^^^This. The biggest problem I have with McInnes leaving is the lack of strategic football planning, certainly pre-McInnes. McInnes appointments make up the vast majority of our key positions. There is a strong chance that many of those will move on if McInnes does. We've consistently had huge overhauls each time a manager leave, from youth team development to goalkeeping coach and so on. Whilst, I think Rocket was referring to our next manager, I think that the continuity of backroom staff is similarly key. It's generally accepted that when a manager moves often the coaches will too, but in AFC's experience it has been significantly more than that. We need to develop a situation where the backroom staff are pretty much nailed down (obviously a new manager can overrule if he can't work with an individual or feels there are better options, or indeed a whole new position is required) and I don't believe we have that. I would expect a good bit of turmoil in the club if McInnes left. Whatever anyone thinks of McInnes' managerial skills, he has certainly picked a professional backroom staff who appear to be performing well (Kirk, the stats guy etc). It seems like the club has relied on McInnes to provide those things rather than the club understanding the need for these positions and making appointments prior to the manager coming in. The new manager, if McInnes does leave (I don't believe the resignation story), should be a seamless appointment with most of the staffing infrastructure in place with the option to change a couple where necessary. If he turns out to be a shite manager then we simply move onto the next with little fuss. I don't believe we have the strategic fitba planning sorted, and I think McInnes leaving will cause a huge mess as he cherry picks our best staff too.

Really? Played 11 games this season for Rotherham, and didn't even make the bench recently. Not sure his 6 months of being the media favourite warrants the hype. His career has largely been a disaster.

Nit. Look at the last video put up by Jess. That pass should have been dead on the 6 yard line, that's where Rooney would have run and so would every other good striker. You want to just stick your foot out and prod it goalward with as little to do as possible. Not have to control it and be faced with an on-rushing 'keeper. McLean should have been in a position where he had nothing to think about other than connecting with the ball. There's a gap of about 1 metre past Brown's foot when he's at full stretch, there was heaps of room to pass that into. He's almost played it square. If it had been 7-8 yards out (that'd be the tolerance here), McLean would still have been able to adjust his feet and get a shot away, but it was near on 10 yards out. That would have meant him stopping completely and probably having to take a touch. I'm nae having it, a square ball with that much room to play it wasn't right.

I'd say your picture and video there says it all. About 1 metre between the ball and Brown's foot with the pass from his left foot obviously bending towards - or into - the six yard box. Hayes hits it almost directly square. Still McLean nearly gets there. Any striker would tell you that the six yard line was where to hit it in that case, it gives them the minimum opportunity to fuck it up, they just have to direct it goal-ward. Just to clarify, I'm not having a go at Hayes here, he'd made a hell of an interception and run and was just unlucky. Just think yer assertion about McLean is entirely wrong and by the way you stated your case sounded more like a hatred of player rather than an objective view of the incident.

Bollocks. Your images above miss the key moment. The first shows McLean when he receives the ball, your second shows a jumpy image when he was square and then when the ball reached (behind) him. Show the video in real time and you can see there was a gap for the pass. Hayes does hesitate as TheDeeDon says. It's just a slight misunderstanding between two players who've run the length of the park to get on the end of something. Your nonsense about McLean doesn't stand up to even simple scrutiny. He had two or three attempts on goal, coming to meet at least two corners with his head. Neither of which he hid from, clearly, or else he wouldn't have got the attempts away. You can accuse McLean of lots of things (being a fanny in the tackle perhaps), but he never hides. He's constantly shouting for the ball and making himself available. If anything, he has too many attempts on goal too.

Aye, it'll be classed as part of the deal for Hayes I expect, so almost a swap. I wouldn't take less than £1.5M for Hayes to those cunts though. I'd also be pushing back as much as possible on any Christie add-ons. They're getting shot of a player that they don't give game time too, they can get fucked if they think they can short change us. Horseshite. Look at it again on the BBC highlights, particularly the second replay. There's a massive gap for Hayes to play into, and he blatantly plays it behind McLean. At the game, I thought McLean had run too far, but there's at least 1 metre or more of a gap to play it round the defender, and a good couple of metres in front of McLean to aim for. It's a poor pass. Your comment shows that you clearly just don't like the player. McLean had several headers on goal and was always looking for the ball as he has done for the entire second half of the season. The evidence doesn't back your nonsense about him hiding. That said, he should have been off around 70 minutes as he was clearly knackered.
