Decent half and we had chances to add. No need to change tactics or formation. Players have done well, donāt need DM changes fucking this up.
-
I think it's fair to say 6 defenders. It's not like we have Ball in there who plays regularly in midfield. We have very limited midfielders available and we drop the one healthy midfielder. Wtf. Looks like weāve started with Leigh and vyner in center mid with Gallagher and the usual 4231. Great penalty save! Fuck. Terrific Cosgrove goal. Well played Leigh in midfield and super finish. 1-0. Cosgrove has been excellent so far.

I certainly don't think you can fully blame him for the injury crisis but he's not blameless. He creates the training, I'm sure has heavy influence on the fitness work, and ultimately signs the players and creates the squad. As he admits, he has chosen to go with smaller squads in recent times and this has hurt us last year and again this year. He also signed Devlin, Wilson, and Bryson for example, all with injury history who have been injured. Luck?
-
Given a limited squad I'd expect 5 at the back with Devlin, Considine, and McKenna all playing. I expect - Lewis Logan-Devlin-McKenna-Considine-Leigh Hedges-Campbell-Gallagher-McGinn Cosgrove It will be route 1, bypassing our limited midfield, with Hedges and McGinn trying to push up and help Cosgrove. Ugly game, 1-1. Cosgrove.

Your last part is key for me. When was the last time we had an experienced bench player come in and make a positive difference? How often does this happen? For 2-3 years now I'd say blooding youth would have been just as effective if not better.
-
Tough one to predict. I think we'd be inclined to accept around 3 million or more for him, but January is a sellers market and there will be desperate buyers out there. He's been average at best for a while now and doesn't want to be here. Easy to say now, but we missed the opportunity to sell him for more.
-
You lose me with that 'supporter' comment. We are all supporters with the amount of time we put into the club, including the amount of time we debate random strangers online! When fans are deeply unhappy everything done isn't for the immediate good of the club but it forces the issue. As I said, nobody wants us to lose, just like we don't want to protest, and we don't want to not watch or fail to attend games, but all of the above gives greater attention to the problem and pressures the club to change. Is that for the immediate good or for long term benefit? Pretty obvious, desperate times bring desperate measures, not fun but for change to happen things get ugly.
-
Iām not sure what you mean by ridiculousness. I think unhappiness is a simpler and clearer word. So many are so unhappy with the current situation.
-
Hate to say it but if we do well McInnes stays for longer. Only way for change is extreme failure. Never want us to lose or do poorly but means to an end.
-
Donāt agree with you. Never given a real chance. If weād given him the time and patience we gave Cosgrove we may have found a player.
-
Shankland. DM should be sacked alone for that one. Let him walk for free at a time we were starting to look to replace Rooney. Penalty box poacher that suites our style of play at the time perfectly. Not sure of his contract but if under contract will move from United for a million plus.
-
Actually ok with losing to Russia. Gives us 3 games to figure out what we are doing for the playoffs in March. Given we played the best team in the world twice, and a World Cup quarter finalist twice not sure what else people expected result wise. The next 3 games should give us the chance to establish some sort of style of play and hopefully getting some confidence. My question though is why Devlin is there given we so protected McKenna? Devlin hasnāt played much and has had multiple injuries in recent months/years, Iād have thought staying home would have been as much beneficial to Devlin as McKenna. Add to that the dons injuries, sending anyone on international duty has its risks right now. Then again, does it really matter, wouldnāt mind seeing youth really given a chance over the shit we are seeing, but tactics wonāt change so I guess that doesnāt matter either.
-
Canāt we just send McInnes to Sunderland and take Ross?
-
Sad to hear peopleās lack of interest but itās the same here. Used to set the alarm to get up and watch games, now donāt really care. Will certainly check the score during and after but the spark has gone. Now the quality of football is so shit I donāt really want to watch, too frustrating, plus Iāve just had it with McInnes. Donāt see how this season gets any better, and donāt see McInnes capable of turning things around. Itās going bad, and has been for a while now.
-
Donāt see Shinnie going to Rangers, that ship sailed, they are doing quite well and have a huge squad. They donāt need him. Donāt see him going to the Edinburgh clubs either, think if he comes north itās back to us.
-
I got your point, Iām just got past that issue a long time ago. Itās been this way for years, surprised you brought it up.
-
Does it really matter who he is or is not playing for? He would make us better and is most likely available is the next window.
-
I'd second that right now. I see Shinnie didn't make the squad again tonight. On the other side, I think Max Lowe is an ever present or close to now in their line up.
-
For the stattos out there, when was the last time we got horsed by more than 3?
-
The relationship is over. Weāre clinging on to past memories but weāre done. The sooner we break up the better as the rot is clearing setting in. Has been for over 2 years. Weāve also missed the boat on getting solid money for McKenna I think. If weāre shit when he returns, which I expect, his errors and such will be highlighted, and there will be more of them. Sad to see on the park when we appear to be getting our shit together off the park.
-
Clearly out the picture at derby despite their shit start to the season? Loan move in January? I do think weād benefit from his leadership/passion/energy alone!
-
So why are people still positive for DM? Quality of football is so clearly shite and itās clear weāre on the decline and have been for 2-3 years now. And based on the weekly performances I donāt know what the fuck we do in training. Zero quality and zero leadership on the park. A rudderless ship and have the players tuned out their buddy manager? One trophy in 6 years and āsuccessā in the league when everyone else around us was even shiter and broke. Now weāre just as bad and itās 2 teams and everyone else in the league now. The quality of opponent is so poor in my eyes and on any given day we could win or lose to anyone outside the old firm. Just donāt see us touching either Celtic or Rangers this year. Our current league position masks how really shit we are and weāre running out of players. Weāre only 8 points off bottom and while I donāt see us getting relegated I think bottom 6 isnāt out of the picture. Is it fair to say that the DM supporters are āyoungerā fans who grew up remembering us from early to mid 90s onwards when we were pish? My memories start 80/81 and I donāt see DM as a better manager than McNeill, Ferguson, Knox, Smith, Scott, maybe even Willie Miller.
-
Football is a simple game made complicated by coaches. DM is the king of that.
-
Working for anyone, don't understand the new shit....
