  1. Lewis-Logan-Considine-McKenna-Taylor-Leigh-Vyner-Wilson-Cosgrove-Gallagher-Ferguson (NOT McGinn) Someone justify that line up??
  2. Didn’t see the game, just the highlights, and that was my take, thought we looked terrible defensively. Don’t see Wednesday being a fun evening.
  3. Well, with change at the club and apparent ambitions high, any chance of a January arrival or two? It appears Bryson is crocked again, and we are crying out for a Maddison/Christie attacking mid, anyone see squad additions this January?
  4. Talking to an American friend who pays close attention to major league soccer. Take it as you will, he says that Atlanta are the best run club in the league, top owners too who are more than wealthy. This will be interesting.
  5. If Cormack and US investors are involved then we are moving to a new stadium. All the bells and whistles, with loads of opportunities. As someone who has lived in the US the yanks know how to do sport, not in a traditionalist form but in a business and entertainment way. While many wont like it, the AT&T stadium is a possibility (it won’t be AT&T but just an example) but some yank will give us millions to do that. Cormack will get the stadium funded but it will take the club in a more modern direction some won’t like. I, personally, don’t give a shit because it will bring the club into the 21st century and I totally see us getting more money for players. To invest in the club and the stadium will for sure mean more player money too. Cormack isn’t dumb, we’re not one of these middle of the road English club who can’t compete at the top, but we can compete with the Glasgow clubs - Cormack has seen that we’re not that far away on the field in recent years and with some new signings and a better coach why can’t we be up there?
  6. I totally expect any significant investment to come through Cormack's contacts in the US. There are plenty of loaded fuckers over here and we are seeing more and more throw money at 'soccer.' In regards to what they get out of it, much is simply ego stroking and look, I own a team! When I win the lottery that will be me, hope to be announced at Todders in the near future.
  7. I can only see failure here. Mourinho is not a modern manager. 10-15 years ago yes, but not now. Plus he will not be given the time he needs - a mourinho team needs mourinho players and that will take a fair few transfer windows. Crazy appointment by spurs.
  8. The joys of football and opinion, I don't really see Andy this way. Yes he's a diehard don and fully committed, but in my opinion he's a very limited footballer. To say he's good/ace at football is vague, not quite sure what he excels at other than effort. He's slow and gets exposed, and fouls his marker almost every time. He has to be aggressive because if he gives his man space he gets torched, so ends up being stupid and overly aggressive giving away so many needless fouls. When we give away penalties and I don't watch the game I tend to assume it's an Andy fuck up. He'd probably get into the teams below us but mainly because we are in a shit league and the standard of player is possibly at an all time low (see the national team and it's lack of central defenders, it's a really weak position too.) I'd expect him to get exposed even more with weaker players around him. He's playing because of McKenna/Devlin being injured or off form, prior to that played left back because Shinnie got moved to help our shit midfield (he had great seasons at left back, I never saw that, quite the opposite but Hayes and McGinn helped his weaknesses IMHO). Lowe was signed to bench Andy and Devlin signed to partner McKenna. Prior to filling in for Shinnie he took over from an injured Reynolds. He's a back up that has stepped in when needed. He tries really hard but he's limited and your last line is spot on - he should be a bench player who fills in only when needed. Modern day Brian Irvine?? Loads of heart and effort, fans favorite, a few goals, but plenty of mistakes and very limited.
  9. Had this debate the other day, Considine isn’t good enough for our starting 11, or shouldn’t be. And this has been the case for years. He was gash at left back 2-3 seasons ago and we were all crying out for a proper left back. Shinnie had been moved to center mid so we signed Lowe. Now we have Leigh. If it had gone to plan Devlin and McKenna would be our two in the middle, but injuries and loss of form have affected that. I can’t fault Andy’s commitment and loyalty but he almost plays by default, injuries, loss of form to the recognized starters, or poor transfers and us not having a left back. He’s so slow and gets killed at left back and in central defense has to be so tight or he gets burned for pace, and when the forward gets the ball and is able to go at him he usually dives in and it’s a foul. Pre Lowe, Shinnie was moved to center mid mainly because we were shite in there and we hadn’t effectively replaced Jack Flood Robson etc. Had it gone to plan Shinnie would have been left back and Reynolds (injury fucked him) and Taylor/OConnor is the middle. As mentioned, Andy’s not that great so we never really got offers for him but he’s not been intended to be a regular starter for years. 500 games now, funny old game.
