Rank first half. It's a fucking awful time for a game, with the season finished, and we look way off the pace. The midfield three have been playing like a table football midfield, and they're just being walked through. Christie for Dykes. Can't be any worse. Edit: I'd have hickey off too. Right back on his wrong foot isn't better than O'Donnell has been.
-
Hickey starts at right back, otherwise as expected. Looking forward to it. Hope we tank the deserters.
-
Not in his own right, but could you imagine if we were doing a swap deal for Gallagher? That would excite me a lot.
-
Fine thanks.

Yes, I was just getting in first with all the "jokes": foreigner so must be good, only turning up for a month (ramadan) and McInnes would never sign an Albanian. In terms of the position not needing filled, I assume that Ferguson will leave and McRorie might play right back (or be hounded out for being a dirty hun). Polvara looked okay in the remaining games, but it was difficult to tell whether he'll be dynamic enough to cut it (might even turn into a centre half, had the touch of the Arneson about him). Suffice to say that we need a very good central midfielder to replace Ferguson, as we don't have one already (Barron aside).
-
There'll definitely be a question mark over whether he's quite good enough for that level, so he could well be sold to a championship team trying to win promotion if he's not getting a game around January window time. Hope not though, I think he'll raise his game again when necessary. Could be the next Grant Hanley, which is something that would have been used as a slur not that long ago.
-
Foreign, so automatically amazing. He'll probably only turn up for one month a year. Could you imagine McInnes ever signing an Albanian Internationalist?
-
I mention it. Alongside the fact that the Judas bastard left the Dons, which never gets brought up either.
-
Charlie Mulgrew?
-
Lancelot Pollard decides to become a Judas Hun cunt before me even getting the chance to realise we had a young player called Lancelot Pollard. I've always hated him.
-
I forgot that was even a thing. The plate tournament for losers. Awesome.

To be fair, I'd take a dream homecoming of Shaugnessy and Hector. With Bates and Gallagher sent on a permanent North sea cruise.
-
Dean Campbell wouldn't be a high earner unlike both Gallagher and Bates, it's not remotely the same. There would be no point at which you would say that a certain position doesn't really need improving and that other priorities would be better pursued? I'd like to think that's where the recruitment specialist would intervene and then the chairman. It would be a shocking use of budget. It's not a case of a player adding value, it's about how much value a player can add if the priority areas aren't addressed. Do you genuinely think Hector is that good that he could hold together a defence of one? Any good left sided centre back alongside Bates would be significantly better than Hector and Bates (on the left). He was pish there in his own right without adding Gallagher to the mix, there's nothing Hector could do to improve him.
-
When did we last play Stirling Albion? Must be a while ago. Be quite a tight schedule in that early part of the season, we should probably consider rotating the squad a little for that Raith game.
-
It's fairly straight forward. We don't currently have a left sided centre half, so we absolutely need to sign one of those. It's in the top three priority wise (I'd say the top, but it doesn't matter). If we sign Hector, then we've got two very expensive centre backs on the bench (plus McRorie as cover for that position if required). We're not going to turn down signing Hector because we want to play Gallagher, but because we've already got Gallagher and it might be difficult to offload him. My point throughout has been that we shouldn't sign players without offloading others first. I actually don't know what you're suggesting? Is it that you think we can not sign a left sided centre back? Or do you think we can have a squad containing Gallagher, Bates and Hector? Otherwise we're in agreement, that Hector could only join in place of one of the existing players (although I wouldn't be entirely comfortable with a player like Bates on the bench, that'd be expensive).
-
We have two right sided centre backs and no left sided centre backs. McRorie can also cover on the right. All three are shite on the left. We've just had an entire season of proof of how disastrous that is. I've never seen Hector play on his wrong side to pass comment, but you don't actively sign a player to play on his weaker side for obvious reasons (it's fine if it happens due to injury of course). We should only sign players who are an improvement if we're removing others from the squad. Otherwise that budget is taken from another area on the pitch. The last thing we need is the expense of both Bates and Gallagher on the bench when we could spend that on a good attacking midfielder. At our level, it's always an either or.
-
I actually thought it was an alright signing, he clearly had something about him at st Johnstone and McInnes had tried to sign him previously. What was weird was St Johnstone sending him out on loan when he'd done enough at us to suggest he'd be okay in this league. Suggestions that he's going down South anyway.
-
I think we need to stop signing players in positions that we have shit loads of cover just because they're available. Call it the McGeouch protocol. If we get rid of Bates and Gallagher then we could get him.
-
When's our European draw?
-
Aye, I'd have him here. Great asset to a team. Pursists wouldn't appreciate him, but I'd love to seem him tanking up the line and booting fuck out of folk.
-
Saints smash caley 4-0 to win the playoff 6-2. Davidson must stay.
-
Get Rooney called up instead of Paterson.
-
Aye, I guess that just sums up where we are as a squad. I think Scott Wright (through gritted teeth) should be in there, because other than Christie, I don't see anyone else with that drop of shoulder and change of pace to create something out of nothing. Otherwise, I can't really think of anyone pushing for a place further forward (and the lad Jacob Brown is clearly pish). Our midfield is fairly sewn up too, so a token call up for Ferguson is just that.

Dons' win the cup?

I'd be interested to see if there are official guidelines at the club for players. It is virtually impossible for a player to go to a game and not be photographed in today's society, so there is no way that McRorie could have gone without it getting back. There are also bound to be situations outwith the player's control in terms of song singing, crowds etc that will occur when they are there that might show them in a worse light than intended. All that is very obvious, so it makes me wonder if the club have protocols or if they don't give a shit either way? For example, not commenting on the other SPFL premiership teams on social media, having to seek permission to attend a rival's game etc. Or do we think that the "training" is very basic?
