  1. ^^^This. He's very similar to Rooney too. If we'd signed him in January, I wouldn't have complained, but I think that now we've got some time to scout players I'd prefer we went a bit wider with the search. I've always thought that, like Rooney, he lacks that extra yard of pace that would give us something a little extra. Whilst he was good at St Johnstone, I always thought that was him at his peak. He worked extremely hard to get to where he was then, but it didn't look like there was much room left for improvement. He didn't strike me as being as good as Scott MacDonald in his early Motherwell days, Naismith for Killie as examples. Players who were good at the time but you could tell had a long way to go in terms of their overall abilities. Much like Theresa, I think we reached peak-May a number of years ago. However, I think if we bought him he'd come here and score lots of goals like Rooney. If we are signing him, I hope we go for someone else too to give us a different dimension, like Moult at Motherwell. Someone that has potential too.
  2. It's been good so far like. It's a good view of how religious texts can be warped, regardless of religion, to fit a particular narrative. Folks have a go at the Muslims for the writings of their book, but the bible is a pretty fucked up specimen in many areas and can equally be used (and is) to justify some pretty horrendous things. Definitely worth watching though.
  3. Just a higher class of coverage, with a lot of interviewees telling it as is. Actually delving into the issues and discussing them. Even the Tory councillor lady that was on dealt with the facts of the matter and wasn't afraid to question her own party's dealing with the situation. I watched BBC last night and it was like a competition to see how long (and how many times) they could prolong a close up on a grieving relative's face. I couldn't watch it tonight, as I suspected it was just be Nicholas Witchell (or is it Peter Hunt these days) lying beneath the queen as she shat a fiery turd into his smiling coupon.
  4. A sensible decision. He's a shrewd chap is McInnes. By going for the talks and then staying, he raises his own profile significantly (with us) and also gives potential signings comfort in the security of the club and the ambitions of both club and manager. I enjoyed the interviews with Cormack this week too. I suspect he was a big influence. I like his shite about holistic club and so forth. In my opinion, we weren't in a comfortable position for a successor had McInnes left. I have confidence that Cormack will help design an entire structure, building on what Deek has already done, to ensure that we move seamlessly to the next appointment when McInnes does eventually move on.
  5. I concur.
  6. I just arranged a public grief-session in my village, before lighting 17 candles for the dead and let off some chinese lanterns to symbolise those still missing. At almost 20 years since Diana, when will these tragedies stop?
  7. Nae really, we just buy them. Get McInnes to do the talks afore he leaves. Any manager that knows the SPL would love to have those two in their squad.
  8. A chap on channel 4 nailed it when he said that they had only cladded the building in the first place to make it more pleasing to the eye of those who live in the nicer parts, and now that the cosmetic upgrade has caused it to be burned down, it'll just be replaced by expensive private flats. The irony being, that if they then went on fire, nae cunt would be living in them anyway as they've all been sold to foreign billionaires.
  9. It's cooncil owned.
  10. Correct. It isn't worse. This is much worse than a terrorist attack. It's so easy for the government to go through the macho "end human rights" bullshit routine every time some muslim decides to murder some folks because they've got their scapegoat. Yet the one area that they can simply regulate, produce laws for, they are ideologically opposed to doing. Because of money. The worst thing about it that most Tory voters (especially those in NE) don't realise that that's what they are voting for. It's a choice whether you give a shite or not.
  11. Fucking horrendous like. Dispensable people, whose repeated concerns surrounding fire safety were ignored. Be interesting to see if the flat gets re-built, or will they take the opportunity to move poor people out of the area? How can it happen in London in the 21st century?
  12. Horrible news in London today, really sad. Tim Farron has quit as Lib Dem leader.
  13. Nae an insult, just something I thought you wid hate. I pictured you screaming "fucking virtual fuckin fitba" at yer screen.
  14. Adams is a weirdo. Not sure the players will like him. I'd expect better than him. Agreed that we need someone who understands our current playing style and can adopt this but improve on things like substitutions and squad rotation. McInnes was good, but wasn't without his faults. Hopefully we have the backroom staff in place that can talk any new manager through the existing setup and highlight some of the areas for improvement. We don't need wholesale changes like we did when Deek arrived, we just need to build on what's there as well as get a few more players through the door. We need to take a leaf out of the book of St Johnstone or the Tims who don't seem to generally experience a massive raft of changes as they move from manager to manager. Let's get someone that fits our fitba strategy and not the other way round.
  15. Good article in the chick-pea snorting, sheepskin wearing lefty wank-rag today regarding the rise of online gaming in fitba. One I expect Donsdaft will be fully subscribed to. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/14/hashtag-united-virtual-gamers-striking-rich-sport-2-0
  16. Welcome aboard, I'm Rico, I like to be a dick about the slightest thing.
  17. When he suggested you were pished, I assumed he was talking about your ability to ignore the two threads already on this subject and your decision to create a new one.
  18. I just made a veggie version and it was pretty fine like. Replaced most of the ingredients in the recipe like, but I did put it in the oven for an hour as you suggested.
  19. Listening to the Sunderland reporter dude on BBC on the way home, it sounds like Sunderland are fucked. Not quite sure what McInnes is thinking if he joins them. They're expecting 25-30M for their 'keeper but none of it being made available to the manager. Sounds like he's on a hiding to nothing there. If he does go though, fit's the chances he'll take Lewis now that they've ditched their goalie?
  20. So we should re-appoint McGhee?
  21. Good stuff. I'd take Black then. Intelligent guy, good experience.
  22. Yep, that was my impression too, but I seem to remember others thinking - and perhaps it was surrounding his (lack of) support for Cummings - that he could/should have challenged Milne for chairmanship of the club. I suspect that that was never his intention and not really something for others to judge him on.
  23. "Other" is doing exceptionally well in the vote. I'm not really sure what he brings to the table if I'm honest.
