This 100000%!!!! Say it all the time, I think we have solid skilled players, but we produce regular shite football.
-
Game was on in the background at work. Pretty dire stuff from what I saw and totally expected a 0-0. Didn't see much football from us but a win is a win!
-
Play mcginn then Ruth, adjust the style of play if needed.
-
Waiting for a central defensive pairing of McCrorie and Considine, and big Ash up top. Although, is Andy suspended? Anyone else up top and it's the little guy chasing long high wasted balls, much like the last game with Anderson. Tactics won't be changed so big Ash makes sense!!
-
Poor dead horse being beaten again by me. That’s now both Celtic and Rangers dropped points to teams we’d expect to beat. Do we pay attention to how these teams line up and play against the old firm?
-
Based on the apology letter, if the game is on we know who is not playing. I’d expect - lewis Hernandez-Taylor-Hoban-logan ojo-ferguson hedges-Wright-mcginn edmonson Would rather see Campbell play, Ferguson #10, Wright wide, and McGinn through the middle and less long ball shite, but I don’t see us playing football and big unit up top means more of the dire and painful watch we’re getting used to. 2-1 us, Ferguson and McGinn.
-
It's my understanding that the 8 are Anderson, Kennedy, Ojo, Ferguson, McGeouch, Bryson, McKenna, and Devlin. So, for the accies game I'm thinking - Lewis Hernandez-Taylor-Hoban-Logan Campbell-Virtanen Hedges-McGinn-Hayes Edmonson Still enough to beat accies I think, plus surely this group can sit deep for the whole game and punt long hopeless balls up near a forward. Ugh. Great opportunity for Campbell and even Virtanen to make a statement, especially since we were so pish in midfield against the huns. In all honesty, I'd rather see McGinn up top and Wright or McLennan come in, either at 10 or wide with Hedges at 10. I'd hope we'd play more football with McGinn up front but that didn't happen with Anderson there against the huns.

I don’t think the performance is a factor. We were shite but that shite has been pretty common and the norm against the old firm in recent years. They broke the rules, broke protocol. Put peoples health at risk. Put the club at risk, league too. They acted totally opposite to the message Dave Cormack has been sending since March. He’s been transparent, very community orientated, and the emphasis on safety. He’s also protected the players and management. The players didn’t give a fuck.

A little different, but over here the Louisville soccer team held a party, resulting in 29 people catching Covid. The team was hammered and the 3 organizers were dismissed from the team. College kids are maybe 21, dumb kids, sounds like with us it was many experienced ‘professionals.’ How hard does the club come down on them? There has to be a consequence. This effects the entire league, sport, health of the community etc...
-
For those saying there more to this and not just players involved, what are you hearing? Horrible thing to say but getting my hopes up that this could be the end for mcinnes. Club/team is a fucking joke right now when, in my opinion, Cormack as been outstanding throughout this covid situation. The two don’t match up, set the tone here!

I’m trying so hard not to over react. It’s one game. Our first game in almost 5 months. But with Anderson up top it appeared we made zero tactical changes and what we saw yesterday was a continuation of the Shiite we saw for much of last season. It’s not a one off and the fact we’ve seen this so many times before is extremely concerning, and depressing. I fear for this season after only one game when, on paper, we have a strong squad!
-
Games are won and lost in central midfield and our middle 3 were all awful. They ran us off the park there and so dominated the game. Ojo looked the worst but that’s because he was most involved, at least he got on the ball. Ferguson was non existent, no clue why he was given 90 minutes. Bryson looked fit in the sense he could run around, but offered very little. Agree with the other post, rangers looked fitter and sharper. Our team were slow, lacked intensity, and almost played like it was still preseason. Yet again it’s the fearful defensive tactics that get us nothing.
-
10 mins left. While not as bad as the first half, still bad. So little energy and enthusiasm, absolutely nothing being created. Don’t think we’ve had a shot at goal In the second half. Very disappointing. Pretty easy game for rangers.
-
Yup, not Anderson’s fault the service has been shite.
-
Waste of time this, piss poor after an hour, not much different.
-
Middle 3 in midfield have been awful. While Ojo has been bad, Ferguson is non existent, and Bryson simply running around chasing. Zero influence on the game hence we’re on the back foot the entire time.
-
Brutal watch so far. All rangers. Sitting back and letting them play ffs.
-
Based on consgrove’s first few games for us I didn’t think he was nearly good enough. But given an extended run look what happened. I’m still not a fan but he’s scored a fair few goals. I’ll still argue that if we give Main that same time and patience (plus penalties) he’ll score 15-20 a season. Why not try Anderson? I know shankland is a different story as he had issues, but maybe him being given an extended run could have had a positive effect. I really want to see Anderson given a shot, partly because as I already said, it should force us to play better football.
-
Would really like to see Anderson given the chance. Will force us to play more football too rather than the big lump up the park. Could be a blessing in disguise if you ask me. Brutal comparison so I apologize in advance, but hearts did pretty well with foster-Robertson-colquhoun up top back in the day, and none were over 4 foot 5. Hayes-anderson-Kennedy with mcginn at 10 works for me, although plug hedges in wide if Hayes is at left back.
-
I’m always try to be optimistic. But at the same time it’s pretty much the same players who underachieved last year with a manager who doesn’t seem to get the best out of them. We were pretty brutal to watch last year too so why would it be different? Get the best out of the players then I think we can get second and a cup, but the very first game will say a lot about the team, and manager. Do we have ago or is it the defensive timid counter attacking we know and hate?
-
Was a big fan but I’m writing him off. Was never fit enough to maintain form and a starting position, can’t be relied upon. I’m not a big fan of Taylor, although he didn’t do too much wrong last year but, while it’s two lefties, I’d like us to try McKenna and Considine in the middle, ideally bringing Leigh back in to play LB with Hayes ahead of him.
-
Fuck me, I’d take that money in a heart beat. I see Main being able to come up with similar scoring results if given the same patience and playing time Sam got, although my preference would actually to go with a front 3 of Hayes anderson and Kennedy with McGinn at 10. While he scored a bunch I don’t really rate Sam and I think his luck ran out that we take any sort of bid like this. I also think (hope) we are a more creative team this upcoming season with Hayes, Kennedy having a preseason, center mid fit and established, that any striker in our team will get plenty of scoring chances.
-
Very disappointed in Cerny to be honest. Nothing against the guy but a back up keeper to me is where we should have youth. Worst case get an emergency loan deal but the experience of being on the bench, maybe an occasional sub appearance, cup games, and reserves or whatever it’s called, I feel we should be developing a keeper. Was Rogers that bad??
-
Missing YPOY Dean Campbell too! It’s a deep squad, too many considering the covid finances and I’m sure we’ll try to move a player or two.
-
You’re missing Kennedy. Scott Wright too.
