. MacDonald probably deserves a chance, and I'm glad that he'll at least be able to play on his right side for once. Palaversa been poor of late, so interesting to see how he gets on. Polvara on the bench again, good to see.
  19. Low head IMO
  20. I'd start with the team that started the second half against the other Edinburgh cheek.
  21. Getting a bit woke in your old age?
  22. Yep, that was the mistake I meant. As you say, it's those balls down the middle that should be bread and butter for Rubi. It's a concentration thing in my opinion, which is probably quite difficult to teach. It just takes switching off for a second for it to cause problems and he gets his timing wrong. It's probably why a lot of defenders improve with age, as their focus improves. I like the fact that we're bringing through two young defenders, and I'd be reluctant for us to break up that partnership, but it certainly comes with drawbacks.
  23. Aye, there was really only one defensive arse up for the goals last night, and that was down to switching off at the last. You could tell Shinnie was annoyed with himself for giving away the freekick, but 99 times out of 100 he'd get away with that. There was one corner when Bushiri got a free header, but we otherwise defended them quite well. I have an intuitive dislike of zonal marking too, but I'm sure that they've run the numbers on it and found some benefit. I'm wondering if it's changed since VAR? Were teams concerned about giving away penalties through grappling and shirt pulling in the box? Is it because teams spend way more time organising corner routines with players blocking and hiding behind one another making it difficult to pick up men? Either way, there's nothing difficult about zonal marking. All areas should be covered, and if there's a big hole it's because someone somewhere in the chain has left their zone. I guess it's just as likely that someone will leave their zone empty in zonal, as it is that someone loses their man when marking. It could be argued that the instructions never change in zonal, and so there shouldn't be the confusion of picking up the wrong player. I'd be interested to see if we give away a lot more corners than others? We seem happy to let a lot of balls come in from wide rather than go to the man, so perhaps we give away more corners and inevitably lose more goals from them. Perhaps someone from the BBC can provide an analysis?
  24. What a goal from Sokler though. A draw a fair result.
  25. Devlin. Legend. Some finish.