  10. Personally I don't think Milne is happy to see or wants us spanked by the old firm. I think he's a fan who wants the team to do well but his ambition differs to many of us. Success to him is business success with the hope of the team doing well, but financially secure, assets etc. is a must to him. I think he's happy with top 6 and the occasional cup final as he has seen us much worse, but I don't really see him as wanting us to get belted and wanting old firm success. Greater risk leads to greater reward. Milne took risks and nearly put us out of business. He won't go there again hence the acceptance of mediocrity on the pitch.
  11. I though Clark wouldn't get a pitch since he got the academy named after him. Would be weird to have your name on multiple things.
  12. So, Scott, Jess, Cooper, Miller, Harper, and Leighton. Interesting choices, definitely a popularity contest for some, a little surprised by Jess and maybe even Leighton. But then again, can’t really say who I’d replace them with.
  13. Is Gary ONeil another holding mid? No to Mulumbu. This reeks of panic. We can survive against all bar the old firm with what we have, if we sign a midfielder it must be a creative #10. As so many have said endlessly, including myself, that’s what we seriously need. Anything else is desperation. We have Ferguson and Campbell healthy, plus Bryson, and Vyner and Leigh, get a creative spark or we continue to die a slow death.
  14. Seriously??? You are praising us now when 4-0 down? Means fuck all when you are getting pumped, it needed to happen when it meant something and, yet again, we play shit scared against Celtic.
  15. Realistically I think we will have 16 or 18 points after 11 games. Out of curiosity - 19-20 - 15 Points after 9 games 18-19 - 18 points 17-18 - 26 points 16-17 - 18 points 15-16 - 24 points 14-15 - 19 points 13-14 - 20 points
  16. Win the next two we are 6-3-2, 21 points. Season 17-18 after 11 league games we were 8-2-1, 26 points. Season 15-16 after 11 league games 8-0-3, 24 points.
  17. Celtic have not looked great this year and here we are again, despite injuries, if we have a go you never know. We had a go at Motherwell against an in form team above us in the league, why not have a go at home this weekend? We are not expected to get a result so why not have a go? (one of the reasons so many now dislike DM.) Anyway, we won’t have a go. 0-3. No scorer.
  18. Would be very happy if we had another left back to keep him in midfield but Leigh in mid means Considine at left back and he’ll get ripped to shreds by Celtics pace. Against anyone but the old firm I’d be happy with Vyner and Leigh in center mid, good physical athletic midfielders are well suited to our league. On the other side, as many have said, would be happy for Ferguson to be dropped. He’s being way overplayed and I’d even suggest rotating him with Campbell or even Gleeson.
  19. Problem is we play Celtic next and I expect a totally different approach.
  20. I'm not Cosgrove's biggest fan but 20 mins in he hadn't put a foot wrong. His movement and touch were excellent, he was lively and sharp. Didn't see much of the second half but maybe the boy just needed a little break. Super finish, wish he'd done the same with a near identical opportunity later in the first half.
  21. I think McInnes will get credit for playing the right players in the right positions today!
  22. Tactical display? Nothing to do with tactics in my eyes. It was the same formation and the same style, albeit a little less long ball. Counter which we do quite often. It was a more typical Aberdeen performance, one we haven't seen in a few weeks though. The players just performed and Vyner and Leigh played pretty well at doing what our center mids have struggled to do this season. I didn't see any tactical changes or wizardry, we just showed up.
  23. I could have written the exact same thing, and agree penalty save was huge. I don't know if we'd have attacked the way we did if we went 1 down and Motherwell got their tails up. Didn't see much of the second half but Leigh played very well, a Shinnie type performance in my eyes, grit, determination, drive, and a nice pass or two. No tactical craziness, a regular 4231 but I thought we passed the ball a bit better and played more through midfield, not as much long ball. Bizarre given we had 2 defenders in midfield I'd have expected more long ball. Second half it appeared we didn't go into game management but just kept playing. Feel for Wilson, much like Greg Stewart, I feel DM is killing him by playing him wide. Had a couple decent shots but I think playing centrally is where we'd see the best of him, perhaps at #10. Also thought Logan got burned a fair few times, besides the dodgy pass for the penalty. Lastly, while Leigh was good in midfield I'll shit myself if we go with that against Celtic, Andy at left back will get a roasting.
  24. Good performances so far. Cracks papered over yet again. Improved contract on Monday knowing Milne.
  25. It’s totally fair. 6 defenders. Two are playing in midfield though. As I said, not like a dom ball who plays regularly in mid but 6 defenders in the lineup. Regardless, 2-0 and going well.
